Sidharth's P.O.V.

"I have a confusion and I need answers for it," she said. In my mind, I got scared. Was she going to ask about the kiss earlier? If she does, what do I tell her? That I love her? No, I can't do that. She loves Aditya. I can't confuse her or jeopardise our friendship because of my feelings. "Can I ask you something?" She asked. I lowered my eyes and said, "Sure." "If you have feelings for two different people, how do you know which one to choose?" She asked, startling and confusing me. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Not in a bad way but, if you like two persons at once, who do you choose?" She asked. "What kind of question is that? You can't love two persons the same way. You will always have a stronger feeling for one more than the other. And if that's the case then, that's nothing less than cheating in a relationship," I said. She frowned and lowered her eyes sadly. "Is that what you wanted to ask?" I asked. "I...." she said a bit agitated and stopped, looking at me for a brief while. "You...." I said. "It's nothing," she said and left the kitchen. I stood, thinking if I offended her for a while but was soon overcome with confusion. "Why was she asking me this?" I asked myself.

The next day I got up and got ready and went outside to meet Aditya waiting for Shehnaaz. "Good morning," he said to me with a smile. "Good morning," I said. "I came to pick up Shehnaaz," he said. I frowned and buttoned my blazer saying, "Shehnaaz isn't leaving this house until everything settles down." "But..." he started when Daksh stopped him saying, "Didn't you hear what he said? Shehnaaz will not be leaving the house without Sidharth's personal protection." He frowned and sighed. "I think we should just leave that unto Shehnaaz to decide what she wants," he said. He looked over me and said with a smile, "Here she comes." I turned around and looked at her walking to me with a small smile. For a moment, my heart felt as if it stopped beating seeing her beauty. I held my breath as she came and stopped in front of me, looking confidently into my eyes. People are terrified to even glance at these eyes and she has the courage to stare into them. But even I know that she is different from anyone else I ever met in this life. "Good morning," she greeted me with a smile. "Good morning," I said with a straight face to hide any admiration visible for her in front of everyone. I went to the dining table and unfortunately had to listen to their conversation. "Sheh, I have come to take you with me to work. You will be bored staying in this house for too long. I really think if you go out a bit it will help take your mind off of things a bit," he said, convincingly. Shehnaaz was silent. I dared not turn to look at her as I forced food down my throat, unable to handle the tense atmosphere forming. "Aditya, I don't think that is such a good idea right now. I am a target for those gangsters and going out will be risky for me," she said. "But isn't Sidharth a gangster also?" He said. I remained quiet for Shehnaaz's sake. I got up from the table, pushing the chair back with my knees with the noise directed their attention to me. I wiped my lips with a napkin and walked up to them.

"If you want to go with him, you can. I will send Daksh with you for your protection," I said. "You only trust yourself to protect me. Why send someone else and add stress to your mind while you work all day," she said. "I trust Daksh as much as I trust myself," I said. "But I only trust you," she said leaving me taken aback. "Don't you trust me enough to take care of you?" Aditya asked. She turned to him. "Shehnaaz, we will be getting married so why can't you trust me?" He asked. I knew she was being torn between us and to lessen this I said, "Go with him." She turned to me surprised. I looked at her reassuring and nodded. "Oh wow!" Aditya exclaimed, "So, now, he will determine what you can do or not? He says don't go, you won't go. He says go, you go? Is he your father?" She stepped closer to him and held his hand saying embarrassed, "Aditya, what are you talking? Is this the way to speak? Apologise." He shook his head, stepping away from her and said, "No! This is insane. He might be the boss of your life but not mine." He left angrily and Shehnaaz stood with tears glistening in her eyes. "Go," I said. "But..." she started. "Trust me. Go with him," I said. She left behind him, running out. "Daksh," I said. "Yes sir," he answered. "Take the car out. I'll drive," I said and returned to my room. I changed my clothes into something more casual and wore a jeans, T-shirt and leather jacket. I went back down the stairs and drove a distance behind Aditya's car. "Sir, are you going to spy on Shehnaaz for today?" Daksh asked. "I am not spying on her. I am looking out for her," I said. He smiled, amused and turned his head away. "Why the smile?" I asked. "I have never seen The Sidharth Shukla in this form. It feels good to see you caring about Shehnaaz so much," he said. I looked at him with a small glare which didn't affect his smile whatsoever. I knew in my heart that I made it obvious a lot of times how much I care about Shehnaaz but I really don't care about what anyone would say.
