Chapter 18
A Sporting Chance Part 2
"ShiiShii doesn't look so good" said Chumley.
"No joke", said Zombina. "She's almost lost half of her life points, and Polt hasn't lost a single one yet".
"That's enough for now", said Polt. "So, I'll put these facedown and end my turn".
"Very well then, my turn", said ShiiShii drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Zombie Master". Her monster then appeared on her field.
"Now for it's special ability", said ShiiShii. "I can discard one monster from my hand to special summon one zombie monster from my graveyard. So, I send Armoured Zombie to the graveyard, to summon back Pyramid Turtle, in defence mode". Her monster then appeared on her field.
"Next, I play the Shard of Greed", said ShiiShii. "Now, for every card I draw, I get a counter. When I have enough, I can send Shard to the graveyard to draw one card for each counter. Now, Ryu-Kokki! Attack Mighty Slugger!".
"WHAT?!" Shouted Syrus.
"That doesn't make any sense", said Alexis. "Mighty Slugger has 3200 attack points, Kokki only 2400". Ryu-Kokki went in for the attack, only to get destroyed.
ShiiShii: 5100 - 800 = 4300
"There a reason why you sent that monster in?" Asked Polt.
"You're about to find out" said ShiiShii with a smirk. A large bony hand came out of the ground, grabbed Slugger and pulled him under.
"Hey, where'd my monster go?" Asked Polt.
"When Ryu-Kokki is destroyed by battle", said ShiiShii. "The monster that destroyed it is destroyed at the end of the damage step. I think I'll set this facedown and end my turn for now".
"My turn", said Polt drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon, Ultra Athlete Midfielder, in attack mode". Her new monster was an adult male wearing futuristic sporting equipment, but in a different style.
Ultra Athlete Midfielder

Attribute: Earth
Type: Warrior
ATK: 1200 + 400 = 1600
DEF: 1000
"Now, time for one of stadium's effects", said Polt. "Since I normal summoned an 'Ultra Athlete' monster, I get to add an 'Ultra Athlete' card to my hand. Next, I'll play the spell card, double team. Since I summoned an 'Ultra Athlete' monster this turn, I can normal summon again. So, I sacrifice my Midfielder to Ultra Athlete Rival Rebounder". Midfielder disappeared and the new monster was an adult man wearing futuristic basketball equipment, only in a different style.
Ultra Athlete Rival Rebounder

Attribute: Earth
Type: Warrior
ATK: 2200 + 400 = 2600
DEF: 2300
"And now for Rebounder's special ability", said Polt. "When he's normal or special summoned, I get to special summon another 'Ultra Athlete' from my hand or graveyard. So, say hello, once again, to Midfielder". Her monster then appeared on the field.
