Samantha tried to remember if she had missed her period before, but nothing came to mind. She couldn't help but think of the possibility that she might be pregnant.
Her hands trembled as she took out her phone and searched for symptoms of pregnancy. She read through a list of common signs, and each one seemed to match what she was feeling. The thought of being pregnant made her feel both excited and terrified.
The next day, she went to the pharmacy and purchased a pregnancy test. She nervously took the test and waited for the results. When she saw the two lines appear, her heart skipped a beat.
Samantha sat on the bathroom floor, staring at the positive pregnancy test in her hand. She was completely shocked and didn't know how to feel. She had always wanted to have children, but with Augustus? It wasn't something she ever imagined.
She was pregnant.
Samantha couldn't contain her emotions. She was both elated and scared at the same time. She didn't know how Augustus would react to the news. Would he be happy or angry?
She decided to wait for Augustus to come home before telling him the news. She couldn't keep it a secret any longer.
Days turned into weeks, and Samantha still hadn't heard from Augustus.
As the days passed, Samantha's symptoms only worsened. She was constantly nauseous and exhausted. She couldn't help but feel alone and scared. She missed Augustus and wished that he was there with her.
She was going to be a mother, and that was something that she had always wanted. She just hoped that Augustus would come back and share in the joy of their impending parenthood.
Her mind was racing with thoughts of what she should do. She couldn't tell Augustus, not with the way their relationship was going. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to keep the baby, given the circumstances.
She didn't know how much longer she could keep up the charade. She was feeling more and more trapped, with no way out. She didn't want to raise a child in a loveless, abusive home, but at the same time, she wasn't sure if she could go through with terminating the pregnancy.
Her mind was in a constant battle, and it was taking a toll on her. She was losing weight and feeling weaker by the day. She didn't know how much longer she could keep this up.
Samantha sat on the edge of their bed, clutching her phone tightly. She took a deep breath and dialed Augustus' number. It rang for what seemed like forever before going to voicemail. She tried again, but this time the call was declined.
Samantha's heart sank as she tried a third time, but once again the call went to voicemail. She left a message, her voice trembling as she tried to keep her emotions in check.
"Augustus, it's me... Samantha. I need to talk to you, it's important. Please call me back as soon as you can."
She tried calling him a fourth time, but this time the line was busy. Her anxiety was skyrocketing, she felt trapped with her own thoughts. The fifth time she called, but Augustus dropped the call.
"Augustus, I need to tell you something," she said, her voice shaking. "I'm pregnant."
Samantha's heart dropped to her stomach as she realized that he didn't seem to care at all. She tried to call him again, but his phone was switched off. She was left alone with her thoughts, wondering what she would do without him.
