Samantha gathered all her might and rushed outside, scanning the street for any sign of help. And then she saw it - a cab parked across the street. With every ounce of strength she had left, she ran towards the cab, tears streaming down her face.
"Please, can you take me to the hospital?" she pleaded with the driver, her voice trembling. "I'm pregnant, and I think I'm having a miscarriage."
Each time a cab drove by, she waved frantically, her voice hoarse from yelling "Taxi!" but none of them stopped. Samantha felt like she was about to collapse right there on the street. She tried to take a deep breath, but it felt like someone was squeezing her lungs.
Finally, a cab slowed down and pulled over to the curb. The driver saw the blood on her clothes and the look of pain on her face. "Are you okay, miss?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
Samantha shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Hospital... please take me to the hospital," she managed to say between sobs. The driver quickly helped her into the back seat and sped off towards the nearest hospital.
The driver, sensing her urgency, sped off towards the hospital. But the ride felt endless, with every jolt and turn exacerbating Samantha's pain. She struggled to remain conscious, her vision blurred and her breathing shallow.
As they finally pulled up to the hospital, Samantha was barely holding on. She threw some money at the driver and stumbled out of the cab, running towards the entrance.
But before she could make it to the doors, her body gave out, and she collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.
Everything happened in a blur. Doctors and nurses rushed to her aid, taking her blood pressure, checking her vitals, and asking her questions. Samantha could barely answer, but she clutched her stomach and tried to stay awake.
Finally, she collapsed on the hospital bed, her vision fading into blackness. She didn't know what would happen next, but she prayed that her baby would survive, even if it meant going through the pain and suffering on her own.
