Sidharth's P.O.V.
Going to Shehnaaz's room, I handed her a towel from her cupboard and sent her into the bathroom. I looked through her clothes and realised that she had a little variety to wear. A lot of the times she repeats her outfits and jewellery. An idea popped into my mind and I decided that I will get a designer to design some new clothes for her or go shopping with her and buy the best of the best for my princess. I selected a suit for her and laid it on the bed. Going to her dresser, I chose a pair of earrings for her and some bangles. By the time she finished her bath and came out in her bathrobe, I was done selecting her clothes. I turned and looked at her, with her wet hair, messy over her shoulders and a few strands falling over her face. Her pure beauty took my breath away as I took looking at her in awe. "Like what you see?" She asked, teasingly. I slowly walked closer to her saying, "I love what I am seeing. I can sit and look at this view the entire day." She stole her gaze away from me shyly as I held onto the robe and pulled her closer to me. "If you keep getting me weak like this, how do you expect me to go to work?" I whispered. I took a deep breath and inhaled the fragrance of jasmine coming from her. "Stop doing this to me. I can't concentrate," I said. She rested her palms against my chest and gently pushed me away. "Mr. Shukla, concentrate. You have to get me ready," she said. "Remain like this, no?" I said, with puppy eyes. "Come on," she said, giggling as she pushed me backwards. She looked at the suit on the bed and smiled. "Nice choice," she said. "Why didn't you tell me that you need to go shopping?" I asked, laying relaxed on the bed. "Who told you I need to go shopping?" She asked taking it up, "I have so much of clothes, I don't need any more." "You only have about fifteen suits inside there. That's not enough for my baby to wear," I said. "Fifteen is way more than I had at home also. This is more than enough," she said.
I wasn't going to argue with her but I already decided firmly in my head also that I am going to get her new clothes so I was going to get her new clothes. She's my queen and she must be treated like one. She snapped her fingers in front of me, bringing me back to myself. "Go out for a minute, I need to change," she said. I frowned, getting up, saying, "You said it yourself that I have to get you ready. You got me ready, I am going to do the same." I snatched the clothes from her hands. "Getting you ready is different," she said, pulling the clothes away from me. I grabbed it back saying, "How so?" "Because I am a girl," she said, taking it back. "You are my girl," I said, snatching it back. She looked at me quietly. I sighed and said, "Okay, I have a solution." "What is it?" She asked. I smiled and closed my eyes. "It's okay now, right?" I asked. "You really do respect me so much?" She asked. I opened my eyes to see her emotional smile. "You never judged me for my past. You never made me sit and feel sorry for what happened to me, what that monster did to me..." she said but I placed my finger on her lips stopping her, saying, "Shhhh...what he did showed how much he is not a man. No one can call himself a man and hide and terrorise someone like that. Whatever happened wasn't your fault. You are the victim and your perpetrator already got his punishment." She hugged me slowly and said, "You always prove everytime that you are my saviour, my protector, my hero." "I don't just say it like that that you are the most important person to me. I can do anything for you," I said. She looked up at me with a smile and said, "I love you." "I love you more," I said, kissing her forehead. I closed my eyes and took the suit from her hand. "You will dress me like this?" She asked. "Any problem?" I asked.
She pinched my cheeks saying, "You're the cutest." Along with her little help and guidance, I managed to get the suit on her without once opening my eyes. Finishing, she held onto my arms and I opened my eyes. "Thank you," she said, smiling. "For what?" I asked. "For respecting me so much and for never making me feel uncomfortable in any way. You have no idea what these two things mean for a girl. It is all we need," she said. "Without respect for one another, no relationship lasts. My mother always taught me to respect women. And you are the most important woman in my life afterall," I said. Narrowing her eyes, she said, "Oh really? This means there are more but I am the most important." I teased her back pretending to think, saying, "Umm...well yeah, in a way." Her jaw dropped as she punched my arm playfully. I giggled as she turned her back towards me and pulled her hair in front. "Help me," she said. The strings to her suit were loose and her bare back was out. I looked at her through the mirror as my fingers lightly teased the skin on her back making her tremble. Her eyes shut tightly and her head slowly bent lower and lower. I held the strings together and tied them without removing my eyes from her. I held her shoulders and rest my chin on top of her head, looking at her. I took up the comb and gently passed it through her soft hair and put on the earrings and bangles I chose for her. After a long while, she was looking like the Shehnaaz I fell in love with at first sight, simple and beautiful. Throughout the entire process, she kept her eyes shut and opened them after I was finished. She raised her eyelids slowly and looked up at herself in the mirror with a smile. "Beautiful," I said to her. She turned to me and said, "Navratri starts today. I fast with a lot of love and devotion every year. For the next nine to ten days, I want to fast. For you, for your wellbeing, for your happiness and protection."
