Chapter 91: Hope In The Snow I

The ground within Sloane's zone began to freeze and the temperature dropped significantly as the sky became cloudy. Every breath made in Sloane's zone came out foggy and the enemies who were within the zone, got slower and slower until they froze.
 The forests were overcome with fog and it began to snow. It was a phenomenon that caught the eyes of everyone within Sloane's zone. For the first time ever, snow fell in summer.

West
Jacqueline's Forest
"What is this?" Jerald asked as he caught a snowflake in his hand and it melted
"Michelle family's bloodline magic" Gard said as he got off the ground while holding his missing arm "To think she's already mastered it and even surpassed King Reese. Leon will have to think twice on the moves he makes now. He more than anyone knows how disastrous this bloodline magic is"
"You shouldn't be moving around like this...King Gard" Timothy said as he took out an injection with the same red liquid inside and walked towards Gard with it. "This should help with your slowed healing" Timothy said as he injected it just above the rip on Gard's arm
Gard's arm let out some steam and began to reform. In a matter of minutes, Gard had regrown his whole arm.
"This medicine is pretty crazy" Gard said as he clenched and unclenched his regrown arm
"Priya worked on it" Timothy said
"Speaking of Priya, she and Fern are back" Jerald said
"Don't call me Fern. We aren't close" Fernanda said
"Sloane gave an order" Priya said "Everyone should move the dead, injured and non fighters. We're abandoning the East and West"
"Wait. Seriously?" Jerald asked
"That's what she said but we're not abandoning it completely" Fernanda said "Enemy forces can't penetrate Sloane's zone while she's using her bloodline magic. Leon might be a Michelle but he's not as strong as the current Sloane and her spirit seed, enough to overwhelm the laws of her bloodline magic"
"That, plus, something really bad happened down East and we need to regroup and track the number of our forces" Priya said "Luckily, Demon General Melissa's body wasn't taken from the East and they were even able to find her soul"
"What happened in the East?" Gard asked worriedly
"A new leader will need to be chosen" Priya said as she noticed that everyone from the West had gathered with a couple carrying dead bodies and some, the injured
"Finally, we can go home" Fernanda said as she, Priya, Timothy and Jerald stretched their hands forward
The markings Clark put on them before, began to grow and move to their palms. The markings glowed and four different portals opened up
"Start moving through them" Jerald said as he dropped his hands "I'll check to see if anyone's been left behind" he made a jump with the power in his legs and was off
"I'll go help him" Fernanda said as she also dropped her hands and left

East
Silver Lining
"That's all of them, right?" Josey asked. She was surrounded by the easterners who had been doing the same as the West. And on her back, was Brianna's mother, the dead concubine.
"Yeah" Christian said. He was carrying Lucard who was barely breathing but clinging to life. "Allen is bringing Demon General Melissa's body and her soul too"
"We should start heading back" Alexa said as she and the others stretched out their hands and the portals opened up. To Alexa's surprise, there were four instead of three
"Sorry I took so long" Allen said as he joined up with them while carrying Melissa on his back and holding a jar containing a large glowing light. "Let's get out of here" he said as they began to pass through the portals.

South
Southern werewolf estate
Sloane had put on her jacket as her nails and fangs began to revert back to normal however, her hair which now had half of its length dyed white, remained the same. At the same time, twelve portals opened up in front of them.
"It looks like the others were able to complete the evacuation" Clark said as he and Mary appeared behind Nathan and Sloane "Are we to use Fern's bloodline magic to rebuild the settlement?"
"No" Sloane said "We'll remodel the settlement. Important personal belongings will be the only things recovered....lots of people with families, died. I bet the families would like to keep a picture since we'll be burning the dead bodies"
"Why?" Clark asked
"I'll explain when everyone's complete" Sloane said
   People began to pour in through the portals and Clark had to use his magic to level the ground of the whole South. From the first four gates to the left, the team in charge of the school and evacuation from the South, began to pass through with all the non fighters, injured, dead and children. The next four had the ones who had been sent to the West, passing through with their non fighters, injured and dead. It was the same for the East and when everyone had passed through, there was a large multitude.
"Clark, can you build a large hospital?" Sloane asked and Clark looked at her before snapping his fingers. To the right side, a large building began to form.
"You kids have really grown" Rebecca said while coming from the side. Her right hand was black and had veiny strips of lava running up. "I see you're still alive, Gard"
"I hate your southern genes" Gard said while noticing other than a few scorch marks, many of those from the South were fine. Only a few of them were missing limbs.
"Is Lucard still alive?" Marcus asked
"Barely" Christian said
"Then there's no need to waste any more time" Sloane said "Move all the injured to the building on my right. The medical soldiers will tend to them. The dead should be moved to the left and if you're a parent, take your child from the South and try to calm down as you evaluate if any of your family members are among the dead or injured. I'm gonna need a few volunteers to count the numbers lost and the numbers injured before doing a total head count of those who are still alive. I know we're in difficult times right now but we have to move on as the sacrifice of those who lost their lives can't be in vain"

