Samantha slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry and her head pounding. She tried to sit up but was stopped by the IV attached to her arm.

She turned her head and saw a man standing by her bedside. He was tall, with striking features that made her heart skip a beat. His eyes met hers and she saw the sadness in them as he looked at her.

As she tried to focus on the man's face, Samantha realized that he was incredibly handsome. His sharp jawline, chiseled features, and warm eyes were enough to make her forget her current predicament, if only for a moment.

"Who did this to you?" the man asked, his voice laced with concern. Samantha's mind was still foggy from the pain and medication, and she couldn't place his face. But she felt a strange sense of familiarity.

"I never thought it'll be like this the time I see you again, Sam," he said, his voice trailing off. Samantha searched her memory for any clues to his identity, but nothing came to mind.

"Samantha?" the man snapped his fingers in front of her face. "How did you know my name?" Samantha asked, confused.

The man chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Of course, I know your name... Sami Sami Sam," he said, his voice playful. Just hearing his voice made Samantha remember instantly.

"Bry? As in Bryan Spencer!?" she exclaimed, recognizing him as her childhood friend. She couldn't believe it had been so long since she'd last seen him.

Bryan smiled warmly at her. "It's good to see you again, Sam," he said, taking her hand in his. "I wish it was under better circumstances, though."

Samantha sat nervously on the hospital bed as she waited for Dr. Bryan to finish examining her and she felt a strange mix of emotions – relief at having someone she trusted looking after her, and awkwardness at being in such a vulnerable position in front of an old friend.

Bryan smiled reassuringly at her and began to discuss the results of the examination, assuring her that her baby was healthy and growing as expected.

As he spoke, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards him for being there for her in this difficult time.

Then, she mustered up the courage to ask, "Bryan, are you married?" She felt a sudden pang of sadness as she realized how much she missed having someone to confide in and rely on.

Bryan paused for a moment before answering, "No, I'm not married. I've been focusing on my work as a doctor and haven't had much time for anything else." Samantha sensed a hint of regret in his voice, but didn't want to pry any further.

She sighed and looked down at her belly, feeling the weight of her situation once again. "I hope my baby will be okay," she said, her voice breaking with emotion.

Bryan placed a reassuring hand on her arm. "Your baby is strong and healthy, Samantha. You're doing everything right." His gentle touch and kind words brought a sense of comfort to Samantha, and for a moment she felt like everything would be okay.
