Thirty Eight

"Hi! What's your name?" The little boy asked, staring at a cute little girl who was hugging a teddy bear while eating a lollipop.

"This is my brother Simon and I'm Alexander. How about you?"

"Does the cat got your tongue?"

The little girl just looked at the boys in front of her and offered her candy.

"No, thank you. We are not allowed to eat candies without our parent's permission."

"Let's go! We will show you our toys!" Simon ran away and quickly went upstairs.

"Come on, we will show you our room."

Alexander offered his hand and the little girl grabbed it without any hesitations.

"I always wanted to have a little sister. Can you be my little sister?"

The girl nodded and gave her stuffed toy to Alexander.

"Fine. I'll carry this for you. Promise me you'll behave okay?"

SANDRO's POV

Emerald....

"Sir, are you alright?"

Someone was trying to wake me up. I can feel a hand slightly tapping my cheeks and shaking my shoulders. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Samantha worriedly staring at me.

Sandro: Hi. How are you feeling?

Samantha: I f-feel fine.

Sandro: How's your wound? Does it hurt?

Samantha: No. I don't feel anything at all. Where am I? What happened?

Sandro: You don't remember?

Samantha: No, I-I don't. W-who are you?

Sandro: W-what? Who? Are you asking me?

She nods at me, wearing a blank expression on her face. I frowned in confusion. Didn't we just talk earlier and she just mentioned that she got her memories back?

Sandro: Samantha. Stop bluffing me. Tell me if you're pulling out a prank.

Samantha: What does that mean?

Sandro: We just talked, right? Like a few moments ago? You said you got your memories back. You said I've hurt you because I proposed to Lex but you also thanked me kasi ako pala yung makakapag-pabalik ng ala-ala mo.

She tilted her head and intently gazed at me. Like she was trying to understand what I just said. Why does it look like she doesn't remember anything and had no idea what I was talking about? Is this for real?! Was that just a dream?! Am I dreaming?! I tapped my cheeks and pinched my arm and I felt the pain. You got to be kidding me.
