Sidharth's P.O.V.
I got up from the dining table and stepped closer to the door of the house while I waited for Daksh to answer his phone. The phone kept ringing but there was no answer and I tried again, getting a bit concerned since this never happens. After two tries, Daksh answered the phone in a panting, weak voice, "Hello?" I immediately felt worried as I asked, "Daksh? What happened? Are you okay?" "No sir," he said. "I'm coming to you right now," I said. "No need sir. You won't be able to help me anyways," he said. "What happened? And where are you?" I asked, panicking. "At home. In my toilet," he said, "I am paying the consequences of eating so much of my dear sister's food." I dropped my shoulders, heaving a big sigh. "I can't even leave my toilet, sir," he said. "Idiot! You scared the hell out of me," I said, gritting my teeth. "Sorry sir," he said. "There are only two days before the wedding. Who is going to manage everything without you?" I asked. "Sir, I will send a wedding planner for the day. Please, spare me for now," he said. "Okay. I am sending some medicines with Suresh for you. Take care and take some rest," I said. "Bye sir," he said and hung up. Shehnaaz came to me asking, "Where is Daksh?" I looked at her, amused as I couldn't wait to make a bit of fun out of her with Daksh. "He isn't going to come because of you," I said, making a fake frown. Her face dropped. "What do you mean?" She asked. "I told you. He isn't going to come because of you," I said. "Because of me? But why?" She asked, surprised. "Because of what you did to the poor guy last night?" I said. "What did I do?" She asked, confused. "Think back and you will remember," I said and left her there. I went up to my room and took out a suit from my closet. She followed me and looked at my suit with a frown. "Are you going to work?" She asked.
"Yes. I have some important clients to meet. It's just some two hours max work and I'll be back," I said, taking off my kurta. "But you said that you won't be working until after our wedding," she said, disappointed, "And Daksh can also help out with the office in your absence." "Yeah if he was the head of the company he could have signed the contract," I said, jokingly. She pouted saying, "This is not fair." I dropped my suit on my bed and went up to her. Holding her shoulders, I made her understand, "My love, do you want me working on our wedding day?" "Absolutely not!" She said. "Then I have to go really quick to the office, sign some papers and I will be back before you can miss me. I want to finish this before the wedding else it will be too late for me," I said. "It's that important?" She asked. I kissed her hair and nodded. "Fine. I am letting you go this time but after this, you aren't leaving the house until after our wedding. Do you understand?" She said. "Yes boss," I said. "Go quick and come back quicker," she said. She tiptoed and pulled me down as she kissed my cheek. I quickly wrapped my arms around her before she dropped. "Only one I am getting?" I asked. "When you come back, you will get more," she said. "I will be looking forward to it," I said. Chuckling, she said, "Get ready. I am going to check on Meeta and Ajay." "You ready me, no?" I said, pouting. "If I go to do that, you won't go to work and I won't leave this room soon," she said. "What a way to keep me from leaving," I said, smirking as I looked at her lips. Slowly, I began going closer and closer to her. Just as I was about to lay my lips on hers, she pushed me backwards and I crashed on my bed. She giggled as she said, "My cute mafia, get ready and go to work. Your husband duties will commence once you are back." She left me once more not being able to get a kiss.
Shehnaaz's P.O.V.
I went downstairs and as I entered the kitchen, I saw Ajay and Meeta romancing. "Sorry, sorry, sorry," I said, turning my back to them, startling them, "I'll come back later." "Di, what are you saying? This is your house," Meeta said. "No, no, it's okay. You two continue. I'll be back. Sidharth is going to work anyways so I am going to see if he needs anything," I said and left them, chuckling. As I reached back at the bottom of the staircase, Sidharth met up with me, all ready. "After so long I am seeing you in a suit. Now you are looking like my mafia," I said, smirking. "Should I take off my clothes and show you your exclusive Sidharth?" He asked, flirtatiously. I lowered my eyes, shyly. "What are you saying?" I said, blushing. "Don't blush too much," he said in his normal tone, "Think about why Daksh didn't come to work because of you." I frowned as I remembered. "Tell me why? And what did I do?" I asked, getting more and more scared. "Think about it. I'll see you later," he said and left. I frowned as I looked at him leaving. I decided to call Daksh myself to see what problem I caused for him and went to my room for my phone. I called him multiple times but his phone kept ringing and he didn't answer. I began to get agitated as I couldn't get through to him. "Di," Meeta said, coming behind me. I jumped as she startled me. Looking at me with a worried frown, she asked, "Is everything okay?" "I don't know," I said. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Daksh isn't answering my calls. He refused to come to work today because of something I did last night," I said, anxiously, "But what did I do, I don't know." "Di, why are you so worried about him? He's just a worker. He must have made up some excuse to skip work today. Chill out," she said, carefree.
