Victoria woke up tasting blood, the room was cold and she could feel her arms up above her head. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up, her wrists in rusty shackles attached to a long chain. The chain ran across the ceiling to a pulley on the other end. She was on her knees in the dirt. She jerked at the chains, making a steady rattle that echoed in the otherwise silent room.

At the sound of her moving around, clearly awake. The chain started to pull, forcing her onto her feet. She let out a hiss in pain as the chain pulled at her shoulders, forcing her to stand on her tiptoes to relieve the pain. But everything was still fairly dark.

"We won't kill you, we need you." A man said. He walked into the room and up to her, until he was standing a few inches from her.

"Me? I'm a nobody." Victoria said with a grin.

"Very true. But you successfully bonded with the serum without being given it directly. We want to know how. None of our subjects have been able to bond with the serum. They've either died or it did nothing." The man explained calmly.

"And how did you manage to get your hands on the serum? It died with hydra.." Victoria spat. The man laughed. "No, my dear, it died with The Flagsmashers. John Walker being the last one with the new serum alive." He countered.

"Are you working for that wackjob or just hoping to be like him? Either way, you've picked a shitty career path.." Victoria said sarcastically.

"You talk to much." The man said with an annoyed huff. He pulled the chain a little higher, lifting her just a hair above the ground. Her shoulders ached from being forced to support her weight. Her wrists ached from being pulled in the shackles.

"You think that's going to shut me up? I can do this all day." Victoria said with a grin.

"Of course you can. Because everything special about you came from Captian Rogers himself." The man said, rolling his eyes as he did so.

"Hurtful. And here I thought we could be friends, braid each other's hair, have slumber parties and get matching tattoos. Darn." Victoria said, raising an eyebrow at him.

The man grunted in annoyance before roughly punching Victoria in the face. She threw her head back before making eye contact with him again. "I feel like you know I have the serum, you didn't really think a bitch smack like that was going to knock me out...did you?" She teased. When the man hesitated she decided to push her luck. "You did? Oh my God that's so embarrassing for you.." She said, making a cringy face at the man. Sometimes she hated her desire to pick at people, it got her into situations like this, but she couldn't stop herself. Plus, it wasn't like she was getting out of there until they decided on it.

"Shut up already!" The man spat. He stabbed a needle into her neck, that's when things went fuzzy again. Last thing she saw and felt was the chain being lowered until she was on her knees again.

Victoria woke up somewhere new, but she felt the familiar shackles on her wrists. The room, however, was cold. Far too cold, almost felt like a freezer, she felt a row of goosebumps up her arms, thankful to be in a long sleeved shirt still, but one sleeve was bunched up past her elbow she could feel a cool breeze on her skin, she could feel a needle in her arm, jerking as much as she could. But whoever and whatever they were doing had a firm grip on her.

"Stop moving." The man said with a huff. Victoria opened her eyes, making eye contact with no other than John Walker.

"Why do you need me if you're here?" She asked, rolling her eyes. She noticed they weren't injecting her with anything, they were taking vials of her blood. She hoped they weren't taking everything, she prayed they weren't planning to bleed her dry. She also noticed bruises along the bend of her elbow from them taking blood several other times since she was knocked out. It made her wonder how long she had been there. Based on the bruising, some of it yellowing, she'd been there for at least a day or 2.
