Chapter 17

Lee's Pov~

I woke up drenched in sweat and panting.

Not again.

I quickly stripped my clothing and climbed out of bed to witness my own puffy red eyes in my bathroom mirror. I rubbed at them and started my my naked body, judging almost everything about it. I shook my head and ran the shower.

I wasn't sure what time it was. I didn't pick my phone up or anything, just walked to my bathroom.

I stepped into the shower and groaned quietly when the hot water hit my skin.

Ever since Gwen and I did that in her car I had been having dreams, well nightmares I guess, about my uncle and aunt finding out and kicking me out of the house or doing something else drastic about it. The being kicked out part isn't scary since I technically have an apartment to go back to. It's them finding out that scares me.

Finding everything out about me and Gwen. Everything going back to the first time we kissed. My uncle would freak out and as always my aunt would just follow his lead. They'd probably disown me and blame everything on Gwen.

I stepped out onto my soft bath mat and finished with my regular morning routine except my makeup and went back to my bed only wearing my robe. I laid downwind picked my phone up without seeing any notifications so I pit it back down on my bedside table and went back to sleep.

When I woke up it was to the sound of my phone going off. At first I thought it was an alarm so I slept through it until it stopped but then it started again so I actually woke up that time. I picked my phone up to see that it was Gwen calling me.

"Hello?" I said, answering the call.

"Hey, I know this is super weird and it's early in the morning and shit but do you think I could stay in your place when you move in? Just for a bit. I'm having some problems at home right now." She replied and I just sat and thought about her question for a second before clearing my throat, realizing I had left her waiting for an answer a second too long.

"Um, yeah! That's fine. Y'know as long as you help with rent and stuff." I joked a little but secretly hoped she would help with that stuff because even though the apartment was cheap for it's size it was still a lot of money for someone who's still in school.

"I definitely will. Thank you so much you don't know how much help this is." She sounded so genuinely happy and I was glad I could help a friend.

Friend.

We talked for a little while and then at some point said our goodbyes and hung up. She sounded tired. Like she didn't know what she was doing or where she was going. She didn't talk about what was going on at home at all but I could tell it was taking it's tole on her.

Today was the day I was going to move my stuff into the apartment. I would have Gwen help me and then I'd go over for a bit and help her pack her stuff while nobody else was home. Break was over and we were supposed to be in school today but I guessed that Gwen was skipping so I decided to do the same. I went ahead and started to get the small boxes that were stacked to the ceiling of my closet and loaded them up into my small car. I realized with just my car right now it would take several trips to get everything to the apartment. Whatever. It didn't matter.
