17. Deep Secrets

Natasha came back from the party with Yelena, her mood was totally ruined. Yelena went to her room and Natasha took the stairs to go as. " Natalia!", This rude and stern voice made her look towards it.

Melina walked up to her at the bottom of the stairs. " What happened at the party?" Natasha didn't respond and stood there blankly. She chuckled a little," You must have caused some drama again. That's why Steve came early with a cab and you both coming now. " She stepped closer to her dangerously," Listen here. Keep your childishness to yourself. I've been noticing since a month. You've been doing something which is disturbing him. So, don't do something which would make him sick of you and leave. "

Natasha dared to challenge her glare. " Then so be it. You can buy someone else easily anyway.  "

Melina huffed mockingly," Don't get on my nerves, dear. You're well aware of what can I do. Careful. " And she walked away leaving Natasha in fear and anger. And it led to a sleepless night for her.

Next morning a doorbell rang continuesly somewhere which caused some groan and shouting in the neighborhood apartments. Wanda opened the door in frustration," What's your problem?!..." But she was shocked as she saw Natasha is standing at the door. " You? What are you doing at this time?"

" Is your brother home?" She asked impatiently.

Wanda nodded," Yeah. He's sleeping. Any problem? Let me..." Natasha didn't let her finish and walked in pushing past Wanda making her gasp in shock.

She pushed the door open to Steve's bedroom making a bang noise. He groaned under the covers. " Wanda?! Kick Barnes out of my place! " Then someone pulled his covers away. " What the!!!.... Ahhhh!!!" He shouted in shock to see Natasha looking down at him kneeling down in the bed. He pulled the blanket to cover his body again. " What are you doing here?!"

But she didn't move. " Will you get out of the bed or we're gonna talk like this?"

" Okay okay. Give me a minute. " He jumped out of the bed, without his shirt on, making Natasha look away from his body. He came out of the washroom putting on a pjama shirt and saw her sitting in his bed. " Hey. How can you barge into someone's bedroom huh?! That too a man's?" She just rolled her eyes. " What do you wanna talk so badly?"

She sighed and looked up to him," I'm doing a press release. I'm gonna reveal Melina's sins to the world. For more than two years, I tried to act like nothing happened, acted like I was a living corpse, but not anymore. I'm gonna give her what she deserves. "

Steve is standing there in utter shock and confusion. " What is it? What are you talking about?"

She chuckled," Really? In just few months you trust her this much that you can't believe she could do some crime? I'm gonna reveal it. Will you stop me and come to her rescue? Again? Like you did a few days back, activating fire-alarm in her meeting? Will you stand against me, to support her? Then what about your promise to my father that you'll protect me too? Not just her? You're not supposed to dance around her right? "

She fired so many questions as her frustration resurfaced again. Steve sighed after a moment of silence. " Listen, Na....Ms Romanoff. " That small slip-up was enough to hurt her core. But Steve continued without caring this time. " I'm a bodyguard, works for your father. You said something right, but also said something wrong. I'm ready to protect you. But I don't have any right to support you or not. But if you tell me...."

She stood up angrily interrupting him," Forget it. Just don't get in my way. " And she walked out through the main door stomping her foot. Melina is getting in her nerves, triggering her about Steve. And, like a fool, she barged into his house, and instead of talking to him and shorting things out, she got angry on him. It's not her fault anyway.
