Thomas was on duty and had just finished serving dinner when he noticed the storm clouds gathering outside. He could hear the distant rumble of thunder, and he knew that it was going to be a bad one.

As the night progressed, the storm grew worse, and the wind began to howl around the old house. Thomas could hear the rain lashing against the windows, and he could feel the house shaking with each clap of thunder.

Suddenly, the lights flickered and then went out altogether. Thomas felt his heart sink as he thought about his little girl. He knew that Ellie struggled with her circulation and maintaining her body temperature, and he was worried about how the power cut would affect her.

He quickly made his way to his room, where Ellie was this currently residing, was sleeping peacefully in the cot beside his bed. He picked her up carefully, making sure to keep her wrapped in her blankets to keep her warm. He then held her upright against his chest, hoping that his body heat would help to keep her warm.

As he sat there and lit a candle, with nothing but the sound of the storm for company, Thomas couldn't help but feel a sense of fear creeping over him. He knew that he had to be strong for his daughter, but he couldn't help but worry about how long the storm would last and what would happen if the power didn't come back on soon.

He looked down at Ellie, who was snuggled up against him, and he felt a surge of love and protectiveness. He knew that he would do anything to keep her safe, even if it meant braving the storm all night long.

The rain pounded relentlessly against the windows and the wind howled outside.

Thomas knew that without power, the heating system would be out, leaving the house cold and damp. And that was the last thing he wanted for his little girl. Ellie was too young to regulate her body temperature, and he knew that if she got too cold, it could be dangerous for her.

As the storm continued to rage outside, Thomas paced the darkened room, humming softly to his daughter to soothe her. So, he walked around the room, gently rocking her in his arms.

She was born prematurely and had been struggling with her health ever since. Thomas knew that she was especially vulnerable to cold weather, and storms like these made him uneasy.

He looked down at Ellie, who was fast asleep, her tiny body bundled up in a thick blanket. He gently touched her cheek, and it was cold to the touch. He knew that he needed to keep her warm and comfortable to avoid any complications.

Thomas quickly grabbed a few extra blankets and wrapped them tightly around Ellie's body.

But before long he looked down at Ellie, who was still sleeping soundly, but her breathing was becoming shallow.

Thomas felt his heart racing. He knew that he had to act fast to keep Ellie warm and comfortable. He held her upright against his chest, her head nestled against his shoulder. He paced the room, rubbing her back gently to keep her circulation going. He murmured softly to her, "Come on, little one. You can do it. Just keep breathing."

The storm raged on outside, but inside the room, Thomas and Ellie were cocooned in their own little world. He felt a deep sense of responsibility for his daughter's well-being, and he was determined to keep her safe, no matter what.

Ellie stirred and opened her eyes, and Thomas saw the faintest smile on her face. He felt a surge of love and gratitude, knowing that he was her father and protector.

He loved the way Ellie's tiny fingers would curl around his own, and the way she would nuzzle into his chest when she was sleepy.

"I never knew it was possible to love someone so much," Thomas thought to himself as a gentle smile on his face.

Ellie gurgled contentedly in response, her tiny fingers clutching at the collar of Thomas's shirt. He smiled down at her, placing a gentle kiss on the back of her head. "You're so small," he said, marveling at the fragile weight of her in his arms. "But you're stronger than you know. You've already been through so much."
