Sidharth's P.O.V.
Meeta entered the room and immediately frowned seeing Shehnaaz's face. "If you don't mind, can I speak to my sister alone for a minute?" Shehnaaz asked without a single expression on her face and her eyes fixed on the floor. My fear grew rapidly with every passing moment. I need to speak to her and clear any misunderstanding she had. "Shehnaaz..." I started, taking one step closer to her but she stepped back. I turned around and left the room without getting the chance to talk to her. My fright was working on my anxiety as I paced left to right in my room. I heard a knock on my door and my excitement of it being Shehnaaz ended the moment Anu called out to me. I ran my hand through my hair and sat on my bed, frustrated at my circumstances. "Sidhu!" Anu called again. I went to the door and opened it. "Please, just leave me alone for a while. I will meet you later for the aarti and dinner. I'm sorry," I said and shut back the door. I remained restless in my room for a long time and gathered some courage to go and speak to Shehnaaz. I went to her door and hesitated in knocking. As I was standing there, Ajay came behind me. He looked at me with a frown and said, "May I speak to you for a moment?" "Sure," I said and led him back to my room. "Listen, I don't know much about you as a person and who your friends are or anything else but, I know everything about Shehnaaz," he said, calmly, "She has been through so much of trauma in her life that I don't think she will be able to handle another." "What are you trying to say?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "I don't have a habit to beat around the bush and talk. I will come straight to the point," he said, "If you are not serious about our Shehnaaz, please, leave her." My blood boiled at his comment. How dare he! "You said it yourself that you don't know anything about me. Then how did you decide that I am not serious about Shehnaaz?" I said, gritting my teeth as my fists clenched.
"If you were serious about Shehnaaz, she wouldn't have found you in the position she saw you in with your friend," he said. "That was only a misunderstanding and once I talk to Shehnaaz about it, it will be cleared," I said, "You are Shehnaaz's brother-in-law and I see your concern but you don't have to interfere in our relationship. It's ours and we will handle it accordingly." "It is my duty to look out for her and I am doing just that," he said. "I understand. But you will never be able to understand my love for her. I can go to any lengths for her and I am not afraid to raise my voice against what's wrong for her. I know that you are concerned but when it comes to Shehnaaz I don't joke or play around either. Anu is only a childhood friend of mine but if I had the choice to choose between that friendship and Shehnaaz, I would choose Shehnaaz without a doubt," I said sternly, looking straight into his eyes. He looked at me with a smile slowly forming on his lips. "That's what I need to hear from you. No one can love Shehnaaz as much as you do. I hope your love remain this very way forever," he said. I became a bit calmer. "I am sorry if my words made you feel bad. I only wanted to see if you are truly serious about Shehnaaz or not and I am satisfied now," he said. "It's okay. I understand," I said. He smiled at me and was leaving the room when I stopped him. Going up to him, I said, "I need a small favour from you tonight." "Sure," he said. "Somehow, can you bring Shehnaaz to the terrace tonight for me?" I asked. "Of course," he said. "Thank you," I said. He left the room. I knew I had to do something to ease any doubt brewing in Shehnaaz's mind against Anu and I. I cannot handle her doubting me. Until I don't clear this misunderstanding between us, I won't be able to sit in peace.
I went back to her room and without hesitating I entered. She was still cleaning up her room as she packed her clothes back inside her cupboard. "Shehnaaz," I said, going up to her. She froze with her back turned to me. "Where....where did you go?" I asked, nervously. Silently, she continued her work without responding or looking at me. "I...I was worried about you," I said, "You left without informing me." "Do I have to give you every little detail of my life? My life can't run without your permission?" She asked, annoyed. "You know I didn't mean that," I said, stepping closer to her, "Whatever you saw this afternoon wasn't..." Before I could complete, she turned around and left the room. I have seen her angry at me before but I could feel the additional hurt oozing out of her this time. It scared me. I had to try and convince her by tonight because tomorrow our wedding rituals would begin. She went downstairs and I went up to the terrace. I know that this had become her favourite place in the house and this would do half of the work needed. Anu came behind me. "Hey," she said, with her usual smile. I turned around and looked at her. "Is everything okay? After whatever happened earlier, are you angry with me?" She asked. "You shouldn't have done that," I said, "You know that I am in love with Shehnaaz and our wedding is two days away. You cannot come this close to me or even think about me in that way." Stepping closer to me, she held onto my shoulders and pulled my body closer to hers. "Why Sidharth?" She asked, frustrated, "I love you and you know that you love me as well. Look at me, I am sexy, I have class, I can give you more than what she has to offer. Why can't you choose me?" "What the hell are you saying?" I said, pushing her away. She stumbled back but balanced herself well.
