Chapter 37: Punishment & Responsibility

When the man had asked them these questions, they weren't sure how they were to react to it. Until, Timothy cleared his throat
'I'm a noble. So why the hell am I scared of a guard' Timothy thought before talking "I'm Timothy. A fallen noble from the northern tribe and the ambassador to the Fallen" he said "Our leaders told us to come here and meet with them. We plan on setting up base here"
"That explains why you're here. But, what of the human?" The man asked while pointing to Priya
"She....got injured while following us. She practically heard everything we spoke of and we couldn't let her go without a decision from the higher ups" Timothy said
"Is there any other ambassador apart from you?" The man asked
"Zuri and my sister, Lilith" Timothy said and both Zuri and Lilith walked up
"The others can stay behind. The three of you should come with me" the man said as he opened the door "And bring the human. The prince could scent her from a mile away" he said as he entered the mansion and Timothy gulped
"What's wrong, Tim?" Zuri asked noticing his expression
"Of all the people to scent this girl, it just had to be the southern prince" Timothy said
"This couldn't be good" Lilith said as the three of them walked forward while pulling Priya
'What have I gotten myself into' Priya wondered as they entered the mansion and the door was shut behind them.

In the dinning room, everyone was seated having breakfast well, everyone except Nathan, Sloane and Mackenzie.
"They're pulling this stunt again today" Rosco sighed as he stared at the three empty seats
"What? You wanted to keep staring at Mackenzie's cute little face?" Jerald asked out loud and Rosco's cheeks turned red
"What the hell are you talking about?" Rosco asked and everyone burst into laughter
"I never knew the lass had feelings like that" Marcus said "Well, that explains why he recently became chatty" he said and everyone laughed
"The saying 'They grow up too fast' suits this scenario" Christian said with a chuckle
"Stop. Stop. I don't want her to hear you" Rosco said as he buried his face in his hands "It's too embarrassing"
"Well, that's because you're both still kids" Alexa said
"If the two of you were older, it would be something awkward" Fernanda said
"Example....Nathan and Sloane" Clark said
"They keep pretending that nothing's there" Josey said "But come on, are anyone of us blind?" She asked and they all burst into laughter only for a voice to ring in their heads
"If you all don't want to end up blind, you better shut your mouths" Nathan's voice resounded "I don't really care about what you say, but just be glad Sloane and Mackenzie can't hear anything unless they focus. I am not ready to be in the center of another awkward moment, because of a misunderstanding" he said
"We didn't say anything" Nathan's parents said
"I just wanted to know if you really felt that way about her" Cassandra stated truthfully
"My relationship with Sloane is something even I don't understand" Nathan said "The seeds make it difficult to understand anything. Especially now that the two of us have completely lost control. Either way, we'll be coming down for breakfast soon.....they're a few guests that have been awaiting your reply" he said and then, the mind link was cut
"Guests? What guests?" Natasha asked before she heard a knock on the dinning room door
"Come in" Rebecca said and the young blonde man opened the door
"Commander Henry, what brings you here?" Marcus asked and the man walked in with Timothy, Zuri, Lilith and Priya. Seeing the human, Marcus' brow frowned and his aura began serious and suffocating.
"King Marcus, the prince told me to escort these people inside" Henry said "Apparently, they have something to do with the conversation you all had yesterday. As they claim to be the ambassadors of the Fallens" he said and Alexa's group had taken a look at them
"Do you know them?" Allen asked
"The guy's name is Tim. He's the ambassador we selected" Alexa said "Then there's his little sister, Lilith and Christian's sister, Zuri"
"Honestly, with everything going on, we almost forgot all of you" Christian said while laughing
"You almost forgot about us?" Zuri shouted "How are you even a Vampire Knight to the Queen, idiot?"
"Do you really want to test me, little sis?" Christian asked
"Silence" Marcus said and they all kept quiet
"I'm sorry for my subordinate's behaviour, King Marcus" Timothy said
"Don't worry" Rebecca said "We already have to deal with these lousy children. I'm sure Marcus doesn't mind" she said in a cheerful manner "I'm more interested in the human" she pointed at Priya "I want to know why she's here"
"She-"
"I can speak for myself" Priya said which shocked Timothy
"Young lady, there's a certain amount of respect you're meant to show each person in this room" Rebecca said and Priya was forced to look down "Even as you are a human, you got involved in our affairs and have brought upon a punishment to the werewolves and vampire you came with" she said and Priya clenched her fists
"I-I-I'm sorry" Priya said "Please don't....punish them. I-It was my fault"
"Even my own son couldn't escape the punishment for bringing a human here" Marcus said "And he was the prince. The three beside you, are nothing but nobles who have currently fallen from grace" he added
"You explaining yourself, could lessen their punishment" Natasha said
"Our brother's punishment was lessened by a lot due to the severity of the situation" Cassandra said and Priya gulped
"I-I followed them" Priya said "I hopped on the back of the bus and held on. A-at the time I-I tried to get on the bus, I'd scrapped my knee" she stammered "Once I was on, I-I listened in on their conversations and I had planned to run to town and tell them everything. But we were already deep in the forest and it was night. I was so afraid.....I didn't run until Tim caught me on the back of the bus and tied me up" she looked up "I'm very sorry"
"Good" Rebecca said and all her seriousness disappeared like the wind "Henry, take them and their group to that part of the settlement, to settle in"
"Yes, your Highness" Henry said with a bow
"Also, don't forget to show them the way things are done, here" Marcus said while taking a sip from his tea "I'll also need a list of their people's names, ages, skills and powers if any, by noon" he said
"Yes, your Majesty" Henry said
"What of the punishment?" Zuri couldn't help but ask
"Your punishment is to take responsibility for what you've done" Allen said "You brought a human here, so you that responsibility for the human" he explained
"Unfortunately, she won't be able to leave here and head back to the human town. That's her punishment" Marcus said "As for the rest of you.....for bringing her here, you'll be protecting her with your life. If she dies, prepare to die with her. She's your responsibility from today henceforth. She's your punishment" he added
"Marcus has said it all. You're dismissed" Rebecca said and they all bowed before turning to leave when, Nathan barged into the dinning room with a deep frown on his face
