Sidharth's P.O.V.
As soon as we got in the car and left, I asked Daksh straightforward, "What was Shehnaaz whispering to you?" He smiled and looked at me silently. "Tell me," I said, demanding. "She told me to keep other girls away from you," he said. My heart fluttered at her being possessive over me. I turned my head to the opposite direction and blushed as I popped my sunglasses on. "By the way, sir...." Daksh said, cautiously, "Since Shehnaaz got her makeover, I have noticed that guys eye her." I looked at him with a long face. "What type of disgusting comment is that? Guys eye her..." I said. Shrugging his shoulders, he said, "It was just an observation. Even some of our own bodyguards look at her." I pulled my shades off my face and glared at him, dangerously, straight into his eyes. His words replayed in my head. "My bodyguards and workers look at Shehnaaz like that?" I thought to myself, "I have to do something." I decided to keep an eye on everyone around Shehnaaz and whoever tries to look at her, I will fire them on the spot. I started with staring at the driver throughout the ride, thinking if he could be one of them or not. Reaching to my office, I went inside and entered my office. I sent a message to Shehnaaz informing her that I had safely reached to work and looked at the man sitting opposite me. A designer was waiting for me there. I called him to design some new clothes for Shehnaaz or possible show her some of his exclusive collections and she would choose. I briefly described her taste and dressing style to him and he showed me some Punjabi suits and sarees. I selected one saree to gift to her at the end of the Navratri festival since she was going to keep the fast, regardless to what I had to say or not.
"Here's what you have to do," I said, "Go to my house, my fiancé is there. I want you to carry your best options for her and don't worry about the price, show her the most expensive. Whatever she chooses, just send the bill to me." "Sure, sir," he said and got up. He shook my hand and left. I looked at my phone and saw Shehnaaz's message, 'Ok...' I knew she was still bothered by other girls looking at me and smiled. I sent a kiss emoji to her and she sent back a thumbs up. I called her up and she answered at once. "You're still angry at me?" I asked, leaning back on my chair. "I wasn't angry in the first place," she said. "Oh really?" I said, "By the way, I know how to fix a girl's mood." "Sounds like you have a lot of experience," she said. "Consider it so," I said, teasing her. "How many girls have you ever cajoled until now?" She asked. "Ummm...." I said, pretending to think, "One besides you." "And she is...?" She asked. "My mother," I said. "Oh!" She said, "I'm sorry. I thought...." "You thought I was talking about some girlfriend," I said, completing her words. "How was I supposed to know I am only the second person you ever pacified?" She said. "Only you can tolerate me. All of my pass time girlfriends were merely there for my money and using my position for popularity," I said. "You're so right," she said, giggling, "And I can't wait to tolerate you for the rest of my life." I smiled. "Okay, listen to me now," I said, "There is someone coming to meet you at home. Don't chase him away when he comes okay?" "Who?" She asked, confused. "That's a surprise. And I don't want you complaining about him to me," I said, knowing how she is. "Okay, fine," she said, "But atleast tell me who it is so I will know who to expect." "I told you, it's a surprise. You will understand on your own when he reaches," I said, leaning off my chair. "As you command, my master," she said.
I leaned back on my chair, looking at the ceiling, saying, "Tell me you love me one time before I start my work." "You love me," she said. "I..." I said and she repeated, "Love....You...." She said each word slowly after me and then said softly, "I love you Sidharth Shukla." "I love you to the power of infinity," I said. "Now get to work," she said, back to her normal, demanding tone. "As you wish, boss," I said. "Bye," she said. I hung up and got to work while looking at her through the CCTV camera footage from home.
Shehnaaz's P.O.V.
By the time I hung up the phone, I heard a knock on the main door and I turned to see a strange man with some others at the back of him. I got up from the sofa and went up to him. "Good morning ma'am," he said, with a pleasant smile. "Good morning," I said. "My name is Manav. Mr. Shukla sent me to meet you. I am a designer," he said and as he said so, some people entered with clothes rack stands with multiple clothes hung on them. I looked at them confused. Then, a message on my phone came from Sidharth saying, 'Your surprise. Have fun shopping.' Everything now made sense. He told me this morning that I had to go shopping and was adamant on me getting new clothes. I smiled and shook my head, looking at the message. I welcomed the man inside and told one of the servants to bring some tea and snacks for him. Sitting opposite him, I said, "You bought so much of clothes for me to choose from? These are way too much." "Ma'am, I am only following instructions from Mr. Shukla," he said. I sighed and dropped my shoulders. "Okay, show me, what do you have?" I said. "Ma'am, we have a wide collection of many different designs and styles," he said and started pulling options, showing me. At the back of my head, the only thing going on was that Sidharth is impossible for bringing an entire designer collection along with the designer himself for me. I decided on one cheap suit only since they all looked extremely expensive. "I will take this one," I said, showing the man. He frowned. "Ma'am, if you only take one suit, Mr. Shukla will murder me," he said. "Don't worry, I'll make sure he doesn't. I'll take this only," I said. "As you wish ma'am," he said and started packing up his stuff. He left and I carried my new suit to my room. I held it over my body and looked at it. It wasn't my favourite of all but it was the cheapest. I would have felt so guilty if I had bought an expensive one since Sidharth is paying.
