Sidharth's P.O.V.
I rushed up behind her and sat down next to her. Holding her elbow, I turned her harshly to me and said, "I have a gun and if you do this one more time, I'll empty the six bullets in your head." My eyes were welling up with tears of relief and hurt of her actions in one. I pulled her to me and hugged her tightly. "Don't ever do this to me again. You will kill me like this," I said. I parted from her and cupped her face, sobbing at this point. I joined my forehead with hers and said, "Don't ever leave me like this ever again. You don't know how scared I was at the thought of something happening to you." I pulled away from her and began looking at her for any injuries asking in between my tears, "Are you hurt anywhere? Are you okay? Show me your arms." I looked at her arms and pushed her messy hair back as I observed her cheeks and neck to ensure she wasn't hurt. Tears kept flowing from her eyes as she looked at me silently. "Please, I beg of you, don't ever leave me like this again," I said, cupping her face. At this point, I didn't want her separated from me for a single moment and engulfed her once more in a hug. I kept her in my arms for a long time before she broke down even more saying, "My father hates me! My family hates me!" "I forgot how much parents can disappoint us and let us down," I said, gritting my teeth. "What have I done? I am the victim! I didn't tell anyone to rape me! Why am I the one suffering?" She said, crying. My heart broke seeing her pitiful state. I caressed her hair softly as I just remained there with her and listened to her rant and pour her heart out to me. "If you weren't with me, I wouldn't have anyone at all. I fear you leaving me also, Sidharth," she said. "Shh....shh....shh...." I hushed her, cupping her face and wiping her tears, "You are not going to lose me okay? Get that fear out of your heart. I am always with you and will always remain with you."
She hugged me tighter and cried on my chest. I looked at Daksh and my bodyguards standing in the distance and called him closer. He handed me a bottle of water and I asked Shehnaaz, "Do you want some water?" I could feel her head moving side to side on my chest and I rested the bottle aside. Then, my eyes fell on her feet. She was barefoot and her feet red, were covered in blood. My eyes welled up seeing her state and imagined how much pain she must be in. "Shehnaaz, your feet are covered in blood, come, let's go home," I said. "I'm not feeling any pain from those wounds. Words hurt more," she said. I felt like dragging her father before her and making him apologise for every hurtful thing he ever said to and about her. I was helpless however, because Shehnaaz won't allow me to do anything to hurt anyone even if they hurt her. Her eyes were red and swollen. "Enough now, let's go home," I said, wiping her tears. I stood up and as she was about to get up, I scooped her up in my arms and lifted her off the bench. She wrapped her arms around me and held onto my shoulders. I walked through the park with her in my arms as everyone stopped and looked on at us. I could feel Shehnaaz's intense stare as she looked at me silently but I just kept a straight face and looked ahead. Reaching the car, Daksh opened the door and I placed Shehnaaz inside. I closed the door and told Daksh, "You drive." He nodded and got behind the steering wheel as I sat in the back with Shehnaaz. I wrapped my arm around her as she rested her head on my chest and sobbed silently. She began getting hiccups and I grabbed a bottle of water and fed her some slowly. I wiped her lips and looked at her with all my longing to comfort her. Daksh drove home as I didn't let her out of my arms for a single moment. She could have cried all she wanted as long as I am with her to wipe her tears away.
Reaching home, I took her out of the car and carried her straight to her bedroom. I rested her on the bed and got a first aid box. I began cleaning her feet and applying some medicines. I wrapped her feet with the bandages as she laid silently, staring into space throughout the process. I got up and whispered to Daksh, "Call the doctor." He nodded and left the room. I went and sat next to Shehnaaz and caressed her hair. Her tears had all dried up but her face was still sulken and her eyes were lost. Neither she spoke nor I said a word. I rested my head back on the bed frame and continued caressing her hair for a while. About a half hour later, Daksh returned with the doctor. I got up and gave him space to check her. He did his routine checkup and gave her an injection. He got up and turned to me. "May I speak with you for a moment, please?" He asked. We left the room and I asked him, concerned, "Is everything okay?" "She has put her body in a lot of stress. It's not good for her mentally and physically. Please, try to not let her stress herself out too much because she can slip into depression with which isn't a safe thing. She has to take care of her mental health. I have given her a sleeping injection but make sure that when she wakes up, she doesn't go back to the state she is in right now," he said. "Thank you, doctor," I said. Daksh went to see him off and I went back into the room. I sat next to her and held her hand, looking at her sleeping peacefully after what seemed like an eternity of her crying. "I'm sorry Shehnaaz. This is all because of me. I should have been more careful. I promise that I won't let you end up like my mother. I won't lose you like I lost her. You are strong and you are a fighter. I will help you through anything no matter how big or small. We will do this together, " I said as I broke down into tears.
