Everyone in the academy felt great despair and melancholy, watching their loved ones, friends, siblings, and part of their family vanish in the air. Even the fireflies lost their shine that night. 
 
It was too late for Nero and Tedson; Shiro had been taken away from them. Shiro's fate was revealed to his uncle's eyes the moment large flames crashed onto her. And the most painful thing is that he can’t do anything to change it. 

"No... why? Why her? " Nero shouted, looking at the flames with begging eyes. "Bakit hindi nalang ako?" 

Tedson moved and hugged his nephew, who was falling into despair.
