SAMANTHA's POV
It's lunch time and humanap ako ng puno na malilim. I sat under a tree and took my sketchpad. Nagsimula ako gumuhit habang nakatanaw sa mga bahay sa hindi kalayuan. I started to eat a sandwhich and make myself busy.
Zion: Hey.
Samantha: Sht!
Zion: Easy.
Samantha: You scared me!
Zion: Sorry, Sammy. I didn't mean to.
I was surprise when he held my shoulders from the back. Akala ko kung sino.
Zion: Bakit hindi mo sila kasama? Hinahanap kita to eat lunch.
I showed him the sandwhich na hawak ko and he just smirked.
Zion: It's just a piece of bread.
Samantha: I'm good with this.
He shook his head. Alam kong hindi sya sang ayon na tinapay lang ang kakainin ko.
Zion: You busy?
I showed him what's on my sketchpad and his brows narrowed.
Zion: Is that a manor house?
Samantha: Yep. It's my dream house.
Zion: Really?
Samantha: Uhm-hmm.
Zion: Magaling ka talaga gumuhit. Bagay na bagay sayo maging architect.
Samantha: Talaga lang, huh?
Zion: Hindi naman ako sinungaling.
I just smiled at him and continued to draw.
Zion: You ready to design buildings and houses, Architect Fortalejo?
Samantha: Ang sarap pakinggan.
Zion: Haha! Bagay di ba? Architect Fortalejo.
Samantha: I have a long way to go, Zayn. 5 years, I need 5 long years.
Zion: Why don't you go back to school this year? Tamang tama. I heard August na ang start ng pasukan ngayon dito sa Pilipinas.
Samantha: I'll think about it.
Zion: Huwag mo ng pag-isipan. Just go for it. I'm sure Don Leon will understand. You and the company will benefit from it. Lalo na-
Samantha: I don't have plans on inheriting SEF Ltd.
Zion: For real?
Samantha: It's not part of my plan. Never. And kung mag-aaral man ako ulit para maging architect, I'm not gonna do it for the company. Para sakin, Zayn. Para sa sarili ko.
Zion: Right.
Umihip ang malakas na hangin at sabay kaming natahimik. He also started to eat. I focus on what I do dahil desidido akong tapusin to. But I stop in mid air when my phone beeps. Pasimple kong sinulyapan ang pangalan sa screen.
1 new message from Sandro.
Yes, I change his name on my contacts last night. Then I remember our phone conversation. He mentioned Lex's name. Hindi ko alam but I feel like he was hiding something from me. I'm not saying that he lied to me but it seems like he made an excuse nung magkausap kami.
Paano kung magkasama sila sa Ilocos? I sighed and slightly shook my head. Why am I overthinking again? Hindi ko pa naman nacoconfirm kung tama ba ang nasa isip ko pero nasasaktan na agad ako. Paano kung tama ako? Paano kung totoong magkasama nga sila? Anong gagawin ko? How should I react?