   As she was speaking, everyone was following her orders and moving accordingly. For some reason, even though they didn't know Sloane, their bodies couldn't deny wanting to follow her orders and they began to disperse. The team sent to the West and to the East had dispersed too as Sloane's orders had a lot to do with them. Clark, Mary, Mackenzie, Giselle and Brianna had also left for the hospital.
Soon, it was just the royal families, Lilith, Kayden and the two demon generals that were left standing in place. Gard took a good look at Sloane and still couldn't believe his eyes.
"My, how much you act like your mother" Gard said
"I do have her memories. Hers and my fathers too thanks to my bloodline" Sloane said "After viewing and going through their memories personally, I guess the change was sure to happen"
"Mum, are you alright?" Nathan asked and Rebecca chuckled
"This....is a side effect of an annoying Abomination's magic" Rebecca said "I'll be off to the hospital to get this checked" she said before leaving
"So, among the losses, there's the two queens of the East and Lucard's state is unknown. All of our advisors are dead, that's for sure" Gard said "It's just perfect"
"I'm off to check on mum" Rosco said to Gard and Gard's eyes widened
"Rosco?" Gard asked and Rosco nodded before running off "I think I have a headache"
"Shall we head inside? We have important things to discuss before I can put Melissa's soul back in her body" Sloane said and Gard could see the mansion had already been rebuilt
"Then, we'll be on our way" Kayden said while pulling on Lilith's hand
"Go ahead" Marcus said "You've done well"
"Thank you" Lilith and Kayden said before leaving together while the rest headed inside to talk

Inside the Hospital
Priya put on some rubber gloves, a mask and an apron, before carefully trimming what was left of Lucard's shirt from his body. Around his arm was an iv drip which was pumping the same medicine she had used on Zephyr, into his bloodstream. She touched each of the rods and they disappeared into thin air which allowed her to get to work.
'Stomach, liver, right lung, and his two kidneys' Priya thought while feeling around 'No doubt he was attacked by an abomination. However, I can clone these organs and stitch him up' she placed her hands just above Lucard's body and concentrated. The mana in the air was being pulled towards Lucard's body and Priya was using it to replace his damaged organs. When she was done, she used the same magic to stitch up his wounds and tossed the gloves in the bin.
 Lucard was placed in a separate room from the other injured. Not only because he was an important figure, but because he was one of the few critically injured.
Priya stepped out of the room and saw Allen and Brianna sitting right by the door. She could tell Brianna had been crying due to learning of the death of her mother however, Allen looked completely unaffected by everything going on.
"How is he? How's our dad?" Brianna asked while standing up
"He's fine. It might take a while before he wakes up though" Priya said
"Why?" Allen asked
"Calm down. And don't raise your voice at me" Priya said "He lost a lot of blood and was stabbed in vital organs with a damn rod that stopped him from healing. After all this time, you should be thankful he's still alive and would probably wake up by the end of the week...hopefully"
"Sorry" Allen said and she pat him on the shoulder
"I can understand what you're going through right now. You just have to be patient" Priya said "I'm moving on to the next critically injured. Take care" she left and Brianna tossed herself into his arms and started crying again
