Chapter 34

Morning came before anyone knew it and during this time, some of them realised the difference between the brothers from the obvious fact of Kix wanting to sleep in while Cody was awake at dawn and Crosshair was good at disappearing. 

Waking up on a planet side felt unfamiliar to some clones especially Rex who heard what sounded like blaster fire and was up on his feet within seconds. He heard the clashes of lightsabers which led him down a corridor only to find something he didn't think would ever happen. 

Anakin Skywalker was sparring with Cody, the commander using his energy swords while Anakin had his lightsaber. Obi-wan watched with a sceptical look from the side with Orion babbling in his arms.

"Morning" 

Rex turned to see a smiling Ahsoka who leaned into his side, the young padawan who had been caught up in this terrible war was growing into a strong young woman. 

"Woah!" Fives called out seeing the way Cody managed to take down Anakin without even touching him. The marshall commander wasn't being smug about anything but he was sending a challenging gaze towards a smirking Quinlan who just nodded. 

"Is this a good idea?" Hardcase turned to Echo who shook his head, the arc trooper had basically left the batch to sleep in knowing they needed it. He had left Crosshair with Angel down near the waterfall where Kix and Jesse were. 

"No but knowing Cody, he needs this" Rex answered for his brothers while they watched Cody summon the swords ready for the spar. Quinlan only activated his lightsaber. There was more tension between the two due to Quinlan's crush on Obi-wan. Even though he knew the Jedi master was in a relationship with the commander, Quinlan still pushed the boundaries. 

Within seconds the two clashed, Cody on the defence while Quinlan attacked quite violently. Cody fought with skill unknown to many as he used different techniques to get around his opponent unaware that he had fallen into a trap. Cody learned from his mistakes so when the lightsaber clashed with his shoulder pauldrons he didn't back out, instead he dove under Quinlan and sweeped his legs out. Within seconds the Jedi was back on his feet but soon found himself trapped in between two energy swords. His neck almost burned from the energy coming off them. 

"I yield," Quinlan quickly said. Cody nodded, pulling away. He intended on walking over to Obi-wan when something stopped him in his tracks and he felt something harsh coming this way. Slowly closing his eyes, his hand touched the ground beneath them and a frown settled on his features.

"Kobi, what is it?" Dooku's voice had the commander whipping around only to frown until something caught his eyes. 

"Ship" Cody's whisper filtered around them until they looked upon the horizon to see a ship on fire heading straight for them. 

"Move!" Rex ordered only for the Jedi and Dooku to move in front of them all, they lifted their hands intending on stopping the ship from hitting them all. 

Within seconds the Jedi had caught it but were unable to stop the flames heading their way. Thankfully a strong wind slammed it away as Kix appeared beside Dooku, his hands calling on the natural entities around them. Quickly the ship was placed on the ground and out stepped a known creature in robes. 

"Master Yoda?" Obi-wan voiced in shock, he quickly greeted the Jedi master as did the others while Cody tucked Orion close to his chest and found his spot behind Dooku where Kix stood. 

"I'm glad to see I have not been missed?" 

"Master Windu, it is good to know you are alive. What happened?" Anakin questioned, he greeted the Jedi master like he always did with a respected bow. Ahsoka and Quinlan copying his actions.