Shaking my head, I said, "You won't understand what he has become to me in this short period of time. He has become my brother. He has done so much for me that anything I do will possibly fall short to repay what he did. He isn't just a worker but he is family. Both for me and for Sidharth." "You have come this close to everyone here?" She asked. "They have protected me everyday since I left home. If it weren't for these people, truly, I would have been dead by now," I said as she immediately covered my mouth. "What rubbish are you saying? Please, don't utter such words," she scolded. She hugged me saying, "You don't know what you mean to us. Our lives would have been finished if anything happened to you." Parting, she continued, "I am very happy that you are so happy. After years of waiting for your prince, he is here to give you the happiness you deserve and unlock all the good luck in your life." "If Sidharth is the love of my life, Daksh is the big brother I always needed to protect me. I have to meet him and fix whatever I have done wrong," I said. "Do you know where he lives?" She asked. "Yes," I said. "Then go. I will try to manage the arrangements over here in the meanwhile," she said. I smiled and cupped her cheeks. Taking my bag, I went downstairs but as I opened the door, I saw a young woman standing there. She looked at me from head to toe and asked, "Is this Shukla Mansion?" "Yes. How may I help you?" I asked. "I am here to meet Sidharth. It's urgent so I think you should call him ASAP," she said. She stepped inside, lightly pushing me aside and looked around. Meeta came up to me asking, "Who is she?" "I don't know," I said, shrugging my shoulders.
Turning to me, she said, filled with attitude, "What are you waiting for? Go and call your boss." "Excuse me?" I said, "I am...." Before I could complete she cut me off saying, "I don't need to know who you are because by the looks of it, you clearly are some new servant in this house." "Listen...." Meeta said, gritting her teeth but I held back her hand, stopping her. She looked at me annoyed. The girl sat on the sofa and began looking at her phone. Judging by her mannerisms, she seemed extremely comfortable in this house. Until I didn't know who she was, I couldn't tell her anything so I decided to call Sidharth. I tried calling him over and over but he didn't answer. I waited about an hour and continued trying to get through to Sidharth but his phone was switched off now. I went to the girl and said, "It seems like Sidharth is busy in his meeting. He is not picking up my calls." She looked up at me with her eyes a bit widened as she stood up and folded her arms. "Sidharth...?" She said, "You call your boss by his first name?" "I am not Sidharth's worker," I said. "Whatever," she said, rolling her eyes. I had enough of her attitude and said, "Listen I am not saying anything to you but that doesn't mean that you come into my house and behave like this. Have your parents never taught you manners or have you forgotten them?" She looked at me, visibly annoyed. "If you don't have any manners to speak to anyone then learn to shut up," she said. "If you don't have manners to be in public or someone's home, then learn to stay at home," I said. "How dare you!" She said, furious. She raised her hand to hit me but I grabbed onto it, stopping her. Now, I was furious. "Who the hell do you think you are?" I said, pushing her hand away. "You...." she said, pointing her finger at me but stopped and Sidharth said at the door, "Anu...???"
I turned around and looked at him frowning at the door with surprise in his eyes. "Sidhu!!!!" The girl exclaimed as she ran to him, throwing herself onto him and hugging him. "Heyyy!!!" He said, happily as he span her around in his arms. I looked on a bit taken aback. "When did you come?" He asked, dropping her on her feet. "I came back this morning and from the airport, I landed straight here," she said. "You have awesome timing," he said, "Guess what? I am getting married in two days." Her face immediately dropped as she went silent. "Married? To who?" She asked, shocked. Sidharth smiled as he led her to me. "Anu, meet my soon to be wife, Shehnaaz," he said, "And Shehnaaz, meet my childhood friend, Anu." She frowned at me. I was surprised he introduced her as his childhood friend because he never once mentioned her before. "This is your fiancé?" She asked, looking at me, clearly unhappy. "Isn't she the most beautiful girl you ever laid eyes on?" Sidharth said, coming to my side and wrapping his arm around me. She gave him a forced smile and held his hand, pulling him back to her side saying, "Leave all of this. I have so much to talk to you about. We have to catch up on the last ten years. I have to know everything about your updated life." "Of course," he said. Looking at me, she said, "If you don't mind, can you bring two coffees to Sidhu's room?" I frowned as I looked at him. "Are you going somewhere?" He asked, looking at my bag. "Yes. I have some work to do. I will be back in a while," I said, clearly disturbed at their closeness and her behaviour. "Where...." he started but she butted in saying, "Sidhu, stop wasting time and let's go." She started pulling him away as I stood and looked on silently.
