A Pain Lost In The Stars - Complete

Chapter 5

"Is everyone ready?" Anakin's voice came over the commlink. Rex looked back at his group which consisted of Echo, Fives, Cody, Sev and Scorch, "Ready". Obi-wan frowned from his position hidden in the walls of the cliff with Ahsoka and Fixer, the commando had a jetpack on, "Ready, Anakin I still don't agree with this" Obi-wan warned. Anakin proceeded to ignore him as he waited for the last group to check in. "We are ready" Boss' voice appeared over the commlink as he turned to see Dove and Kix hidden on top of the cliff, with Jesse beside the commando.

"Great! Maul will never know what hit him! Ready on my mark, Delta take out the engines!" He received a pingback in acknowledgement. 

Maul and the separatist forces were moving into position below them. Obi-wan smirked as he and Ahsoka continued to hold up the boulder which would crush the droids below. Fixer nodded, taking a moment to ping back to Anakin. 

"Now Delta!" Anakin cried over the commlink, without warning. The engines of Maul's ship exploded and Obi-wan dropped the boulder on the ship and droids. Together the three groups attacked. Ahsoka defended the clones while Obi-wan and Anakin attacked Maul. 

"How nice of you to drop in, Kenobi" Darth Maul grunted out as he avoided another swipe from Anakin. "Argh you brought the padawan this time, how cute. Where's yours? I heard she was injured" Maul teased. Anakin growled in warning as he took a strike at Maul who jumped back only to land in Obi-wan's path.

"General, we are ready, we have arrived at Delta-Fire. Boss has signalled it's time to go" Rex's voice broke over their commlinks. Maul looked furious as the two Jedi pushed him back with the force and then jumped for their ship. Anakin and Obi-wan appeared in the doorway to the shuttle. Boss helped them in. "Sev swing around to get Dove and Delta" Scorch commanded as he moved to the guns just as two TIE fighters entered the atmosphere. Sev nodded, bringing the ship around to where Dove and Delta were waiting. The two D's as Sev had nicknamed the two for a joke. 

"Climb on" Boss called out holding his hand out, he grabbed Dove as it was the rule before helping Delta on. Delta ignored the other clones' looks as he sat on Boss' bunk since Fives and Echo were sitting on his not that they knew that. "Hey get your hands off my baby!" Dove called out grabbing her crossbow from Five's hands, the arc trooper held his hands up in surrender.

"So what are your names? Since this will be a long flight, I can't keep calling you made up names" Dove admitted out loud as she came to stand beside her dad. She noticed the clones had removed their helmets once deemed safe. The only ones who hadn't were Kix, herself and Boss. 

"Rex"

"Echo"

"I'm the handsome Fives"

"Cody" 

"Obi-wan"

"Ahsoka"

"You know me" Anakin said with a smile earning himself something thrown at him. 

"And you?" Dove said with a raised eyebrow. "I don't know who you are so why should I give you my name" Jesse grumpily said. 

"Hey, don't mind him. He's been grumpy ever since his partner left him after a drunken mistake by himself" Fives said, earning himself a slap from Rex to almost tell him to knock it off. 

Dove tightened her knuckles into fists. "YOU!" she shouted getting in his face. Jesse stood up ready to defend himself when Delta came in between them. They all watched as Delta placed a hand on both their chests and shook his head. "But! Dad! He…" Delta shook his head gesturing to the cockpit. Dove sighed, grabbing her helmet and following Delta to the cockpit. Fixer was quick to move out of the way allowing the two to have the cockpit to themselves. Obi-wan went to reach out with the force when he found himself blocked. He was confused until he saw the grin on Anakin's face.
