"I wouldn't go down there, Mr. Barnes." Peter said to Bucky as Bucky made his way to the elevator.
"What do you mean? I'm supposed to train with Victoria.." Bucky mentioned. He did, however, stop and listen to what Peter had to say.
"She's uh.. I don't really know how to explain it." Peter said nervously. Bucky clenched his jaw. "Try." He demanded.
"Unhinged? Yeah, that's the word." Peter said nervously.
"How about you explain this very clearly for me right now." Bucky said sternly.
"O-okay...fine. Vic only listens to a specific playlist when she's. Well...when she's not doing well. Everyone kind of silently understands to leave her and Steve alone down there." Peter explained.
"Not doing well?" Bucky asked with a raised eyebrow.
"When everything's fucked up in her head." Nat interrupted. "She blares the same damn playlist, way too loud and her and Steve kick the ever loving shit out of each other until she's so tired that she collapses." She explained.
Peter nervously snuck away, he didn't care for Bucky and he didn't want to have to explain anything else either. He made his way up to his apartment, asking FRIDAY to notify him if Victoria needed him.
"I'm going down there, I'll let her kick my ass." Bucky said to Nat when the two were alone, continuing his trip to the elevator.
"It's better if you let Steve deal with it." Nat suggested.
"She's having a mental breakdown in the gym. I'm going down there to check on her." Bucky said sternly. "Why is it that none of you care?" He asked. He only just moved back to the compound a year ago, so he knew everyone else knew her better than him. But he was alarmed that everyone else just ignored the signs that she's clearly dealing with something.
"Steve can handle it." Nat reassured him.
"You know something, don't you?" Bucky asked.
"I know more than you do." Nat said confidently. "Leave her alone. She'll spar until she has no energy left, pass out, Steve will take her upstairs to sleep it off. She'll come in next week like it never happened."
"Listen, do whatever you want. But they don't know that I know anything. I'd like to keep it that way." Nat said as she walked away, leaving Bucky standing in front of the elevator. He debated for several minutes before deciding to head down to the gym anyway.
When Bucky reached the gym, he was surprised to hear some type of screaming metal music blaring through the entire gym, loud enough that he couldn't hear anything else. He made his way through the gym until he reached the ring, seeing Victoria and Steve ruthlessly sparring. Steve had the shield, Victoria had several knives and a gun strapped to her and a knife in her hand. Steve turned his head when he heard Bucky, raising his shield to block Victoria from stabbing him. "Take a break." Steve said sternly. He jumped out of the ring to talk to Bucky.
"Not a good time, Buck." Steve said quietly. He sighed and raised his shield right as Victoria shot at the two. Bucky whipped his head around and stared at her in shock, real bullets.
"I said take a break." Steve said again. Victoria rolled her eyes and climbed out of the ring, singing along to her music as she made her way to her water. She was reduced to her sports bra and a pair of Nike workout shorts that barely covered her juicy ass. Her luscious curls were piled high on top of her head in an oversized bun and sweat glistened from her entire body.
"The hell is going on down here?" Bucky asked.
"It's nothing, don't worry about it." Steve said with a shrug.
"I don't know, man. I'm kinda worried about it, Parker tells me she's unhinged and she just shot at us." Bucky argued.
"She just needs to get some frustrations out. We do this a couple of times a year." Steve confessed.
"I'll take over." Bucky offered. Steve hesitated for a moment but nodded.
"Don't kill him, Vic." Steve said as he moved to sit down in one of the chairs. Victoria was already standing in the ring waiting. Bucky climbed in the ring with Victoria.
"You going to talk about it?" He asked. Victoria shook her head no, singing along to the music as she lunged at Bucky. Victoria was ruthless, he could tell she wasn't sparring but actually fighting. He could tell she had full intentions of hurting him if she got the chance, he could tell she'd be perfectly fine with being hurt as well.
After sparring for over an hour, Bucky straight armed hit her in the chest, knocking her to the ground. Victoria quickly put her hands behind her head, arching her back and jumping up. She swung her leg up, jumping and kicking him across the face. Bucky caught her leg, throwing her against the ropes. She quickly jumped up, running towards him. She dropped down to her knees, sweeping her leg and knocking Bucky's legs out from under him. He fell with a rough thud, grabbing onto Victoria and pinning her under him as he fell. His hand gripped onto both of her wrists, holding her arms above her head as he straddled her waist. His feet held her legs down against the mat so she couldn't kick him.
"Talk. Now." Bucky demanded as Victoria panted under him.
"There's nothing to talk about. I'm just stuck in my own head, this is the only way I know how to fix it." Victoria explained. She relaxed her body, hoping Bucky would let go when he realized she wasn't going to fight him anymore.
"About what?" Bucky asked. He left her wrists in his hand, if he was being honest, he liked the look of her like this. Pinned under him, submissive, staring up at him through her eyelashes.
"It doesn't matter." Victoria said calmly.
"You shot at me." Bucky reminded her.
"You've shot me." Victoria countered with a laugh. She was grateful that Bucky wasn't so upset with himself about their sparring, that she was actually able to joke about it without upsetting him.
"Let it go, Buck." Steve said.
"Is there something I'm missing?" Bucky asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Nope." Victoria lied. Steve sighed and came and stood at the ring. "Are you okay now? Or do we need to keep going?" He asked.
"Keep going." Victoria said, turning her head to look at Steve.
"You're not done until you're unconscious, are you?" Bucky asked, Victoria shrugged.
"Just until it isn't so loud in my head anymore." She corrected.
Steve joined the two in the ring, making Victoria spar them together. Making her try to take them both down while they teamed up against her. They fought for at least another hour, until Bucky swung on her and she simply flopped onto the mat face down. Bucky stared down at her confused but stopped his attack. "You done?" He asked. Victoria rolled onto her back and nodded.
"How about a shower and dinner?" Steve suggested. Victoria shook her head but took Steve's hand, letting him pull her up up her feet. "My day is done, I need to go home. Noah is probably already waiting." She replied.
"Isn't he the reason you wanted to come down here and fight?" Bucky asked. Victoria climbed out of the ring and collected her stuff, chugging the rest of her water as she slipped her shoes on.
"Nope. See you Monday." Victoria said with a nod, stepping on the elevator without another word.
"It's only Thursday, she's off the rest of the week?" Bucky asked.
"Yep, takes it off every year." Steve said. He also made his way to the elevator, headed for a shower before dinner with the team. Bucky just stood in the ring, lost. What the hell was that?
