I was sitting on the beach as the kids built a couple of sandcastles, and I smiled watching them laugh. I was taking pictures and videos of them.
"Call him Jovi, he's pissed." Melanie said.
"And I'm not speaking to you." I said not looking at my mother.
"Jovi, you don't realize what could have happened being alone like you were and he's worried. He was going to check cameras, but he wants to talk to you." Melanie said and I groaned.
"I can take care of myself and don't need him." I said. I pulled my knees up to my chest and sighed resting my chin on my knees.
"Mom, can we go put our feet in the water?" Preston asked and I nodded.
"You want me to come?" I asked and they nodded. I smiled and got up. I looked at my mom and handed her my phone. "Take some pictures if you can see us." I said and she nodded. I walked to the water with the kids.
***MELANIE POV***
I loved my daughter, but she was an idiot. I quickly and without her knowledge unblocked Lloyds number. I then grabbed my own phone.
MELANIE: Your number is unblocked on Jovi's phone. She doesn't know I did it so call her tonight once we are all in bed.
LLOYD: Thanks Melanie but it won't be necessary.
MELANIE: Why? What is going on?
I didn't get an answer right away.
"Because the job got dealt with and I'm here now." I heard a voice say behind me and I turned to see Lloyd.
"Oh, this isn't going to be fun at all." I said and he groaned.
"She can get over it." Lloyd said and I noticed he was in swim trunks that he brought in Florida. He walked down to the water.
***NORMAL POV***
"DAD!!" Tula screamed and ran to Lloyd as he approached us and the Preston took off. I sighed and crossed my arms still standing in the water.
"I was able to make it." Lloyd said and the kids got excited. He put the kids down and then walked up to me and I didn't uncross my arms and he just looked at me.
"Can't I get a kiss from my loving bitch of a wife who blocked my fucking number making me take this god damn trip and come to her?" Lloyd asked and I shook my head.
"Nope." I said and he gripped my upper arms. It was a tight grip, but he made it not look too menacing.
"Fucking hell Jovi, what were you thinking?! You could have been killed being alone! What would I have done without you if you were?!" Lloyd asked.
"Taken care of the kids alone and found some fucking whore, I'm sure." I said and Lloyd growled.
"Damnit Jovi, stop. Please just fucking stop." Lloyd said and I sighed.
"I was safe Lloyd. Remember how in New York on our date night you told me you were packing?" I asked and he nodded. "Well, you really think I'm always not either, especially when I'm alone with the kids..." I said and he gave me a smirk. He let go of my arms and grabbed my hips. He looked down at my bikini.
"And where might I ask as you hiding a weapon in this?" Lloyd asked and I smiled.
"Wouldn't you like to know." I said and he growled.
"Pumpkin, please don't fuck with my brain, I want to be mad at you." Lloyd said and I smiled.
"I'm sorry I blocked you but don't fucking leave in the middle of the night again." I said and he half nodded.
"I won't." Lloyd said and I nodded. "Now can I kiss you?" Lloyd asked and I nodded. He leaned in and gave me a small kiss. When we broke apart, I sighed.
"I was scared Lloyd. The guy looked familiar. Did you see anything on cams?" I asked and Lloyd shook his head.
"No, he was good at keeping hidden." Lloyd said and I groaned.
"Did you check on Claire?" Lloyd asked.
"Do I look like an amateur? Of course, I called her. Headmistress gave me shit but I got my way." I said and Lloyd smiled.
"That's my girl." Lloyd said and I smiled.
"She is safe. I think we need to make England the next trip." I said and he nodded.
"I do too." Lloyd said and I smiled. I wrapped my arms around Lloyd's neck, and he lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist.
"When I was in Croatia, I was thinking about that life we talking about. I have a place I want us to check on when this is all over, but it isn't in New York." Lloyd said.
"Okay...where are you taking us?" I asked and he smiled.
"Cambridge."
"Cambridge? You want to go back to the Harvard area?" I asked and he nodded.
"I do. We can become alumni, go to the football games...be the typical American family." Lloyd said and I scoffed.
"Cambridge could be nice. They have fall and winter seasons there. The kids would love a white Christmas." I said and Lloyd nodded.
"I found a house though and I think it's perfect." Lloyd said and I smiled with a nod.
"One problem. I didn't go to Harvard like you. I can't be an alumni." I said and he smiled setting me down.
"Well not everyone's perfect." Lloyd said and I smiled shaking my head.
"Nice." I said. I then sighed as we walked back to the kids, holding hands.
"Did you really finish the job?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yeah, guy was an idiot, easy to get caught." Lloyd said and I half nodded.
"No one said criminals were smart." I said and Lloyd nodded. We got back the kids building the sandcastles.
"Dad, can you help me now?" Preston asked and Lloyd nodded as I sat on the blanket. Tula sat in my lap, and we watched Lloyd and Preston work on their sandcastles.
"You two going to be okay?" Melanie asked and I nodded.
"We have somethings to always work out, but we will. We always do." I said and Melanie nodded.
"You know your dad and I never saw eye to eye on a lot of stuff, especially his job. I see a lot of me and your dad in you both. Couldn't see eye to eye much until we bought that house in country." Melanie said and I sighed.
"He wants to leave Croatia. He at first said a place in outskirts of New York but now he is thinking Cambridge." I said and she smiled.
"Because of Harvard?" Melanie asked.
"Because of Harvard."
"And good schools for the kids." Lloyd spoke up joining us. He sat behind me caging me in his legs and I smiled. He wrapped his arms around me and Tula.
"What do you think about Cambridge?" Lloyd asked Melanie.
"As long as we are all together and safe, I will go anywhere." Melanie said and I leaned back into Lloyd.
"Me too." I said and he kissed my cheek. We stayed there for a few minutes before Lloyd spoke up.
"Oh, and Pumpkin..."
"Yes?" I asked looking back at him.
"I like the guards' new outfits." Lloyd said and we laughed.
