Chapter 16

Gwen's Pov~

That morning was the best morning I had in a long time. The memory of finally having her bare skin beneath my hands still makes the hair on my arms stand straight. She was the most beautiful girl in the world and I'd never get over seeing her the way she was. The sun was just coming up so the orangey hue was perfect on her skin. I couldn't believe that happened.

I sat on my bed holding a squishmallow i had gotten a few years back. Nothing could hold back my smile. The way this girl made me feel. And Gale and Storey knew all about everything I felt. Sometimes I wondered if they got tired of it.

"Honey, dinner," My mom halfway walked in to tell me food was ready. This time I didn't even race my brother to get first dibs and I just sat on my bed with the goofiest smile you've ever laid eyes on and nodded.

Once the door closed back again I fell onto my side and squealed into the squishmallow while kicking my legs.

Once I was done freaking out I got my food downstairs and went back upstairs with it in my hand. When I got upstairs I picked up my phone to Facetime Lee. She almost immediately picked up and set her phone on her desk so I could see her. Her walls looked so bare from her boxing everything up. She gave me a cheeky smile and asked what I was doing.

"I'm just eating, we had lasagna tonight!" I held up my plate for her to see and she giggled. We talked for a couple hours before I started getting tired and fell asleep on call.

The next day my alarm went off, scaring the living shit out of me. It felt like I bolted five feet into the air from the mere fright that came from my stupid alarm clock.

I quickly turned it off and brushed a hand through my hair sighing at the same time.

I looked at the clock to see that it was 6:00 AM. I was still on break so I could go to sleep but I couldn't.

My phone died so Lee and I weren't on call anymore. I put my phone on charge and started getting ready to go out.

I put light makeup on just to make my eye bags less noticeable but nothing else, put on some loose jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie over it. I went downstairs and got a quick breakfast before going back upstairs and grabbing my phone and leaving.

I wasn't sure where I was going but I needed to go somewhere. Just to clear my mind a bit. Just for a little while. Although I was so happy we did that with each other, I would alternate between being the happiest girl in the world to overthinking every single one of my moves. I never felt this way with anyone I had ever had sex with and it was killing me. I knew I liked her but sex was always the main thing that I was confident in and she even had me doubting that.

I was thrown out of my thoughts when my phone started ringing. Speak of the devil.. that was a joke.

I picked my phone up and heard the tired but still chirpy voice on the other end.

"Hi!! What are you doing?" Lee asked and I smiled at the sound of her voice. I'm glad it was her that knocked me out of my own head.

"Just driving around a bit. Why are you up?" I asked looking at the clock in my car and seeing that it was 7:00.

"It's stupid.. My school alarm went off and I thought we actually had school," She said and laughed.

"I did the same thing," I said through a smile.

"what are you doing today? Maybe we can hang out again," She suggested. I thought about it and remembered i had plans with Storey and Gale today.