I was touched. "Our relationship has now started and I want this to be magical. I want you to have all the blessings one can get," she said. I was lost of words. Her smile widened as she hugged me. I was overwhelmed and my eyes got wet. Breaking the hug, she wiped away the tears from my eyes and said, "For the next week and a half, you cannot consume alcohol or eat non-veg." I chuckled saying, "Don't worry. I won't destroy your fast." "And while coming back home, you will pick up some fresh fruits for me," she said, "For the next few days, that is going to be my food. That too, only once a day." I frowned hearing this. "No no no," I said, "If that is the kind of fast you are keeping then forget it." "Why?" She asked. "I am not letting you go on a diet that can harm your health," I said, adamant. "I keep it every year...." she started but I cut her off saying, "I wasn't here before and no one stopped you. I am not going to allow you to eat only fruits for the next nine to ten days. Nope, that's impossible." "But I am doing it all for you," she argued. "You are with me, that's enough. You are not going to torture yourself for me," I said. "It's not torture," she said, holding my hands, "It's love. It's faith. It's a sacrifice." "I don't want it," I said, swelling my face angrily. "You don't want my love?" She asked. "It's not that. It's...." I said and she interrupted me saying, "Then it's final. I am fasting." I gave her a dangerous glare hoping that would work. "Keep your glare for your underlings. This isn't going to work with me. I am their boss's boss," she said. "You won't listen to me, won't you?" I said. "What do you think?" She asked with a smirk. "Fine," I said, "But I still won't be happy with this." "My baby," she said, pulling my cheeks, "I can placate you like nothing." "We will see," I said. "We will see," she said, confidently. I frowned at her. "Come," she said, pulling me out of the room and downstairs.
She dragged me to the dining table and made me sit. "What will you eat?" She asked. "I am not feeling like having anything heavy," I said, "I will just have a fruit salad or something." "Fruit salad?" She said, confused, "I have never seen you eating fruits before. There is this bowl of fruits here on the table only for decoration but you never eat fruits." "My choice," I said, shrugging my shoulders, "It's my belly. I can eat anything." "Save the attitude, huh, please," she said. "Darling, this is the kind of attitude girls die for about me," I said, cheekily. She joined her eyebrows at me asking suspiciously, "A lot of girls look at you?" "What else? Do you have any doubts?" I said. Daksh joined us and I included him to add some fire saying, "Ask Daksh how many girls look at me and try to get close to me. Not only girls, even boys fall for me. That's how handsome I am." "Okay...." she said, stretching her words, "What am I supposed to do for that? You're worth looking at." "You don't have to be jealous at all," I said, sarcastically. She looked at Daksh with a serious look and he said at once, "Excuse me. I have to make an important phone call." He escaped from the scene and she looked at me with a forced smile. I grabbed a banana from the fruit bowl and peeled it slowly. Teasing her was amusing. She went up to Daksh who was pretending to talk on his phone and grabbed it away from him. Looking at him dead in the eye, she said, "Don't act in front of me." Her eyes slowly turned to me and I looked away immediately at my banana. She started whispering to Daksh but her facial expressions sold out most of her 'secretive' talk with him. I knew exactly what she was doing while poor Daksh could only nod and agree to her. I got up and decided to leave. I went up to them and the most I could hear her saying was, "Do you understand?" He nodded.
She looked at me with the same fake smile. "You're going?" She asked. "You were pestering me the entire morning to go to work so yes, I am going," I said. "Good, good," she said, nodding, "Go to work. And remain focus. Don't let your mind stray to any distractions from anything and anybody." I nodded along with her and said, "Of course. Who would I look at besides you?" "Perfect!" She said. We looked at each other quietly with our heads still moving back and forth. "Hello?" Daksh said, waving his hand between us, "Sir, shall we go?" "Yes," I said and sighed. I looked at Shehnaaz genuinely hesitant of leaving her and said, "I'll be back soon, okay." "Bye," she said, this time with a genuine smile. Despite our playful fights and attitude, both of us knew that we were going to miss each other dearly throughout the day.
