Chapter 42

Victoria was in the lab all morning. She'd skipped breakfast, lunch, and her daily training with the guys to work on reports FRIDAY had gotten about a possible new scientist for John Walker. She was desperate to find him. It had been months since they'd gotten any reports of seeing Walker. There hadn't been a peep about him or from him in the 5 months since Victoria moved into the compound and started dating the guys. It was infuriating.

"FRIDAY, I need thermal scans on the lower levels of the building." Victoria called out.

"Right away, Mrs. Barnes - Rogers." FRIDAY called out. Victoria stopped, staring up at nothing in pure confusion. Was she being pranked? "FRIDAY, who changed my name in your system and when?" She asked.

"Mr. Stark changed your name this morning." FRIDAY answered. Victoria sat there, confused for a few minutes before hopping up and heading toward Tony's office. She let herself in and took a seat at his desk. "Tony." She said flatly.

Tony smiled up at Victoria, closing out of what he was working on to give her his full attention. "Good afternoon, bunny. How's work going?" He asked casually.

Victoria rolled her eyes at Tony. "Cut the shit. What do you know?" She asked.

Tony grinned, crossing his ankle over his knee. "Everything. Have since the beginning." He said with a knowing smirk. He'd known since the week Victoria had to take off because of the morning after pill. He was so worried about her that he'd checked the cameras to see if she looked okay when she came in that morning, only to see that she'd came the night before and stayed in Steve's room. FRIDAY also told him that Bucky had gone in the room in the evening and never came back out until morning.

Victoria blushed, staring down at her hands in her lap. She picked at her nails nervously. "Tony.." She said quietly. She didn't really know what to say. She wasn't sure if he would be upset or judge her or how he'd feel. She was also nervous he'd told the whole team and would be looked at like some kind of social outcast. The last thing she wanted was to cause issues with the guys and the team or with her and the team.

Tony waved her off, moving to join Victoria on the other side of the desk. "Not judging, kid. Kinda proud, actually. I don't see it, but it seems like the ladies love those two and Thor. You managed to score two of them. I'm impressed. Of course, I take the credit as your fill in dad." He bragged, laughing when Victoria elbowed him. "FRIDAY will only call you that in privaye, I just needed you know that I knew. She'll never say it around the team. I just didn't know how to tell you I knew." He admitted.

Victoria smiled at that, letting Tony pull her into a side hug. "You're a pain in my ass." She said with a laugh. Tony kissed her temple, rolling his eyes at her. "Right back at ya, bunny." He said with a laugh.

"Mrs. Barnes - Rogers, your thermal scans are done." FRIDAY announced.

Tony busted out laughing at that, Victoria rolled her eyes. "Change it back, Tony." She said. She hopped up, heading back into her section of the lab to check on the scans. Ignoring Tony dramatically yelling "Never!" As she walked away from his office.

Victoria spent the next several hours checking the thermal scans and the audio surveillance she had running on the warehouse. It definitely seemed as if the workers here knew they were being listened to. They spoke in code. But it sounded promising enough to check out. She could have sworn she had heard John Walker's voice a few times.

Bucky headed down to the lab, confused and concerned that Victoria had not only skipped training but had skipped all three meals today. He was hoping that meant someone was bringing her food. But he and Steve had been called away to get some Intel, so they'd been gone all day. He smiled when he saw his girl. She was sitting on the floor in the lab, her laptop in front of her. She was wearing her usual leggings and what looked like one of his shirts. Her hair was in a mess of a bun on top of her head, and her shoes weren't even on. "Have you been down here all day, doll?" He asked.
