ZEUS' POV
Zion: What brought you here? The bar is closed.
Zeus: I'm bored. Bawal ba ako pumunta dito?
Zion: Hindi naman. It's just very unusual of you na pumunta dito ng ganitong oras. You're too early for tonights show.
Well he's right. Ano nga ba ang ginagawa ko dito? It's like I have no other place to go. He looked at his wrist watch and smirked.
Zion: Really, bro? 7am in the morning?
Zeus: It's Saturday, who cares?
This dude is trying to annoy me. Tss.
Zeus: Ikaw? Bakit nandito ka?
Zion: Kagabi pa ako dito. I was just checking my collection. May mga bago akong dating na baby.
He took a bottle of wine and pour some. He swirl it in glass and sniffed it before he took a sip.
My brother actually does this every single time. He's a wine collector since then. That's why he always spend time here sa bar na pagmamay-ari ng parents namin. He is the one who suggested this business to our father and he runs it very well.
He took another wine glass and put in front of me. I stare at him with a blank expression but he just smiled at me.
Zion: Come on. Try it, bro.
I took a deep breath and drink it in no time. Inisang lagok ko yun kahit alam kong hindi naman ganon ang tamang pag-inom ng wine.
Zion: Woah! Woah! Woah! That's not how you do it, Zeus!
Ewan ko ba. I feel like drinking. And it's crazy because it's early in the morning. Pwede naman na sa bahay na lang ako uminom pero iba ang ambiance kapag sa bar. Mas nakakarelax.
I frowned when I noticed my brother staring and laughing at me.
Zeus: Anong nginingisi-ngisi mo jan?
Zion: Wala. I'm just thinking kung anong problema mo. But let me guess.
Umarte sya ng parang nag-iisip at umiling-iling.
Zion: Girl problem?
Zeus: Sira ulo.
Kung kanina tawang nakakaloko lang ang ginawa nya, ngayon ay mas lalo nyang nilakasan ang pagtawa nya ng may halong pang-aasar.
Zion: Guilty. Sana naman hindi ka nagpahalata ng konti.
Zeus: Ewan ko sayo.
Zion: Chill, bro. Ano bang problema?
Zeus: How's Sam doing?
Zion: Ayon. Si Samantha pala ang dahilan.
Zeus: Stop teasing me, will you?!
Zion: Just drink, bro. I know nothing about girls.
Zeus: Really, huh? So you're not bothered about Sandro being with Samantha?
He shrugged at me and continued with his drink.
Zion: Bro. Matagal na akong nagparaya. And what I have for her is just an infatuation. You like her more than I do. Hindi naman kita tataluhin pagdating sa babae.
He gave me another drink and agad ko yun ininom.
I envy him. Buti pa sya, nakapagparaya at naka-move on na ng ganon-ganon lang. Pero bakit ako hindi? Ganon ko ba kagusto si Samantha? Marami namang ibang babae jan. But I chose to like her, walang iba. What's more weird is I'm not persuing her. I never attempt to court her kahit alam nyang gusto ko sya. More on ayaw kong ipilit ang sarili ko sa kanya dahil alam kong hindi naman ako ang gusto nya. She only see me as a friend, a brother. Nothing more, nothing less.
Zeus: Ito ba talaga ang hobby mo? Maging barista kapag walang trabaho sa opisina? Ang dami nyong project sa field ah?
Zion: This is just my past time. Isa pa, I can meet a lot of girls here. I'm looking for my soul mate.
Zeus: Soul mate my ass. Paano ka makakahanap ng matinong babae sa bar?
Zion: Shhh... don't judge them bro. Hindi naman lahat ng andito is masamang babae. Some are just having fun.
Zeus: Whatever.
Zion: And... to answer your question nga pala. Sammy is doing fine. Kaya lang parang hindi ko sya masyadong nakita kahapon.
Zeus: Maybe she's with her boyfriend.
Zion: Does it hurt?
Zeus: Ang alin?
Zion: Everytime you say anything about Samantha and her boyfriend.
Zeus: Ewan ko sayo, Zion. Jan ka na nga.
I was about to stood up when he stop me.
Zion: Hey, hey! Relax! Nagtatanong lang eh?
Zeus: Shut your mouth, bro.
Zion: Fine, fine.
But he's right. Medyo masakit, medyo may kirot sa puso. I was with her for how many years pero si Sandro? Kailan lang naman sila nagkakilala. Ano bang meron sa lalaki na yon? Damn it. There's too many things running on my mind.
Zion: Pero seryoso, ano bang problema? Si Sandro Marcos ba? O yung engagement nyo ni Samantha? I heard mom is rushing things.
Fck it. Isa pa sa pinoproblema ko yung bwisit na engagement na yan. Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ba ako o ano.
I played the wine in my glass and clear my throat.
Zeus: Honestly? I don't know.
Zion: What's your plan? Kaya ba sobrang chill mo dahil alam mong sayo rin naman mapupunta si Sammy?
Zeus: No.
Zion: Eh ano nga?
Zeus: I'm not happy about the idea na ikakasal sya sakin. That engagement is a crap.
Zion: What do you mean? You like her, di ba? Getting her through marriage is easy like 1-2-3.
Zeus: Yeah but... forcing her to marry me? Ayoko ng ganon, Zayn. Ayoko ng pakakasalan nya ko ng dahil lang sa napilitan sya. Dahil wala syang choice. Gusto ko kapag kinasal kami, pareho kami ng nararamdaman, yung mahal ko sya at mahal nya rin ako. Pero mukhang napakalabo non. Her whole world is rotating around Sandro. She loves that guy so much.
Zion: So anong balak mo? You will call off the engagement? How?
Zeus: I told you already. I don't know. I don't have anything in mind.
Zion: Okay sige. If you need my help, just let me know, ok?
Zeus: Thanks, dude.
Zion: Anytime, bro.
I left the bar and went straight to my parent's house. Maybe... just maybe... talking to my mom will help ease my mind. I was torn between letting Sammy go or be with her. It's making me crazy like sht. Hindi ko lang sya gusto. I love her so much. I was with her from childhood, teenage years, to college days. And I was so jealous with the thought that Sandro is the love of her life and not me. Never naging ako at hinding-hindi magiging ako.
