Forty Seven

SANDRO's POV

The whole ride was discreet while we were on our way to Malacañang. Samantha makes herself busy just by looking at the window and I didn't bother to talk to her. I reached for her hand and held it. Then she looked at me.

Sandro: Are you alright?

She shook her head.

Samantha: I don't feel fine.

Sandro: Is there something that bothers you?

Samantha: I can't explain how I feel.

Sandro: Does your head hurt? If you want, we can go back-

Samantha: No. That's okay. Your parents are expecting us.

Sandro: Just tell me whatever it is that you wanted to say.

I tucked her hair and pinch her cheeks.

Sandro: I'm always here for you, Samantha.

She gave me a sweet smile.

Samantha: Thank you, Sandro. For everything that you've done for me.

Sandro: Ang morbid. Are you saying goodbye?

Then she fakes a laugh and I wipes her tears.

Sandro: Shhh... Don't cry.

Even her tears are so precious. I don't wanna see her crying and hurting.

Sandro: Fix yourself. Malapit na tayo.

We both took a deep breath when we got out of the car. I offer my arms to her and she clang to it.

My parents welcomed us and gave us a big hug. Simon and Vinny are here too.

Liza: You're just right on time. Our visitors are on their way.

Bong: Let's wait at the receiving area?

Sandro: Who are they, Pops?

Dad didn't answer me and just gave me a worried look. I looked at my mom and she did the same. What the hell is going on?

Simon: I'm hoping that this is just a simple business meeting.

I'm pretty sure Vinny has no idea, either. My parents walked ahead of us and we were just following them when Simon whispered.

Simon: We were about to meet the SEF Group Ltd.

I gulped when I heard what he said and Samantha froze.

Sandro: Samantha.

I can't hide how worried I am. Were already here and there's no turning back. She looked at me with teary eyes.

Sandro: Don't be scared, Simon and I are here. We always got your back.

Samantha: I am not ready for this. Not.... yet.

Simon: You got your memories back, Sammy?

Samantha: Yes. Just this morning. Hindi pa ako nakakabawi and now this?

Simon: I'm sorry, Samantha. I was about to give you guys a warning but.... mom asked me not to tell you this. Your presence is important and we can't do anything about it.
