Gwen leaned over on the counter, waiting for customers to walk in so she could do something.

"You know you could check on the customers that are already here," Her boss, Tyler came up behind her. He was cleaning the already clean counters but he always said it just made him look productive.

"I know but that seems pushy, they've only been here like ten minutes." He chuckled and shrugged.

"Whatever you say."

Tyler was pretty cool, he obviously wanted things to get done but he never shoved it down anyone's throat.

It had been a week since Gwen and Gale had their argument and Gwen still hadn't explained anything to him. It was all she could think about but she couldn't bring herself to text him. She just guessed the got her pettiness from her mom.

Ding!

Gwen turned her attention to the door and saw two people come in. She sighed when she saw who one of them was. Lee. God does she just live to antagonize the girl??

She looked down at the counter and then back up at the girl.

"Hi. What do you want?" She looked over at Tyler to make sure he didn't hear her rude welcome.

"Oh. Uh-"

She stuttered on her words for a second before the second person stepped up to take their order.

"I'd like an iced mocha latte with extra cream please." The woman said and Gwen put her order in and looked at Lee.

"What about you?"

"Uh, uhm.."

"Lee I won't bite."

"Oh. Just a caramel frappe.." She muttered.

"Okay, is that all?" The girls nodded and Gwen told them their total and Lee handed Gwen her card.

Gwen walked to the kitchen and groaned loudly.

"Who's that about?"

"Homophobes."

Tyler chuckled and made an "Ahh" sound before going to make a breakfast sandwich.

Gwen walked over and started making the two coffees. Once she was done she brought them back out to the two girls who were sitting at the bar stools. Gwen didn't know the other girl but she had seen her at church before.

"Hey, I'm so sorry can I also get a chocolate donut?" She said and Gwen smiled and nodded as she handed the girl her coffee.

"That's an extra $2.25." The girl handed her her card and Gwen went to the back to get the donut.

When she came back out she was left only with Lee.

"Oh, I'll take it. She went out to her car to get something she'll be back in a second." Gwen said nothing and just handed her the donut on a small glass plate.

The other girl came in along with Storey a few steps behind her. The girl sat next to Lee and Storey came up to the counter.

"Hey!" Storey pulled her into a hug from across the counter.

"Hey, what's up?"

"We'll I was just going to come say hi but I think I'll get a coffee too." Storey ordered her coffee and Gwen made it at the counter instead of the kitchen so she could stay and talk to her.

"Wait." Storey turned around and looked at the small table behind her with Lee and her friend.

"That's not-" Gwen nodded.

"No way. Did she know you worked here?"

Gwen shrugged.

"I have no idea. Probably not. She was frozen and stuttering the whole time she was ordering so it was obviously a surprise for her to see me here." Storey laughed and took a sip of her coffee.

Storey was always really pretty. She always wore her baggy shirts and jean shorts to match. It never got really cold where they lived so she never had a reason to wear anything other than that. She was always at the beach or outside so she had a bronze tan to her and freckles all over her face.

Gwen would be lying if she said she didn't find her attractive. She was definitely her type. If she really had a type. She could say that Lee was her type physically speaking and then say that Storey was also her type but they looked nothing alike.

She caught Lee glancing over at her a couple times and when she would look she'd smiled really big at Storey in hopes of making her jealous.

"Okay, you can't lie to me, Gwen. You're totally into her." Storey leaned over the counter and whispered to her, causing the girl to blush a little.

"I am not. Shut up."

"There it is! You're so into her."

Lee overheard their conversation a little but all she heard was "you're into her" She couldn't help but wonder who Gwen was into and feel a sort of rage about it. Her friend, Lacy had barely payed any attention to her the whole time they had been there. She just stared at her phone and sipped her coffee.

She had wanted to go to the counter and attempt to apologize to Gwen again but Storey walked in about thirty minutes ago and didn't seem to want to leave so she was trying to think of a way to get the girls attention away from her.

She had been holding the plate from the donut in her hands as she zoned out watching Gwens movements behind the counter. She was so charming. Her gestures were so.. gentle. But hot. Lee always thought about the way that Gwen had grown so much since they were friends.

CLANG

Lacy gasped at Lee as she immediately dropped to the ground after dropping the glass plate.

"I'm so so sorry!" She started picking up pieces of glass off of the ground and Gwen rushed over.

Lee was visibly panicking though Gwen wasn't sure if it was out of embarrassment or the fact that she was there. She crouched down and started to help Lee pick up the pieces before grabbing her hand.

Lee's heart stopped at this and she looked directly into the girls face at the concerned expression.

"You're bleeding again." Gwen chuckled, remembering the first time she had to clean the girls hand. Storey walked over and crouched down.

"Hey, I can get this. Go get cleaned up." She started picking pieces up and Lee started to protest but Gwen pulled her up off of the ground and to the bathroom.

Lee sat on the counter just like last time and Gwen took her hand and cleaned it with a wet paper towel.

"This is a familiar situation," Gwen said through a chuckle, looking up at the girl. She looked like she had been shot through the heart ten different times by Cupid. Her pupils were dilated and her eyes were much darker than usual. She barely had a reaction to Gwens words other than her eyes lighting up at her voice. They stared at each other for a good minute, both of them captivated by the other.

"I- Here just hold that on your hand. I'll get a bandage from the back." Gwen said, handing her the towel and rubbing her nose with her sleeve. She walked out of the bathroom, leaving Lee sitting there with her thoughts which was a bad idea because the girl soon began to cry.

She only felt guilt. She was so mean to Gwen for no reason other than she did support her. She ruined their friendship because of her beliefs. She outed her. She called her names.

She continued to cry as embarrassed tears fell down her cheeks.

The bathroom door opened and the tall figure appeared in the door.

"Hey.. What's wrong?" Gwen walked towards Lee and held her.

She tried to make out a sentence but she could only get out a quiet "sorry" before burying her head in the girls shoulder.
