15. Unfold the Mysteries

Nick Fury walked into the red mansion where he saw Alexi in the hall. He noticed him and stood up to approach him with a smile," Nick! What a surprise! Come, have a seat. " Nick nodded and sat with him. " What brings you here?"

Fury smirked at him," You complaining?" Alexi rolled his eyes with a sigh. " I'm here to see Natasha. Heard she's.... talking. Hope she'll call me one-eyed uncle. " Both of them laughed on it. Alexi told him that she's upstairs and he went to her room.

He knocked on the door once, and stepped in. Natasha walked up to him with a smile and hugged him. Fury patted her back. " Glad to see you smile again, dear. " Both of them sat in the couch. " So, what do you wanna talk about?"

Natasha hesitated at first. " Have you told dad yet, about why you've recommended him to be our bodyguard?"

He looked at her in confusion. Then he nodded in realisation. " Oh. You talking about Rogers?" She nodded. " Well, Alexi wanted to hire..."

She shook her head," You didn't understand. I meant, the real purpose of you sending him...Rogers, to work with dad. He's here to find some information right?"

He chuckled a little," Rogers has given it away already?" Then he sighed. " If you've already figured out his reasons, then I guess you're thinking if he's loyal. I can guarantee the weight of his words. What ever he says, he means that. He's promised your father to protect you, then be assured, he'll do that anyhow. You can say, I'm this confident because I've worked with him for years, it's that experience. "

Natasha gave it a thought. But she hasn't gotten her answer yet. " But why? Why did you send him here?"

Nick sighed again. " How should I put this? Well, I was in a meeting, when his parents got killed. I had sent him to that mission, to Russia, but when things got ugly, I couldn't prevent his loss. He wasn't emotionally stable after that. So I asked him to take a break, and maybe go for therapy. He took my words in wrong way. He thought I was saying if he's going crazy. To add more misery, I removed him from the team captain position. So he resigned from SHIELD. Then recently, Alexi met me and asked if I can find someone to be a bodyguard for him, then the first person came to my mind was Rogers, as I knew the little history of Alexi in Russian influence. So I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for me to lessen some regrets from my account. I couldn't do any help to Steven, so I sent him  here, rather forcefully, after getting an earful of his frustration and hatred. "

Then he looked at her with a sigh," So if you're thinking he'd cause any trouble to you here, then forget it. He'd never do that. Many people have betrayed him, but not him. You can trust him fully. He's not that kind of person who does something behind people's back. You know about it already means he has already revealed his intentions to you, or probably to others . " She was silent the whole time. " Anything else you wanna know?"

She sighed ," There is a lot. But, from you, it's enough for now. " She smiled at him," Thanks for telling me. "

He smiled then narrowed his eyes at her," Why so curious about him though? Did he do something wrong?"

She shook her head," No, not really. I was just....making sure. " He nodded and left saying good bye.

Then it's time for Natasha to rethink about him. Melina knew about it, the real reason of him working here. It means, Steve has told her. He didn't hide.

He was going to tell her anytime soon, but she heard it from Melina and got angry and didn't give time for him to explain. He even agreed when she asked if he's here to get information.

It means, he's not at fault all the time?

It means, will she regret now? For lashing out on him? Telling him to get lost from her sight? Telling him that she wouldn't care even if he kills himself?
