As the family of Downton Abbey prepared to leave for their trip to Scotland, the staff was busily getting everything in order. "We have to make sure everything is perfect for their trip," Mrs. Patmore stated as she bustled about the kitchen, supervising the preparation of food for the journey. "We can't have them worrying about anything while they're away."

Thomas, now eighteen weeks into his pregnancy, was feeling the effects of his condition. He was tired and his uniform was feeling tight around his growing stomach. "I can hardly breathe in this thing," he grumbled to himself as he tried to adjust his clothes. Despite his discomfort, he was determined to continue working and make sure the family's trip was a success.

One of the footmen noticed Thomas's distress. "Are you okay, Thomas?" he asked, concern in his voice.

"I'm fine," Thomas replied with a smile, "Just a bit tired. This pregnancy takes a lot out of me."

"I can imagine. But don't worry, we're all here to help. We'll make sure everything runs smoothly while the family is away."

As the day went on, the staff worked tirelessly to ensure that everything was ready for the family's departure. Bates checked and rechecked the luggage, Carson oversaw the packing of the carriages, and Mrs. Patmore made sure that there was enough food for the journey.

Finally, the day of departure arrived and the family was ready to leave. "Thank you, everyone, for all your hard work," Lady Mary said, giving each of the staff a warm smile. "We'll be back soon and we know that everything will be in good hands while we're gone."

As the carriages rolled away, the staff breathed a collective sigh of relief. "Well, that's done," Mrs. Hughes said with a smile. "Now we can focus on keeping everything running smoothly while they're away."

"Indeed," Carson replied, "And I have faith in all of you. You have always been a reliable and dedicated team, and I have no doubt that you will continue to be so."

As he took a much-needed break in the rocking chair in the servants' kitchen, Thomas felt a flutter in his stomach. "Is that the baby moving already?" he wondered to himself, a sense of awe washing over him.

"Hello there little one," he whispered.

The other staff bustled about, preparing meals and cleaning the rooms, but Thomas was content to sit and rest for a while. As he rocked back and forth, he thought about the changes that were to come and the responsibilities he would soon have. He was both excited and scared at the prospect of becoming a father.

Just then, Mrs. Patmore, the cook, bustled into the room with a tray of fresh baked scones. "Here you are, Thomas," she said, placing the tray on the table. "You look like you could use a little pick-me-up."

Thomas gratefully accepted a scone and took a bite, savoring the warm, buttery flavor. "Thank you, Mrs. Patmore,"

Soon, He sighed, feeling a sense of discomfort as he tried to adjust his uniform shirt to breathe better.

He closed his eyes, focusing on the movement in his belly, and began to rock back and forth in the chair. "It's alright," he said, "just a little discomfort, but it's all part of the journey." He felt a sense of peace as he rested in the kitchen, surrounded by the familiar scents of home-cooked meals and the sounds of the servants going about their daily tasks.

As he rocked back and forth, he felt a sense of contentment wash over him. He was grateful for the quiet moments like these, where he could take a break from the hustle and bustle of the house and just be. He smiled, knowing that his baby was growing stronger every day and he couldn't wait to hold them in his arms.

Thomas continued to rock back and forth, taking in deep breaths and feeling the comfort of the rocking chair as he felt the movement of the baby growing inside of him. He closed his eyes again, taking in a deep breath and feeling grateful for this moment of peace. "I'll always be here for you," he whispered, "and together, we'll face whatever comes our way."
