After watching Rick and the others leave Cali headed to her and Shane's tent to grab of their dirty clothes. She knew the women would be going down to the quarry soon to do laundry and figured she might as well join them. Cali was hoping that being around the other women would help take her mind off of her dad.
The teen was busy gathering the dirty clothes into a basket that she didn't even notice Shane enter the tent behind her. She had no idea he was there until she felt his hands slither around her waist. Cali sighed softly leaning back into the warmth of Shane's muscular body.
"You okay?" The man mumbled pressing a kiss into the crook of her neck.
"No but I have to be."
"You don't have to be okay Cal. You're allowed to be upset."
"I know but I feel like it's not fair to be angry at him when he's trying to do something good for someone." Cali said turning to face him. Shane raised his hand to wipe away a stray tear that had fallen onto Cali's cheek.
"You can feel however you want Cali. It doesn't matter that Rick's doing something good. If you're pissed at him for leaving then you have every right to be pissed at him for leaving."
"I just don't want to think about it." The brunette huffed leaning her head against his shoulder. "I'm going to do laundry down at the quarry to hopefully take my mind off of things."
"Sounds boring." Shane smirked noticing the way she immediately pulled away from him and hit his chest after he said that.
"You're an ass."
"Why don't you come catch some frogs with me and Carl. I guarantee you'll have a lot more fun with us than you will cleaning Ed's underwear."
"Okay, first of all there's no way in hell I'd ever go anywhere near Ed's underwear." Cali gagged at the mental image of the man's underwear. "Second, I don't see how catching slimy frogs is going to cheer me up."
"Well you haven't seen my new and improved method yet." The man chuckled squeezing her hip.
"Unless it involves you in the water naked I think I'll pass."
"How about this..." Shane deviously smiled pulling the girl's body even closer to his own. "If you catch one... just one frog, you'll get a little reward tonight that may or may not involve me naked."
The Grimes girl thought for a moment leaving Shane on the edge of his seat, waiting for her answer. But the man knew as soon as he saw the blush on her cheeks that she wouldn't turn him down.
"I guess I can agree to that."
"Can you now?" He chuckled leaning in and capturing her lips with his. "You're so damn adorable Cal."
"Shane..." The teen groaned wrapping her arms around his neck and deepening the kiss.
Shane's hands that were on her waist quickly snaked down to squeeze her ass eliciting a soft moan from the girl. The two could feel the tension between them getting stronger but before anything else could happen they were interrupted by Carl yelling Shane's name.
The two begrudgingly broke away from each other panting. Cali giggled as Shane tried to adjust himself in his pants. No matter what he did it was very obvious that he was very excited.
"Take care of that and meet us down at the water." Cali smirked placing a quick kiss on the corner of Shane's mouth before walking away from him.
Cali exited the tent at the same moment her brother was about to open the zipper. "Hey buddy! You ready to catch some frogs?"
"Yes!" Carl cheered happily holding up a net that he must have gotten from Dale.
"Let's head down to the quarry."
"Are you coming with?" The boy asked excitedly following after his sister.
"Yep." Cali smiled. "But don't expect me to touch any of those slimy frogs."
"What about Shane?"
"He's going to meet us there."
"Why can't he come now?" Carl asked innocently.
"Well... he has a little issue that he needs to take care of before he can come with us."
"Is he okay?"
"Oh yeah, he's more than okay." Cali chuckled to herself.
