A few weeks had passed since the unfortunate incident at school where Ellie was pushed over by two older boys. The boys had been rightfully suspended, and Ellie had taken a few days off to recover from the ordeal. Despite the emotional and physical pain she had endured, Ellie was determined to put the incident behind her and return to her normal routine.

As Ellie returned to school, everything seemed to be going smoothly. Her classmates were friendly, the teachers were supportive, and she was gradually regaining her confidence. However, unbeknownst to her, a dark cloud was forming on the horizon. The two boys who had targeted her before had returned to school, and they harboured sinister intentions.

During break time, when the teachers' attention was momentarily diverted, the two boys seized the opportunity to carry out their wicked plan. With a malicious glint in their eyes, they cornered Ellie, their intentions clear and menacing. One of the boys sneered at her, his voice dripping with cruelty, "Thought you could escape punishment, did you? We're going to teach you a lesson you'll never forget!"

Fear gripped Ellie's heart as she realized the severity of the situation. She desperately looked around, hoping for someone to intervene, but the playground was eerily empty, devoid of any potential saviors. The boys wasted no time, launching a relentless attack on her vulnerable body, inflicting blows that were meant to hurt, humiliate, and break her spirit.

Each blow landed with a sickening thud, jarring Ellie's fragile frame. Pain shot through her body, overwhelming her senses. The weight of their aggression was unbearable, and her young mind struggled to comprehend why anyone would want to hurt her so deliberately. As the boys relentlessly battered her, a wave of darkness washed over Ellie's consciousness, and she slipped into unconsciousness.

Time seemed to stand still as Ellie lay unconscious on the cold ground, her small body motionless and vulnerable. The sinister plot of revenge had reached its devastating peak, leaving an innocent child shattered and broken. It was a horrifying sight that would haunt the memories of all who witnessed it, had they been present.

Meanwhile, Thomas Barrow, was unaware of the tragedy unfolding in his daughter's life. He had been working tirelessly to provide for Ellie, ensuring that her needs were met and she felt loved and protected. Little did he know that his daughter's innocence was being violated in the cruelest of ways.

Thomas could not shake off the unease that gnawed at his gut. As a father, he had developed an instinctual bond with Ellie, sensing her pain and anguish even from a distance.

Ellie's absence in the classroom caught the attention of her compassionate teacher, Mrs Brown. Concern etched across her face, she immediately began searching for the young girl, her heart pounding with worry. It didn't take long for her to discover Ellie lying unconscious on the playground, her small body bruised and battered.

With a mixture of shock and anguish, she rushed to Ellie's side, cradling her fragile form in her arms. Tears welled up in her eyes as she whispered comforting words, hoping to reach the unconscious child's soul. "It's going to be okay, Ellie. You're safe now." she murmured, her voice filled with determination and resolve.

Thomas Barrow's heart skipped a beat as he received an urgent message from the school, informing him of Ellie's grave condition. Fear gripped his soul, and he abandoned his duties at Downton Abbey, racing against time to reach his daughter's side. His mind raced with a thousand questions, each more terrifying than the last. Would Ellie be okay? Just when he thought that everything had gone back to normal and everything was alright, it had happened again but this time it was much more serious than before.

As Thomas arrived at the school, his heart pounded in his chest. He pushed open the doors, his eyes frantically scanning the chaotic scene for any sign of his precious Ellie. And there she was, lying motionless on a stretcher, her delicate features pale and fragile. The weight of the world bore down on Thomas as he rushed to her side, clutching her tiny hand in his trembling grasp.

Ellie's road to recovery would be long and arduous. The attack had left lasting physical and emotional scars, threatening to shatter the spirit of the resilient girl. Yet, in the midst of the darkness that had befallen them, Thomas remained a beacon of unwavering strength and love. He vowed to stand by Ellie's side, navigating the treacherous path towards healing and justice.

Upon arrival, Dr. Clarkson swiftly took charge, his years of experience guiding him through the necessary examinations. He carefully checked Ellie over, ensuring that no injuries were overlooked. Thomas stood by, his eyes fixed on his daughter's motionless form, his mind a whirlwind of fears.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Doctor Clarkson turned to Thomas with a solemn expression. "Her injuries are severe," he began, his voice heavy with concern. "She has suffered a concussion and several fractures. We need to closely monitor her for any signs of internal bleeding."

Thomas felt a surge of anger rise within him, fueled by a fierce protectiveness for his daughter. He clenched his fists, his jaw set with determination. No matter what it took, he vowed to bring justice to those responsible for hurting Ellie. But for now, his focus was solely on her well-being, on willing her to wake up from the darkness that had consumed her.

Fear and despair gripped Thomas as he knelt by his daughter's side, his trembling hands reaching out to touch her delicate cheek. "Ellie, my darling," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion, "please wake up. Daddy's here."

There and then Thomas knew what he had to do.

"Oh, Ellie, my precious girl," he murmured, his voice filled with both love and anguish. "I can't bear to see you like this. It breaks my heart. I think it may be best if we go away for a little while, once you're better. Somewhere safe, where no harm can find us."

He hoped that in their retreat, they could heal the wounds inflicted upon their souls and find solace in each other's arms. The thought of leaving behind the familiar walls of Downton Abbey, even temporarily, pained him deeply. However, his priority was Ellie's well-being and protecting her from further harm.
