As Thomas began experiencing bouts of nausea and exhaustion. Memories of his own pregnancy with Ellie came flooding back, and he couldn't ignore the telltale signs. Deep down, he knew he was pregnant once again.

Unable to contain his joy, Thomas couldn't wait to share the news with Ellie.

As they settled down on the living room sofa, Thomas looked into Ellie's curious eyes and took a deep breath. "Ellie, sweetheart, I have something very important to tell you," he began, his voice filled with excitement.

Ellie's face lit up, mirroring her father's anticipation. "What I - is it?"

Thomas chuckled softly, unable to hide his joy any longer. "Yes, darling, something very special did happen. You remember how you wished for a baby sister or brother?"

Ellie nodded eagerly, her eyes widening with anticipation.

"Well, it seems your wish might just come true," Thomas revealed, a wide grin spreading across his face.

Ellie's jaw dropped, and her eyes sparkled with pure delight. "Really, Daddy? I'm g - going to have a baby sister or brother?"

Thomas nodded, his heart overflowing with happiness. "Yes, Ellie. Daddy is going to have another baby. You're going to be a big sister!"

A mix of emotions washed over Ellie's face—pure joy, wonder, and a hint of apprehension. She threw her arms around her father, hugging him tightly.

Tears of joy filled Thomas's eyes as he returned her embrace. In that moment, he realized that everything he had hoped for—the love, the family, the happiness—was within his grasp. Together, they would embark on a new journey, building a future filled with love and laughter.

As they sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, Thomas knew that this was just the beginning. Their little family was growing, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them all.

Sitting on the porch with Ellie snuggled on his lap, Thomas gently held her small frame, her tiny arms wrapped around him protectively. Despite the absence of any visible signs of pregnancy, Ellie seemed to sense the change within him. Her young heart was already overflowing with love and protectiveness for the sibling growing silently in Thomas's womb.

Thomas couldn't help but hold his hand protectively over his stomach, despite the fact that there was no visible bump. Ellie, always intuitive and perceptive, sensed her father's shift in demeanor. Gently, she placed her small hands on top of his, her touch providing comfort and assurance.

"Daddy, is the b - baby in there?" Ellie asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Thomas chuckled softly, brushing a stray lock of hair away from her face. "Yes, darling," he replied, his voice filled with tenderness. "The baby is in there, but it's still very tiny. It'll take some time before we can see the bump."

Ellie's face lit up with excitement and love. "I'll be the best big s - sister, Daddy," she declared, determination shining in her eyes. "I'll protect the b - baby with all my might!"

Thomas couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for his daughter's unwavering support. She had faced her own challenges with such resilience, and now she embraced the prospect of becoming a sister with open arms. The love between them swelled, binding their hearts together in an unbreakable bond.

Thomas held Ellie a little tighter. In this moment, he knew that their journey as a family was about to take an extraordinary turn. A new life was growing within him, carrying with it the promise of joy, love, and the chance for their family to flourish even further.

Ellie's curiosity was soon redirected. She pointed at a seagull soaring across the sky, her attention captured by the graceful bird. Thomas couldn't help but smile at his daughter's ability to find joy in the simplest things.

From that moment on, Ellie became fiercely protective of her yet-to-be-born sibling. She would constantly shower Thomas's currently flat stomach with tender kisses, her tiny fingers caressing the invisible life within. The bond between father and daughter deepened, and together they eagerly awaited the arrival of their newest family member in the coming months.

The gentle breeze carried the scent of the sea, and the sound of seagulls filled the air. Thomas couldn't help but feel a profound sense of contentment.

Suddenly, a wave of nausea overwhelmed Thomas, and he felt the urgent need to be sick. Ellie, ever perceptive and protective, noticed her father's change in demeanor. With a sense of maturity well beyond her years, she carefully removed herself from his lap and looked around for something to help him.

Spotting a nearby bucket, Ellie quickly retrieved it and held it out for her father. Her small hands trembled slightly, but her determination never wavered. Thomas felt a rush of love and gratitude for his daughter as he leaned over the bucket, his body convulsing with sickness.

As Thomas retched into the bucket, Ellie stayed by his side, her eyes filled with concern.

After what felt like an eternity, the sickness subsided, and Thomas straightened up, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Daddy, a - are you okay?" Ellie asked, her voice filled with concern beyond her four years. "Is the baby making you f - feel sick?"

Thomas smiled at his daughter's intuition and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her even closer. "Yes, sweetheart, the baby is making me feel a little sick, but that's perfectly normal. It's alright."

"Daddy, can w - we call the b - baby Lily if it's a girl? Ellie asked, her eyes filled with anticipation, And if it's a boy, we c - can call him Finley, like the brave knight in my storybook."

Thomas was moved by Ellie's enthusiasm and her ability to find joy in every situation. "Lily and Finley," he repeated softly, testing the names on his lips. They felt right, and he couldn't help but imagine the bond that would form between his two children, their laughter filling their new home.

With Ellie snuggled securely in his arms, Thomas looked out at the horizon, his heart filled with hope and anticipation. The path ahead was uncertain, but he was determined to embrace the challenges and blessings that awaited them.
