Lee's Pov~

-

"Do you want to?"

"Want to what?"

"Try again?"

My heart pounded as the words left my mouth. Too late to take it back now.

Not that I wanted to take it back. Of course I didn't. All I wanted was for Gwen to be back with me everyday. I wanted to wake up to her beautiful, peaceful presence in my bed every morning. But what if she doesn't want that anymore. It's been a long time now. What? Like 4 weeks? What if she's moved on now? What if she thinks I'm a bitch for breaking up with her in the first place?

Her eyes scanned over my face for a minute, reading every bit of insecurity and worry I had written all over myself. Maybe if I was lucky enough the Earth would open up beneath me and swallow me whole. I'd be buried under the cold dirt and I'd never have to worry about whether someone loved me still or not.

"Are you being-"

"I'm being completely real Gwen. I want to try again." I cut her off and immediately felt bad for doing so.

"I.. I'd really love to. So much," She smiled and suddenly a weight was gone off my shoulders. A big grin replaced my worried look as my happiness washed over me.

"Really?" I asked and she nodded and I felt tears of happiness sting at my eyes.

I attempted to fight them off but eventually gave up and let them roll down my cheeks. I moved myself to Gwen's side and held her in a tight hug.

"God, I've missed you." I laughed through tears as she stroked her hand through my hair.

She hummed in response and laid her head down on mine.

"You ready to go?" She asked. I nodded and we both got up to leave.

"Cya later Hailey," Gwen waved as she threw her cup into the trash.

"Bye! Have a good day," Hailey smiled.

We made our way out to the car and I slid into my seat with a groan.

"What?" Gwen chuckled.

"I'm so sorry for thinking there was something between you two." I buried my face into my hands and Gwen laughed.

"Don't laugh!" She smiled at me and pulled me over to kiss my forehead.

"It's cute," She laughed.

"No it's not! It's embarrassing!"

"Mmm but it's cute," She gave me a toothy smile.

I rolled my eyes as she shimmied the car out of its parallel spot along the side of the small cafe. I watched her side profile as she focused her eyes on the road and drove.

She hummed to the song playing and I smiled at her until she came to a stop and turned to face me.

"Do you want to go somewhere cool?" She asked.

I smiled. "Of course."

She smiled back and once the light turned green she made a couple turns until we ended up on a narrow gravel road with trees hanging over the path, acting as a shade.

Little rays of sunlight shone through the trees and onto the road ahead of us and on the sides were wooden fences, blocking off giant green fields of horses and cows.

I had never seen this part of town.

"It's so pretty back here.." I said in awe as I watched the road pass us by out my window.
