Victoria walked into the common room, dressed in a simple pair of black dress pants and a nice deep crimson colored blouse. She wasn't really sure what to wear to sign divorce papers, but she assumed it didn't matter. It was just her, Steve and the team of lawyers. Tony decided it was best to let Steve handle it, so he decided to stay home that day. He was only going as emotional support anyway, and Steve was better at that when it came to Victoria. Steve was better at everything when it came to Victoria, like he owned the fucking manual on her heart and soul.

"You ready?" Steve asked when Victoria finally made it out of the elevator. She shrugged nervously, walking right up to him and letting him pull her into his embrace. "Everything's going to be fine, Vic." He promised. He kissed her forehead lightly, his hand holding onto the back of her head, keeping her held against himself.

Victoria clutched onto him, both arms tightly around his torso. While she was excited to be done with this chapter of her life, the one that was tied to Noah, she couldn't stop picturing herself falling down the same path that her father went down. She couldn't stop imagining herself dying in a hospital alone, without even a daughter to sit at her bedside like her dad had. But, at least as she passed, she'd comfort herself with the knowledge of seeing Sarah again.

Steve guided Victoria out to the parking lot, bringing her to his truck before leaning against it and pulling her into his chest again. "I know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours. And you're wrong." He reassured her. "It's one, one divorce. It will only ever be one. Do you know how I know that?" He asked, knowing he wasn't going to get an answer from her. Knowing that her mind was a million miles away, trapped overthinking. "Because there's no chance in hell that I'm letting you go again." He answered his own question.

"Stop knowing me so well." Victoria mumbled into his chest as she hugged onto him.

Steve let out a chuckle from deep within his chest, kissing the top of her head. "That's not going to happen anytime soon, sugar." He said.

The drive to Tony's lawyers office was peaceful, Steve held onto Victoria's thigh the entire drive. His thumb traced along her pants, trying to soothe her worry. Victoria held onto his forearm as he drove, her hands clutching onto him, her head leaned onto his shoulder for emotional support, his scent alone enough to calm her overcrowded mind. By the time they had arrived, Victoria was nervously bouncing her knee, staring out the window at the oversized law office. It was a gorgeous building that just felt expensive, she didn't feel like she belonged. But of course, she didn't. These were Tony's people, simply doing him a service, it had nothing to do with her. They couldn't care less who she was or about her divorce. But she was sure they saw her age and how long they'd been married and judged her, but she also knew with how much Tony paid these people, they wouldn't blink an eye at it, they'd be idiotic to risk Tony Stark's wrath.

Steve parked in the small parking lot designated for the office, quickly hopping out and opening Victoria's door for her. He stayed close by, his hand on the small of her back as they walked in together, the double doors automatically opening as they approached. "Everything is fine, Vic." He reassured her when the cool AC of the building hit them both in the face as soon as they walked in.

"I know, Steve. I just kind of feel like a loser." Victoria said with a small sigh. She elbowed Steve when he laughed under his breath. "Don't laugh at me, asshole. I'm vulnerable." She said in a hushed tone.

"Language." Steve said with a sigh, making Victoria roll her eyes at him. "Just get this part done and we can go on from there, okay?" He asked. Victoria simply nodded, not having the right words if she had tried to formulate them anyway.

"Ms. Alvarez?" A young woman asked as the two approached the receptionist desk next to the elevators.

"Yes, Victoria." Victoria answered nervously.
