Chapte 14

"So, what's your plans next, Hunter?" Rex directed his question at the batch leader who held a sleeping marksman curled up in his lap. Omega was sleeping in Crosshairs arms, the deadly marksman feeling safe enough to fall asleep knowing his family had his back. 

Hunter looked at Tech and Wrecker who nodded. "We are going to see if we can get some jobs and earn a few credits for us". Rex sighed. 

"You know there's an old contact I know down on Ord Mantell. I could hook you up for a price" Echo suggested looking at Fives who only grinned. Rex shook his head not wanting to know. 

"And what would that be?" Tech asked, his voice laced with sarcasm. Echo smiled down at him, "Can I have your permission to join your family? Crosshair has already voiced his opinion and accepted but I didn't want to just join without…"

"Yes, Echo now stop your rambling" Tech answered for Hunter who nodded in agreement with the smiling Wrecker. Echo grinned as Omega slung herself sleepily into his arms. Crosshair had shifted awake in Hunter's hold, the sergeant looking down at him in concern. Crosshair waved him off trying to get comfortable again. Wrecker made sure to rub his head to help him drift off. 

Jesse smiled over at Fives who only grinned poking his twin and teasing him by making kissing noises. Even though Fives thought he was quiet, he certainly wasn't as a shiny reflector disk hit him dead centre in the forehead. 

"Hey!" Fives whipped around to face Crosshair who surprisingly had drifted off. Hunter shook his head to say it wasn't the marksman in his arms. If it wasn't Crosshair, who was it? Fives thought to himself. Until another reflector hit him in the head from the side. He turned only to meet the emerald eyes of an annoyed medic. "Sorry Kix '' Fives apologised immediately, he spoke much quieter as Kix ignored the looks aiming his way. Instead, the medic got up and walked away from them all. 

Scorch picked up Dove and headed for Delta-Fire, Sev and Fixer followed, intending on getting some sleep. Boss and Coric didn't look like they were following anytime soon as the two slept against a nearby fence. Kix continued his walk towards the barn when he decided to go somewhere else. Jesse followed at a small distance as he watched Kix expertly scale the ladder of the Silo. Jesse smiled when Kix gestured for him to join him. Although not as quick as the medic Jesse managed to reach the top where Kix sat in the middle staring out at the view. They could see for miles up on the silo. Jesse suddenly understood why Crosshair liked it as did Kix and Dove.

"What's wrong Kixy?" Jesse asked moving to sit behind Kix who remained silent. Jesse didn't dare touch Kix knowing the medic was still on edge. 

"It's just…I'm struggling to come to terms again…I know it's none of your fault…but…I can't help but…"

"Blame us for your pain?" Jesse finished earning himself a guilty nod from Kix. 

"Can I wrap my arms around you?" Kix could only nod as Jesse held him and he sobbed into his long lost lover's arms. Kix cried, allowing emotions out that he had kept at bay for years. Jesse just held him close, whispering words of reassurance. After a good ten minutes, Kix removed his head from Jesse's neck and looked up, "Jess, I want to be with you I do. It's just I don't trust you" Kix admitted.

"I know Kixy, so let me build it back up. Let me help you. I want to earn your trust back and know I will always be with you for now on. I made the worst mistake of my life by getting rid of you, love. I want to marry you Kix, but I know that is a long time away. I want you Kix and I will fight for you, I've never stopped loving you" Jesse stated rocking the two of them. Kix nodded into his chest. 

"I want you to be happy and I'm shattered, I don't want you to be with a broken…"

"Who's broken? Kix?"
