At Campbell's Trading Company.

August went early to work. The company was one of the most successful in New York, and August was the CEO, the man in charge of everything.

Augustus sat at the head of the conference table, his eyes darting around the room as he barked out orders to his clerks. He had a reputation for being ruthless and demanding, and it showed in his bossy attitude towards his employees.

"John, I need those reports on my desk by noon," he snarled at one of his clerks. "And you, Sara, make sure the clients are taken care of properly. We can't afford to lose any business."

The clerks scrambled to take notes and make sure they understood their assignments.

Augustus was known for his short temper and tendency to lash out at anyone who didn't meet his expectations. The atmosphere in the room was tense, and his clerks were all on edge, afraid of making even the slightest mistake.

As Augustus continued to bark out orders, his clerks remained silent, not daring to speak up or question his authority. They knew that he was the one in charge, and any misstep could result in losing their jobs.

As he walked through the company, people greeted him, but August just ignored them and walked past. He was known for being strict, tough, domineering, and dominant. He didn't have time for small talk or pleasantries.

August went straight to his office and prepared himself for the day's work. But as he sat down at his desk, he got distracted by a photo frame on one of his cabinets. It was their wedding photo, and for a moment, August felt a flicker of emotion.

But that emotion quickly turned to hate, and August walked over to the frame and grabbed it. He tore the photo out of the frame and tossed it into the trash, his face contorted with anger.

He showed no regret for abusing his wife, no remorse for the pain he had caused her. To him, she was nothing more than an object, a plaything to be used and discarded at his pleasure.

As August sat down at his desk, he felt a sense of power wash over him. He was in charge of this company, and he knew that he was good at what he did. He had built Campbell's Trading Company from the ground up, and he was proud of what he had accomplished.

But as the day wore on, August couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in his heart. He couldn't help but think about Samantha, about the pain he had caused her, the way he had treated her.

For a moment, he wondered what it would be like to be kind to her, to treat her with love and respect. But that thought quickly faded, replaced by the cold, hard reality of his life.

August knew that he was a powerful man, a successful CEO, and he was determined to keep it that way. But deep down, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing, that there was more to life than just money and power.

As he walked out of his office at the end of the day, August couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness in his heart. He knew that he had to find a way to fill that emptiness, to find a purpose in life beyond just being the CEO of Campbell's Trading Company.

As August walked through the bustling streets of New York, he couldn't help but think about his relationship with Samantha. He had married her just for the sake of having a wife, because, as they say, a great and prominent businessman should have a lady of his own.

Augustus didn't have an eye for romance or serious relationships. This man hated commitments. He never knew the real definition of love. He thought that Samantha would be the perfect wife. Naive, innocent, blinded by her love. He knew he could control her easily, like a puppet playing on the strings.

He was only using her body for his unending lust. Worst of all, he was not contented with her. There were times when he would bring other women into their own mansion, and Samantha couldn't do anything about it. He was so used to hurting Samantha physically and mentally.

"I hate you," August breathed out, his voice low and filled with venom. "I hate you so much."
