Chapter 40

Steve was in the gym while Bucky and Victoria were on their date. He felt odd that he didn't feel any sort of negative way about it. He was curious if they were having fun, but he wasn't jealous or upset. He was... content. For that, it solidified his decision for both him and Bucky to date her.

Steve's phone rang while he was at the punching bag, making him stop and answer a call from Bucky. "What's up, man?" He asked curiously. It made him worry that something was wrong if Bucky was calling.

Bucky laughed nervously on the other end. "Can you come get Victoria's prizes? Our girl got a giant stuffed smore, forgot we were on the bike." He said with a laugh.

Victoria smiled at Bucky's phrasing. At "our girl." She loved how fitting it sounded and how easily he said it.

Steve laughed, heading out of the gym. "Yep, text me an address." He said before hanging up the phone.

Bucky had headed back inside to grab Victoria a to-go cup full of her mixed drink of the night. She sat sideways on Bucky's bike, swinging her legs as she hugged her smore and sipped her tequila while waiting for Steve. Bucky stood behind her, letting her rest her back against his chest. He stood behind her, with his hands on her hips, admiring how flawless she looked and how carefree she looked as she swung her legs like a child and sipped her liquor. The combination had him laughing. Here Victoria was, the most gorgeous woman he'd ever met, a stunning Cuban goddess, hugging a giant smiling stuff smore.

"What's the next part of our date?" Victoria asked. She tilted her head back against Bucky's chest until she could stare up at him.

Bucky laughed, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "We're going to one of the tallest buildings in the city to watch the stars and the buildings all lit up at and after sunset." He said casually.

Victoria almost dropped her smore, but luckily, Bucky caught it. But she gripped onto the back of his neck and pulled his lips to hers. She loved that he'd put so much effort into their date. She loved that he was the one that said no sex, that he wanted them to be more than that.

Steve pulled up to see the two kissing, smiling and shaking his head as he pulled up behind them. "I thought you were kidding about a giant smore." He said with a laugh once he'd gotten out of the car.

Victoria broke the kiss, smiling at Steve. "Nope. I got a giant unicorn floaty, too!" She bragged happily.

Steve shook his head at her, coming up to her as she sat on Bucky's bike and stole a kiss. "And what do you plan to do with a giant unicorn floaty?" He asked with a raised eyebrow after their kiss.

"Work on my tan, obviously." Victoria said with a laugh. With her dad's complection, she didn't need to sit out in the sun to look tan. But the thought of hanging out on a giant unicorn all day in the pool sounded nice.

"Right. Clearly, you're white as a ghost." Steve teased. He stole another kiss and took the stuffed smore and the inflatable from Bucky, giving him a quick nod before loading them in his car. "Yall off to another stop?" He asked curiously.

Victoria looked over at him, wondering if he didn't like this arrangement. "Can we?" She asked.

Steve sighed, frowning as he approached Victoria. He worried that he did or said something to make her think she needed his approval. "Sugar, it's your date." He said calmly. His hand rubbed up and down her arm lightly.

Victoria stared up at him, unsure if he was really fine with this. But Steve kept talking before she could respond. "Just don't commit any felonies and I don't care what you two do, sugar. As long as you're having fun, okay?" He promised.

Steve stole another kiss from Victoria, clapping Bucky on the shoulder before heading back to his car. "Take care of her." He said to Bucky.

"I got it, punk!" Bucky promised. He waited until Victoria sucked down the last of her drink, handing him the empty Styrofoam cup before hopping on his bike.
