Chapter 31: First Kiss

When Nathan walked up to Sloane, everyone was expecting him to use his demon seed against her spirit seed since the powers were said to rival each other.
What they didn't expect, was for Nathan to lower his head and kiss Sloane on the lips. As such, the blank reactions on everyone's faces. They were just too surprised...too dumbfounded even, to believe what they were seeing.
"Oh my demons" Alexa muttered while staring at Nathan and Sloane
One of Nathan's hands was holding the side of Sloane's face while he kissed her passionately and greedily. Soon, Sloane began to slowly kiss him back as the black color engulfing her hand began to change shape as it hurriedly moved up to her chest.
The tattoo that had disappeared from Nathan's back had appeared once again and glowed through his shirt. Something strange had also happened to Sloane as just above her bosoms, around her collarbone, a faint gold light lit up through her crop top.
The gold light had the shape of straight wings with no detailing of feathers. It looked more like the fore limbs of a bird.
Suddenly, Nathan felt the urge to move his hand from her face, down her body but he had stopped himself and pulled away from her lips with hesitation as he opened his eyes and stared at her. Sloane's face was flushed red as she stared into Nathan's eyes and remembered the feeling of his lips on hers; oh, how she wanted that feeling again. But then she saw him lick his lips which had caused her to blush furiously.
Immediately, Nathan stood up straight as he stared at her while the others looked from Nathan to Sloane and then back.
"This is almost like the story of sleeping beauty" Brianna murmured and the blush on Sloane's face increased while Nathan just stared before instantly walking away
"Where are you-"
"We have to prepare for training tomorrow. Get your butts moving" Nathan said immediately as he quickened his pace and walked out the door; practically ignoring Allen
"That guy" Allen murmured before looking at Sloane "Really did something shocking" he added but then he could see the happy faces of Nathan's sisters
"Mum and dad have got to hear about this" Natasha said
"I can already imagine their faces when we tell them that Nathan kissed someone" Cassandra said with a giggle
"What's the big deal with that?" Jerald asked
"Oh. You don't know" Dante said "Let me tell you. That was Nathan's first kiss" he said and Sloane sat up with widened eyes and her blush increasing as she covered her lips.
When the others noticed her reaction, Christian's brain was the first to start working
"Wait a second. It couldn't be" Christian said "Sloane, was that also your first kiss?" he asked and she became as red as a tomato before she got up from the seat and cleared her throat
"We all have to prepare for training tomorrow. We should probably get moving" Sloane said as she slowly back away before running off
"I take her running, as a yes" Jerald said with a smirk "Anyone else think so?" he asked and they all nodded in agreement
"We should probably start heading home" Alexa suggested and they all agreed
"Thanks, Dante, for allowing us to train under you" Fernanda said but when she looked around, Dante was nowhere to be found "Where did he go?" she asked and everyone shrugged
"Where's dad?" They heard a little voice ask and when they looked to the side, Mackenzie was wide awake "And where's Sloane?" she asked before getting up from the seat and looking around "It's changed" she said and everyone was confused
"What's changed?" Rosco asked
"Dad and Sloane's presence" Mackenzie answered "The color of their presence has changed" she said before standing up and looking at the door "That way. They both went that way" she said before running off
"That kid" Jerald said as he ran after her and so did the others
"Thanks for everything" Clark shouted as they ran out the door before shutting it and Leviticus shook his head
"I should be thanking you"

Nathan was back in the human world sitting near the spring he had found Dante. His ears were red as he thought back to his kiss with Sloane and had combed his hair back with his hand.
"Her lips were so soft" he murmured and let out a low growl before shutting his eyes.
His brows frowned and he opened his eyes again and looked to his side only to see Dante sitting next to him
"Has your accelerating heartbeat reduced a bit?" Dante asked and Nathan frowned
"What are you talking about?" Nathan asked and Dante scoffed
"Who are you trying to fool Nathan?" Dante asked "Remember, I helped you tame your seed. I know it inside and out" he said while looking at Nathan directly in the eyes "The others might not have noticed it....but I, did" he said and Nathan's eyes widened
"What are you-"
"You wanted more from her. Didn't you?" Dante asked "You wanted to do more than just kiss her" he said "I saw your hand slowly move away from her face. I saw how you passionately and greedily kissed her, Nathan. It might have been your first kiss, but the desire and raw emotions you have for her, were what you were trying to hide"
"I-"
"How are the voices in your head?" Dante asked and Nathan was speechless "Let me rephrase that. How are the screams in your head?" He asked and Nathan's eyes sunk in
"How did you know about that?" Nathan asked
"I might not know how many years have passed since I last saw you, but do you really think I wouldn't improve my skills?" Dante asked with a chuckle "Nathan, Nathan, Nathan. Do you really think I wouldn't notice when you and the Princess lost control of your seeds?" he asked but Nathan didn't answer which made him sigh
"I'll help the two of you tame it again. However, I can't make any promises. Your seed especially, has grown too strong for me to tame" Dante said "Come back tomorrow and we'll see what we can do about it" he said and with that, he was gone.
Nathan sat there alone for sometime until Sloane's scent entered his nostrils and his whole body froze.
"I finally found you" Sloane said but Nathan didn't say anything "I-I wanted to apologise for taking your first kiss" she said with a blush and nervousness laced in her voice which made Nathan look at her before sighing
"That was your first kiss too, wasn't it?" Nathan asked and she froze before nodding "I was the one who stole your first kiss. You just so happened to kiss me back so, we're pretty much even" he suddenly said and she froze again
'So, he didn't feel anything?' Sloane asked herself 'I actually felt embarrassed, my heart wouldn't stop beating whenever I saw him, yet...'
"He felt nothing" Sloane murmured and Nathan looked at her in shock
"Sloane?" He said but she just shook her head and smiled
"It's nothing" she said and someone hugged her from behind "Kenzie?" Sloane let out realising who it was
"I thought I'd never see you again" Mackenzie cried "Please, don't make me worry so much"
"I'm sorry. It won't happen again" Sloane said and when she turned around, she could see the others
"Well, let's go home" Nathan said as he picked up Mackenzie and she wrapped her arms around his neck and started walking.
The others followed behind him but Mackenzie kept her eyes on Sloane. She blinked and her vision had changed again. Sloane's silhouette in Mackenzie's eyes, had taken a gold color from white while Nathan's had turn dark red. She looked at where Sloane's heart was and saw it blink red before looking at Nathan and seeing his, doing the same.
She narrowed her eyes and could see a purple smog moving around their hearts. She blinked again and her vision was back to normal.
Mackenzie had already seen it with her two eyes; something big was troubling Nathan and Sloane. And she was sure it made them very sad.
'I'll need to help them in any way I can' Mackenzie thought to herself
