Dale was fixing up the mobile home with Jim's help. Some of the women were getting dinner together while Amy stayed glued to the small radio.

"Boy, that hose isn't long for this world, is it?" Dale huffed out annoyed.

"No sir."

"Where the hell are we gonna find a replacement?" Dale sighed looking at Jim.

"It's late. They should've been back by now." Amy said fidgeting with the dials on the radio.

"Worrying won't make it better." The old man mumbled wiping off his grease covered hands.

Lori had just left her tent where Carl and Sophia were playing cards. She glanced around camp looking for Shane but didn't find him anywhere.

"Shane ain't back yet?" The Grimes woman questioned Dale knowing he was meant to be on watch.

"No, but I wouldn't worry."

"It'll be dark soon. They shouldn't be out in those woods at night." Amy chimed in not easing the woman's nerves.

"I just hope he finds Cali." Lori sighed shaking her head. "She shouldn't have taken off alone."

"She's a teenager. They never listen to their parents. I was the same way when I was young. Thought I knew everything." Dale chuckled trying to lighten up the conversation. "She's a tough girl. She'll be alright."

"Lori!" Amy exclaimed causing the woman's attention to turn to the tree line the blonde was pointing towards.

Shane and Cali were both flushed and covered in sweat. The teenager was trying her hardest to walk normally but she had a bit of a limp. No one seemed to notice but Lori who thought her daughter was acting a little odd.

"What the hell's the matter with you!" Lori shouted as she reached her daughter and Shane halfway across camp. "You can't just go off alone without telling anybody!"

"I know mom." Cali replied with a roll of her eyes. "I just wanted some time to myself."

"You want to be alone? Then go sit in the damn tent by yourself! You don't go out into the woods where you could be killed!"

"Okay Lor." Shane cut in knowing that he'd already told Cali off about sneaking away. "I've talked to her and she knows not to do it again."

"Well I sure hope so." The woman scoffed glaring at her daughter. "Do you know how worried I was when nobody could find you?"

"I'm surprised you even noticed." Cali snapped back. She knew her mom wasn't the one to notice she was gone. Shane had told her that he was the one to ask Lori where she was and the woman had no clue.

"Of course I noticed! You're my daughter." Lori yelled offended with what her daughter was implying. "I notice everything. Just like I noticed how flushed you are right now and the limp you had walking over here. You going to explain what that's about?"

"Cal had a little run in with some of the dead." Shane sighed knowing Lori was probably going to freak out more but he wasn't going to tell her that the real reason her daughter was limping was because he just had his way with her. Shane would rather blame the dead than become one.

"What happened?"

"Well she put one down but another one came up behind her at the same time and knocked her over. I took the other one out before it could do anything but it knocked her down pretty good. That's why she's got a bit of a limp. She must of just twisted her ankle the wrong way. It's nothing serious I already checked her out."

Cali couldn't help the surprised look on her face at the story Shane was telling her mother. She had no idea he was such a good liar but it was safe to say the girl was impressed.

"Jesus Cali!" Lori sighed pulling her daughter into an unexpected hug. "Thank god Shane came and found you when he did."

"Yeah, he's a real hero isn't he?" Cali smirked looking over at Shane who blushed faintly when their eyes met.

"Thank you so much Shane." The Grimes woman then went on to hug him. "My daughter would be dead if it wasn't for you. You do so much for us."

"It's no problem Lor." The Walsh man nodded at Lori as she pulled away. "You guys are family."

"I just know Rick is so thankful that we have you here with us."

Cali went stiff at the mention of her father. She hated when anyone brought him up. She took her mother talking about him as a sign to take off.

Cali headed straight for the RV where Amy was still sitting at the picnic table.

Both Shane and Lori watched the teenager walk away each feeling guilty for different reasons.

Lori felt bad for bringing Rick up knowing her daughter would get upset at the mention of her late husband.

Shane on the other hand felt guilty for what he did back at the hospital. He knew that if Cali ever found out she'd hate him.

Shane couldn't have that happen. He was not going to lose Cali.