I sat by her side, diligently, not moving for a single moment and even limiting my blinking so that she is never out of my sight for that split second. I felt a hand on my shoulder but failed to look back at who it is. "Sir," Daksh said, "You should go and wash your hands and face. You have been running around the place for too long." "If anything had happened to her I would have died, Daksh," I said with my voice breaking, "I'm falling too deeply in love with her. Sometimes, I get scared and want to avoid her but everytime something bad happens to her and I regret ever letting those thoughts of going away from her come into my mind. What do I do?" He sighed and said, "Tell her how you feel." "You know I can't do that," I said. "You have always remained behind in recognising love. You don't realise how much she loves you," he said. I looked at her sleeping peacefully. "Shall I bring your food here?" He asked. "I'm not hungry," I said. He left and I stayed put without moving my eyes off of her as her happy face and memories flashed before me. Night fell and the sky was dark. No lights were on in the room but the light of the full moon filled the room as Shehnaaz's sleeping beauty looked angelic. She took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes. She looked at me and then around the room. I went a bit closer to her as I held her hand a bit tighter. She tried getting up but I held her down and said, "Don't get up." "How did I reach here? I ran away after....." she said, confused. "Yes, you ran away. Why?" I asked sternly. "I had...." she started and I scolded her again, "Gone mad? Lost it for a while?" She pouted cutely at me. "I'm sorry," she said, softly. "Hmmm....you should be. Did you think if something had happened to you, what I would do?" She looked at me and asked after a pause, "Why?"
"Don't ever do your craziness again with me," I said, holding her hand to my lips. I kissed her fingers. "Sidharth," she said, holding my hand, "I promise, I won't ever leave like this again. I just got upset after I heard all that my father said about me." Her eyes began welling up again and I had to do something to distract her once more. "Are you hungry?" I asked. She nodded. "Good," I said, standing up, "Because my butt is hurting from sitting all day." She let out a chuckle and shook her head. "Thank God! Atleast, she laughed a bit," I said to myself. "I'm sorry you had to sit like this because of me," she said. I leaned over her and looked down at her. "I can sit a million lifetimes like this for you," I said, sincerely looking into her beautiful, brown eyes illuminating even more in the moonlight. She broke the eyelock and asked, "What is for dinner?" "What do you want to eat?" I asked. "Anything," she said. I nodded saying, "Okay. Let's go. Anything is on the menu." I pulled the blanket off of her and scooped her up in my arms. "What are you doing?" She asked, bewildered. "Your feet are all band up. You can't walk so I am carrying you to the kitchen," I said. "Why?" She asked, confused. "You will give me the recipe and instructions to make 'anything' and I will make it," I said. She looked at me as a smile threatened her lips. She laughed and wrapped her arms around me. I carried her to the kitchen and sat her down on the kitchen counter. Resting my both hands on the sides of her, I leaned in a bit closer and asked, "What's your recipe madam?" I wore an apron and washed my hands. She began giving me some instructions and I followed them to make kitchari. I filled a bowl with water and brought it to her. I washed her hands carefully as she looked at me. I lifted her off the counter and carried her to the dining table.
I made her sit down and went back to the kitchen. I took out some of the dish and served it to her. She took some onto the spoon as was about to taste it when I took the spoon away from her and fed her with my own hands instead. I wanted her doing nothing at all. She must only rest and I will do everything she needs to get done. I fed her food and she clearly enjoyed it as her smile remained intact throughout eating it. "I want something to drink," she said. "What do you want?" I asked. "Water," she said. I got up when she handed me the plate and said, "Bring more food for me also." I took the plate back into the kitchen and got what she asked for. I brought it back to her. I fed her the water and was about to feed her more food when she stopped me. "I'm full," she said, smiling. "But, you made me take this out for you," I said. She took the plate and spoon and in turn, held the spoon to my mouth. I looked at her surprised. "I know you have not eaten anything for the entire day. You have fed me but you are sitting hungry yourself," she said. She fed me the mouthful and I was touched. I didn't think she would think about any of this because even I didn't think about myself. She continued feeding me until the plate was empty. I carried the plate back to the kitchen and went back to her. She pushed the chair back and raised her hands up, like a child to pick her up. "Even if I wanted to go back to my room on my own you won't let me and you will pick me up so I am making it easier for you," she said. I picked her up once more and carried her to her room.
