A Pain Lost In The Stars - Complete

Chapter 13

(Warning: Brief mentions of Suicide in this chapter - very brief)

Entering the barn, Kix found something he wished to never witness himself. He now knew how Boss felt on the day he found him. Cody stood beside his own gun staring at it in his own hand. 

"Is this how you felt?" Cody asked, the open air. 

"If you mean out of place and forgotten, yes" Kix answered bluntly, taking the gun from Cody and wrapping his arms tightly around the commander who could only sob into his baby brother's arms. Kix pulled him close knowing someone was bound to be listening in from the door and that was shortly shown as Rex hurried into the room to wrap his arms around Cody too.

"Oh, Cod'ika, Come here" Rex whispered, Cody moved from Kix's arms to Rex's. The captain nodded at the medic who only sighed, picking up the commander's gun and leaving the barn stalking in one direction. He walked past some confused clones and Obi-wan who had woken up and was immensely apologising to Crosshair who wasn't impressed one bit in Hunter's arms. The batch leader had him in a tight hug. Wrecker stood beside them in warning while Tech spoke to Echo and Fives about the calibrations on the Marauder. Omega was in the ship exploring with Jek and Shaaek.

Kix found himself entering Delta-Fire 2.0 and walking over to his bunk where Scorch had placed his personal belongings in a case including the necklace Kix held dear to him. The one which held a very rare poison in it, Kix was the only one bar Boss who knew what was inside the unbreakable gem. Kix could open it if he wanted to but it was also something that could be used as an antidote and would be needed in the right time. 

Something caught his eye.

"So, you still have it?" Boss voice startled him out of his thoughts. Kix looked up to see both Boss and Coric. There in his hands was the knife that almost ended his life. It used to be coated in his brother's blood but now it was clean due to Sev cleaning it. 

"Yea" Kix said in defeat, he shook his head trying to stop the tears as old forgotten memories tried to resurface. 

"Will it ever go away?" Kix asked quietly to the two. Boss made sure to kneel down in front of him while Coric remained in the doorway of the ship.

"Eventually it will but it takes time ad'ika. If it was easier to just flick a switch I would do it for you but it's not. I know what it's like and I still have my own moments. Just know that we are here for you and…Cody" Boss stated, Kix looked up in shock as Boss smiled. Yes the Delta Leader had worked it out. Kix nodded accepting the warmth of the hug. Coric chuckled from the doorway which caught both of their attention. 

"What?" 

"Nothing, you two are just too similar. Are you sure you aren't his?" Coric joked looking from Boss to Kix. The medic looked at his leader who gave him a silent command. Coric gasped when Boss uttered one word "Run". 

Coric took off into a sprint, dodging other clones and using Scorch to hide behind. The bigger clone ignored the medic until he caught Boss' face. Scorch chuckled, moving out the way giving Kix time to tackle Coric to the floor. The two rolled for a few minutes until Coric yielded since Kix did have knowledge of all his mentors' pressure points having learned under his arm for years. 

"I yield, get off me!" Coric shouted. Kix smirked, making his way to his feet and helping his mentor to his feet just as Dove came running. 

"Dad Help! I may or may not have pissed off Grumpy!" Dove warned, hiding behind Scorch who gladly hid her. 

Jesse stormed into the circle, "Kix. Have you seen Dove?" The medic just shook his head and with a teasing smile he pointed at Rex. The lieutenant ignored his lover knowing Kix was trying to throw him off his trail when Dove suddenly took a running start with Jesse, Echo and Fives following after her yelling her name. Kix laughed slightly, noticing Jesse's pink head and the fact that Fives and Echo were covered in what looked like green slime.