I looked at the ring on my finger and frowned a bit. If Dad finds out that I am engaged and found the perfect guy, chances are he will accept me back. Meeta is also getting married and not being part of her wedding celebrations will haunt me for the rest of my life. I made up my mind and decided to go home and meet everyone atleast once. There is no harm in trying. I left the house with a driver and went home. From the gate, I could hear the music playing and the entire entrance from the building were decorated, royally. My eyes welled up seeing Meeta's Mehndi sign. I hardly could've believed that my baby sister was getting married. I slowly walked up the stairs and everyone's eyes stuck to me. Reaching outside my house, I stopped and looked inside. "I'll just get it!" Bani yelled, coming outside. She bounced into me and stepped back saying, "Sorry...." She froze as she saw me and slowly started to show her joy. "Diiii!!!!" She screamed, jumping up and hugging me tightly, "You're home!" I hugged her back, letting my emotions flow with my tears. Mom and Meeta came out and stood, just as shocked as Bani was before but then embraced me with wet eyes. Cupping my face, Mom asked, "How are you, my baby? You have now gotten time to come back home?" "Sorry Maa," I said. I looked at Meeta from head to toe. She looked beautiful in her green saree and floral jewellery. I went up to her and hugged her tightly. "Thank you so much for coming, Di," she said and broke the hug, "I told Mom clearly this morning that if you don't attend my wedding, I will run away from the alter." Everyone chuckled and I lightly hit her saying, "Silly! Can I miss your wedding?" "I'm so happy!" She said, "My family is complete!" Everyone hugged me together. Holding my hand, Mom said, "Come inside." I froze to my spot and frowned at her.
"Papa...?" I asked. "Your papa has gone out to see some arrangements. Don't worry," Mom said. "No," I said, "Until he doesn't give me permission, I won't enter the house." She frowned. "You and your principles," she said. "I'm sorry Maa. But, until papa doesn't tell me himself to come inside and welcome me back home, I won't enter," I said. "You will not enter my home!" I heard from behind. I turned around and saw Dad, fuming in anger. "Listen to me, please...." Mom said, approaching him but he raised his palm to her, stopping her. With his eyes fixed on me, he said, "What I said is final! She won't come inside." "Papa...." I said, stepping closer to him but he immediately took one step back. Clasping his palms together, he said, "My house is very happy right now. My eldest daughter is getting married. Please, don't bring any inauspiciousness by coming here." My heart broke. "How can you say that about your own daughter?" Mom asked. He glared at her and she was forced to remain quiet. "Papa," I said, softly, "I came here to give you some good news. I am engaged. I could be getting married very soon as well. He loves me very much Papa. He is willing to go to any lengths for me, for my safety, for my happiness. Please Papa, if you don't come to bless me on my wedding day, my entire marriage would be incomplete." He stood square, looking away from me. I wasn't getting the response I hoped for and bent my head and slowly started leaving from there, disappointed. I didn't want to spoil Meeta's day anymore. Mom held back my hand and looked at the ring on my finger. Looking at Dad, she said, "This is the day you were waiting for, weren't you? To see your daughter engaged to be married? Look at her for once, she has fulfilled that wish of yours. Please, accept her before it gets too late and you have to regret it." "Look at the size of that diamond," he said, "Do you really think she needs anything or anyone?"
"You're right," I said, "As long as my fiancé is with me, I won't need anyone else. But, still I had some hope alive somewhere in my heart that you would accept me back into this family. I guess I was wrong. I only wanted my family to celebrate with me in my happiness. If you find it in your heart one day to forgive me Papa, you can come to my home." I hugged my mother tightly once more before I left, wiping away my tears, confidently. For once, I finally found strength to stand up against my father and be confident and I was proud of myself. This is also all thanks to Sidharth and the security he provided with him being with me. For the rest of my life, I don't have to be afraid of anyone because I have him.
