Bucky headed back to the compound on his bike, desperately needing a shower. His clothes were covered in blood spatter from John, his left hand still stained with blood. When he pulled into the compound, he took a few minutes in the garage to compose himself. He knew he'd be bombarded with questions. What did John say? Why did he hit him? He didn't have answers he was willing to give to anyone but Steve.

When Bucky made his way into the compound, no surprise, the entire team, minus Steve, was waiting for him.

"We heard you almost killed him. Why?" Sam asked. Bucky rolled his eyes, letting out a deep sigh.

"The hell do you mean, why? He captured Vic." Bucky spat. He walked past the group and towards his apartment for a shower. He took a long, hot shower, John's words replaying in his head. He wanted to scream, punch a hole in the wall like he wished Tony would've let him do with John's chest. He wished he wasn't held back, that he could've killed John for manipulating Victoria.

Bucky's shower took longer than usual, everything weighing heavily on his mind. But when he was done he changed into a plain black t-shirt and a black pair of sweatpants before heading out to his livingroom, not even surprised when Steve was sitting on his couch.

"What did he say?" Steve asked coldly.

Bucky sighed, sitting down on the other end of the couch. "He wanted Vic to help him kill you and take the shield." He started off with, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table.

"I know, Vic told me that in the hospital. She wouldn't have went against the team, Buck." Steve reassured him.

"I know, but he tried to convince her to." Bucky said.

"I figured. What did he do?" Steve asked. Victoria didn't go into detail about that day, she kept the details brief. She hadn't even mentioned anything that happened that day after she got out of the hospital, she avoided the topic completely until today when Nat asked her about it. He was surprised Nat had gotten that much information out of her.

"He tried to convince her that she wanted revenge on you, said you threw her away like trash for killing your daughter.." Bucky admitted with a rough sigh. Steve shot his head up, looking over at Bucky both infuriated and heartbroken. He jumped up from his seat. "I gotta go, man." Steve said, rushing out the door. He had to talk to Victoria, he had to make sure she knew that wasn't true. He knew that had to be the reason she wasn't talking to him.

Steve practically ran to the garage, jumping on his bike and speeding off towards Victoria's apartment. He didn't want to take his truck, he figured he'd get there faster on the bike, he could weave in and out of traffic that way.

When he reached her apartment, he parked in the empty spot next to Victoria's car and ran towards her door. He stood in the hallway for a minute, composing himself. He hadn't even thought about what he was going to say, he hadn't even thought about anything. He just knew he had to see her when Bucky told him what made him so mad.

Finally, Steve knocked firmly on her door. He heard chatter on the inside for a moment before Noah opened the door. "Hey, what's up spangles?" Noah asked, giving a half smile when he saw Steve.

"Stark sent me to talk to Vic. Can I borrow her for a few minutes?" Steve asked, skipping pleasantries.

"Come on in, man. She's in the shower." Noah said, stepping aside to let Steve in. But Steve stayed in the doorway. "It's private, and important." Steve said. Noah nodded in understanding, leaving the front door open and heading towards the bedroom. Steve listened as Noah knocked on the bathroom door and let himself in.

"Yo, Steve Rogers is here for you." Noah had said. Steve heard Victoria let out a quiet sigh, still in the shower. "I'm a little busy. Ask what he wants." Victoria replied.