Coming back to me, she wrapped her arms around my neck, hugging me tightly as she repeated, "I love you Sidhu. I have only come back for you. Choose me. I love you." I tried my best to get her away from me but she held onto me tightly. "Leave me!" I yelled, trying to push her away. "I love you. Be mine!" She said as she disgusted me when she started kissing my neck. She pushed me against the wall as she burst open the buttons on my shirt and started kissing my chest and stomach while digging her nails into my skin. With all my strength, I held her shoulders and pushed her away. She fell back hard on the ground and screamed out in pain. Shehnaaz, Meeta and Ajay rushed up to the terrace along with two of my bodyguards. Shehnaaz looked at me with some tears in her eyes as her eyes roamed around my chest and open shirt. Everyone looked at Anu on the floor as she fumed in anger. "How dare you!" She said, gritting her teeth, "You pushed me away for this girl?" Standing up, she looked at Shehnaaz. "This is all because of you. You came between my Sidhu and I and now, you will pay!" She yelled. Luckily, I noticed her taking out a pocket knife from her pocket as she rushed towards Shehnaaz. In the nick of time, I hurried between them and as she raised the knife to stab Shehnaaz, I held it back. It cut through my skin and my blood eventually started flowing down my wrist. She crossed her limits a long time back but she overdid herself by trying to harm my Shehnaaz. I looked at her with my anger climbing higher and higher and did what I vowed to never do in my life. I pulled the knife out of her grip and slapped her the hardest I can across her face. Again, she fell to the ground as her lips bled. "Don't you dare!" I warned her, "Don't think about even raising a finger at Shehnaaz otherwise I will chop off both your hands and cripple you! I don't hit women. I respect them. But you, a woman like you don't even deserve to live in a civilised world. You are the biggest shame to your sex."
She slowly stood up and looked at me with her eyes bloodshot red. "I will make sure you land in jail for what you did today. Get out of my house and don't ever show me your disgusting face again," I said. My bodyguards came and took her away and I turned to Shehnaaz. She looked at me, sobbing as she took my bleeding hand. "Hey," I said, cupping her cheek, "I'm okay. Don't worry. Anu will get the punishment she deserves." "I am least worried about her," she said, scolding me, "You are bleeding so much." I smiled at her concern for me. I was happy that my Shehnaaz was back. Thankfully, Anu's intentions came forward early before she could create more misunderstandings between us. Shehnaaz led me to her room and made me sit on the bed. Grabbing the first aid box, she began cleaning the cut as tears dropped from her eyes. I smiled at her since her tears and care showed how much she loved me. Looking up at me, she scolded me angrily, "Why are you smiling? Is this funny?" I shook my head. "I don't know why you always love to play hero and damage yourself because of me. This was meant for me, not you," she said, "If something had happened to you, do you know what I would have gone through?" "And if that dagger had only touched you, do you know what I would have gone through? I would have shot and killed Anu on the spot," I said. "You don't have to take my share of pain. Don't ever do this again," she said, slowly wrapping the bandage around my hand. Her words made me a bit irritated and I looked away from her. Wiping away her tears, she got up and put away the box. Coming back to me, she said, "I'll bring some painkillers for you. It will ease some of your pain." "I don't want it," I said, annoyed, "Don't bother about it."
She stopped in her steps as she turned back to me. "I don't want any arguments on this topic. I am bringing you the painkillers and you will take them quietly," she said, sternly. "Why do you care about me and my pain so much? This is my pain. I will handle it myself," I said, raising my voice slightly. She came up to me and held onto my collar. Looking straight into my eyes, she said, "This is not just your pain. Do you even know what I went through in that moment? You have no right to tell me that you can handle your pain yourself because you don't belong to yourself as much as you belong to me." Her words made my heart race. I loved it when she exercised her right on me in this way. Wrapping one arm around her waist, I pulled her closer to me and said, "In the very same way, any pain coming your way will always have to go through me first. I have the right to take away every pain from you and make it mine. Even you will never be able to stop me from doing so." I stared into her beautiful eyes as the fury in them slowly softened.
