"You haven't been home a lot." Noah pointed out as the two sat on the couch watching TV.
"I know, I'm sorry. Work has just been hectic." Victoria said with an apologetic smile.
"How about we head down to that antique shop you like so much?" Noah offered, Victoria was beaming. She loved the antique store. Plus it was two hours away, she loved roadtrips.
"Sure!" She said happily. "Can you drive?" She asked a little more nervously.
"Fine." Noah huffed, but she didn't care. He actually agreed to drive. Of course, she knew he was giving attitude in hopes that she'd insist on driving, but she didn't care. She jumped up off the couch and got dressed, changing out of her sweatpants, that were actually Peter's, and into a pair of distressed mom jeans. She also threw on her favorite dark green sweater. She shoved some cash and a knife into her crossbody purse and was ready to go.
"You ready?" She asked, knowing Noah hadn't moved. "Just have to get dressed." He said, not looking up from his phone.
When Noah put his phone down, he looked around the room. "Where's my clothes?" He asked. Victoria raised an eyebrow at him. "In the closet?" She replied.
"If you expect me to drive, you need to grab my clothes.." Noah said. "You're 30 years old, you can get dressed by yourself. I'm not your mother." Victoria defended.
"Yet you wanted kids? Won't even take care of me.." Noah said under his breath, but Victoria heard him. Her heart broke again at his words, it was only 4 months ago that he informed her they'd never have kids, yet he thought it was okay to joke about. She rolled her eyes and went into the bedroom, grabbing him a simple pair of jeans and a dark green t-shirt, similar in color to her sweater. She came back out, tossing the clothes onto the couch next to him.
"No socks?" He asked.
"You're kind of lazy.." Victoria mentioned as she went back into the bedroom and grabbed a pair of socks, practically tossing them at him. Within a few minutes the two were dressed and ready to go. She was surprised that he really did drive them. Of course he texted the entire way, too.
"Can you not text and drive, please?" She asked sweetly after he swerved out of his lane for the third time. Noah sighed and put his phone away. "Happy?" He asked sarcastically.
Internally, she was screaming. "No, I fucking hate you." But on the outside she was giving him a fake half smile. She was accepting the way the rest of her life would go, mediocre. She was determined to make the best of it.
When the two arrived at the antique store, it wad a massive building. Bigger than Ikea. She held onto his arm as they walked inside, dragging him along the aisles as she looked over every piece. She couldn't help but notice, Noah wasn't even looking at anything. He wasn't even paying attention. He spent the entire time on his phone. As soon as he'd put it away to spend time with her, it would ring or beep, or something and he'd be back on it.
The two walked around for hours, Victoria bought several bookends and a couple of antique looking teacups. Excited to find what she had. She wasn't even sure Noah noticed she bought anything at all with how trapped in his phone he was.
"Could you spend time with me and not your phone, please?" Victoria begged as the two left the antique store, heading for somewhere to have an early dinner.
"Fine." Noah said with a huff. He put his phone in his pocket, raising his hands as if he were surrendering. "Happy?" He asked, Victoria barely contained her eye roll.
Noah drove the two to a steakhouse, Victoria happily ordering prime rib while Noah ordered a burger and fries. "Who goes to a steakhouse and gets a burger?" She teased.
"Someone who doesn't want to eat raw meat." Noah answered with a laugh. "It's not raw, it's rare. How meat should be cooked." She teased.
Noah flagged down the waiter and ordered a mixed drink for himself. "Do you want a crown and redbull?" He asked, Victoria shook her head no.
"Cool, you're driving." He said with a victorious grin, handing her the keys. She did roll her eyes that time, she should have assumed that's why he ordered a drink, he almost never drank.
Victoria ended up having to pay the tab. She drove home without talking. Listening to her music. She never got to listen to her music. They normally drove in silence or to whatever he put on, but since she was driving and he got to drink, she didn't care. She happily sang along to her Bad Omens and Ice Nine Kills the whole way home, not when caring how annoyed Noah looked the entire time.
"You have terrible taste." Noah said when they were almost home.
"Careful, I married you." She joked back at him.
"You don't even like me." Noah said back, Victoria looked at him unamused with a raised eyebrow. "I like you, I married you." She defended. But honestly, lately she didn't like him very much. She wasn't sure if he was being shitty to her, or if she was just on edge lately. Either way, he seemed to be getting on her nerves more than anything else, ever since their anniversary.
"You just want me for my money." He said, she could tell he was joking now, he was smiling at her.
"Right, clearly it's going well for me." She joked back, he still didn't know that she made at least triple his salary.
When they got home, Victoria carried her things from the antique store inside. Noah following behind, smacking her ass. "Bedroom?" He asked. Victoria had to stop herself from rolling her eyes at his attempt at foreplay.
"Got a condom?" She asked, looking back at him. He sighed heavily but nodded.
The two made their way to the bedroom, Victoria quickly stripping her clothes and climbing on the bed to wait for him. He crawled up beside her, putting his arm around her shoulders. His hand trailed down between her legs, rubbing between her folds before finding her clit. He crashed their lips together, kissing her sloppy with teeth and tongue as his fingers worked their way around her clit, finally slipping a finger into her. She made a quiet moan into his mouth as his finger thrusted into her. She tried telling him she liked things rougher, he never listened. He assumed rougher meant painful, so she told him to forget it. He never quite understood that there was a fine line between pleasure and pain.
After a few minutes of fingering her, he climbed up on top of her. He pulled the condom on and lined himself up with her, slowly sinking into her. Her hands fisted the sheets until he was bottomed out, making her quietly moan. The two kissed while he thrusted into her, keeping the same sloppy pace. "You gonna cum for me?" He asked.
"Make me." Victoria teased. She felt his pace quicken after she said that. "I don't have much left, do it." He demanded. Victoria was happy the lights were off, hiding the fact that she rolled her eyes at his statement. Noah brought his hand up, squeezing her throat while he pounded into her. Finally making her feel like she could cum. But she felt his movements slow as his cock twitched inside of her, busting into the condom. He quickly pulled out and headed straight for the bathroom. Leaving Victoria laying in bed, unsatisfied. She let out a quiet sigh and climbed out of bed, using the bathroom before jumping in the shower.
Noah joined her in the shower, he stood behind her while she washed herself, waiting for her to finish up, taking the hot water whenever he had a chance to do so. She climbed out first, letting him finish his shower in peace as she dried and lotioned herself. When she was done and in her pajamas she headed over to the couch, curling up under a blanket to watch a movie with Noah for the rest of the night.
