Narrator's Pov~

Lee walked down the hall to her locker and grabbed her computer, stuffing it in her bag. As she crouched down to zip her bag there was a tall shadow that casted over her. She looked up to see Gwen standing over her.

"Hey," She smiled down at the girl on the ground and Lee felt her cheeks grow warm at the smile but quickly brushed away the feeling.

"Hi!" She smiled back.

"What're you up to after school? We can go out together.." She trailed off, regretting how her words came out.

Go out together? You dumb bitch.

"Yeah! I was just going to go to the library after school. I have a few books to bring back and I thought I'd get a couple new ones and maybe a movie. You should come with me." She suggested, standing back up.

Gwen agreed and they made a plan to take Gwen's car after school.

That morning affected Lee's mood greatly masking the fact that the night before was a disaster with her family. She didn't tell her aunt and uncle that she was going out so she got in trouble for not going back home immediately and get into even more trouble because she was out after sunset. Throughout that day she was chirpy and happy with everyone.

Finally her last class and then the library with Gwen. She skipped in and sat down right next to Gale.

"You're in a good mood," He smiled. It had been forever since they talked as friends and not just for some school assignment or something.

"Yeah! I have plans after school," She grinned back.

"Oh yeah? What are your plans?" He teased.

"I'm going to the library!" He laughed at her excitement.

"Just the library? Nobody special going? No church shit? No orgy?" She wrinkled her face up at his last comment.

"Ew. And yes someone special is going." She said matter-of-factly.

He sat with a questioning face before she finally got the hint.

"It's Gwen," She said with a smile tugging at the corners of her lips at the sound of her name. She wasn't even trying to fight it anymore.

Gale looked at her with a surprised face that faded into a smile.

"Good," He said. "I'm glad you two are finally getting along."

After class was over Lee quickly left the room and darted to her locker, hoping she wouldn't beat Gwen to her car so she didn't look desperate

"You're in a rush," A familiar voice found itself behind the shorter girl, startling her.

"Uh, I just really love the library," She smiled, making a lame excuse.

"Whatever i'm sure it's because you're in love with me." Gwen teased, placing a hand on the smaller girls waist, sending shivers up Lee's spine.

She shoves her bag into her locker after staring at Gwen's face for a good ten seconds. Embarrassing..

"Ready?" She shouts out, a little louder than planned.

"Yeah I'm ready!" Gwen shouts back. Lee rolls her eyes and Gwen removes her hand from the girl's waist leaving an empty feeling where it once was. "Let's go,"

Gwen and Lee walk side by side closely to her car, their hands grazing each other's every now and then.

Lee gets in the driver seat before Gwen reaches it.

"You fucker." Gwen laughed and got into the passenger. "You know how to drive right? You won't kill us?"

Lee rolls her eyes and takes the keys from her hand.

"I'm 18 years old. Yes I know how to drive." She backs out and Gwen jerks forward dramatically. Lee hits her shoulder and laughs.

She drives them to the library and grabs her tote bag with her books in it. They get inside and she goes to the counter to return them.

"Hi! How can I help?" An attractive blonde girl appears from behind the counter and offers a smile.

"Yeah I'm just going to return these and look around a bit." Lee returns the smile and Gwen huffs to herself. She doesn't have to hide that she likes Lee she's openly a lesbian which she can partly thank Lee for but still she doesn't really care about that, it was six years ago.

"Okay, thank you I'll be right over here when you want to check out again." She said and then sat in a chair and picked a book up.

"Come on," Lee said in a hushed voice. They walked through the rows and Lee showed Gwen different books she had read or books she wanted to read.

She picked one up and turned to Gwen.

"I love this book. I've read it probably five times now and it's so good every time." She said and Gwen smiled at her little spark of excitement when she saw the book.

"Do you want to watch the sunset on the beach again? You could read some of that to me if you wanted to." Gwen suggested and Lee grinned at her.

"Of course yes." She said softly, looking up at the taller girl. She looked at her eyes and quickly turned around and walked quickly away from her.

"Wait! Lee slow down a bit let me catch up!" Gwen said trying to catch up to the girl without making a scene. Suddenly Lee turned around after they went behind one of the bookshelf's and took Gwen's face in her hands, pressing her lips on the other girl's softly.

Gwen melted into the kiss and held Lee's waist, bringing her closer to her. Gwen's heart fluttered as she felt Lee smile into the kiss. Lee pulled her face from Gwen's but didn't meet the girls eyes. Instead she just put her forehead on Gwen's chest and let out a soft giggle.

Gwen did an internal victory dance as her smile grew. Sure the kiss in he cage bathroom was great but the kiss behind the bookshelf in a library was real and passionate and made her happy instead of confused and somewhat mad.

Lee checked her books out and Gwen played with a strand of her hair as she stood waiting for her books.

They drove to the cafe Gwen worked at and got some drinks and talked while Lee read one of her books on the balcony. Once it started getting later they headed over to the beach to the usual spot where Gwen usually went.

They set up a spot and laid together and watched the sunset.

"Hey," Gwen whispered to Lee.

"Hey," Lee whispered and smiled at Gwen.

"You should smile more around me. I like it." Gwen said in a normal voice.

"Then you should be around me more." Lee elbowed Gwen playfully and leaned her head on her shoulder. Gwen's face turned a shade of pink and and her lips curved up.

"We should hang out more often."

"I'd like that."
