The House Husband

***LLOYD POV***

I fed the kids dinner, put the boys to bed and now I was sitting with Tula as she got into bed.

"When is mom coming home?" Tula asked and I groaned.

"I don't know." I said.

"She has missed dinner and bedtime for the past million years!" Tula said and I sighed.

"Just for 2 weeks Tula. Mom started a new job and is getting back into the swing of things." I said trying to make the excuse.

"I don't like her working, maybe she should just stay home." Tula said and grabbed her stuffed bear.

"Tula, I know it's hard okay so just stop." I said rubbing my forehead trying not to lose my cool.

"Can you tell me a bedtime story? Mom always does. Claire had been doing it be she isn't home tonight." Tula said and I groaned. I didn't know fairytale shit like Jovi and Claire did.

"Can't I call grandma and have her tell you one?" I asked.

"No daddy! You!" Tula said and I sighed. I just started thinking.

"Once upon a time there was a princess named Rapunzel, she had really long magical hair. Well, her evil stepmother locked her in a tower and made her use her extremely long hair to get in and out of the tower. Which let's face it that's a bitch move. Well while using her hair to let the prince in her tower to rescue her he slipped and fell to his death but pulled Rapunzel from the window and well and she died too. The end, now go to bed." I said and Tula looked at me and I sighed.

"I will brush up on my fairytales, okay?" I said and she nodded. I stood up from where I was sitting on the edge of her bed. I leaned down and kissed her forehead and headed out of the room turning on her nightlight. I shut the door and then leaned against the door and sighed.

Jovi had been coming home later and later every night. She promised no trips and she just took a trip to DC a few days ago. When she came back, she told me it was going to be something new she now had to do at least once every 2 weeks. I had become a house husband. I was cooking for the kids, cleaning up everything, taking care of everything and Jovi was away working.

I walked downstairs to get everything ready for bed. As I walked past the front window I looked outside and I saw a car sitting in the driveway with the lights off. The inside light was on and I saw Jovi sitting in the care with a guy. They were laughing about something, leaning towards each other. I grabbed the gun from the back of my pants and then opened the front door. I stood there holding my gun at my side. Jovi and the guy looked up and I saw her sigh. She said something to him and then got out of the car. He waited until she was at the door to pull away.

***NORMAL POV***

I was sitting in my partners car and we were going over some files we didn't get a chance to go over at the office since we got them as we were leaving. I knew not to take him in the house, the kids would be going to bed and I promise Lloyd I would never bring work on the house.

"So, this guy is a no..." Philip, my partner and recruiter said and handed me the file and I laughed at his file as did Philip.

"He really thinks we can let him in with his list of medical restrictions alone?! Yeah no." I said and we laughed. We started looking over another file and I saw the front door fly open and Lloyd was standing there. I groaned.

"The husband." Philip said and I nodded.

"I better go..." I said and he nodded.

"See you in the morning." Philip said and I got out of the car. I noticed he didn't pull away until I got to the door. I saw Lloyd holding his gun.

"What were you going to do shot us?" I asked walking past Lloyd.

"At least him! Keeping you late like he is." Lloyd said and slammed the front door. I whipped around to look at Lloyd.

"Can you be quiet the kids are asleep!" I growled at him.

"How the fuck would you know?! You haven't bene home for bedtime for 2 weeks! Your own daughter is even noticing now. Preston and DJ have but they won't say anything being tough for Tula. What the fuck is going on Jovi! You sleeping with him? Is that why you have been so late?!" Lloyd said and I just looked at him and huffed a laugh.

"Are you fucking kidding me?! Accusing me of cheating! No Lloyd, I'm not sleeping with Philip I don't think his wife would appreciate that since she is our boss! They haven't had a recruiting office here since you all got recruited! Things are in disarray especially since they want a better screening promise then the last time..." I said and Lloyd scoffed and shook his head.

"This is bullshit! You promised home for dinner! You promised home for bath and bedtime! You promised home so we could have time together! I have gone to bed without for the past 4 nights Jovi!" Lloyd said and I just shook my head and started up the stairs. Lloyd quickly followed and pinned me against the wall.

"So, I can't fuck you some nights. You have a hand, don't you?" I asked and he growled.

"It's not even about that shit Jovi."

"Then what is it Lloyd? Don't like being the one at home to take care of everything?! Newsflash, I've done it for years while you worked! This is my time! I missed working!" I said and Lloyd sighed but didn't release his hold on me.

"I want you home at least at night. You have to have a normal life too Jovi." Lloyd said and I just sighed.

"I will do what I can Lloyd." I said and he growled. He let me go and just walked down the stairs and I knew where he was going. I sighed and went to the bedroom. I changed into some pajamas and then I walked to the attic and checked on the boys kissing both on their foreheads. I walked down to Tula's room and smiled seeing her fast asleep and I walked in. I covered her up from where they had fallen off and then kissed her forehead.

I was fucking up as a mother. I had never been a mother and had a job at the same time. I needed to find a good work/life balance. I then walked down where I knew Lloyd was and sighed when I heard the gun the minute, I opened the door. We built a soundproof shooting ranging in the basement.

I walked up behind Lloyd and wrapped my arms around his waist and leaned my forehead against his back, he continued to shoot. Once he emptied the clip, I heard him sigh. I ran my hands up his torso and he growled.

"I'm sorry." I said and he placed his hands over mine on his chest.

"We need to find a happy ground pumpkin. I know I have left you before and I now see how much shit that was." Lloyd said and I nodded. I walked around to the front of Lloyd and sat on the little stand that was there to set guns on. I pulled Lloyd between my legs and he smiled down at me.

"Do you want me to quit my job?" I asked and Lloyd said shook his head.

"Never, just come home at a decent hour and don't be with other men in our driveway. Next time I shoot." Lloyd said and just sighed shaking my head. He gripped my chin. "I shoot pumpkin, don't fucking tempt me." Lloyd said and I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down to me forcefully kissing him.

"Whatever you say Lloyd." I said once we broke apart.
