Chapter 54: Father And Son

Looking at the destroyed forest, Giselle couldn't help but gape
"Didn't he say he was playing with his sisters?" Priya asked the question on Giselle and Kayden's mind
"Your majesties, there was no need for you to bring us along" Giselle said
"Oh. I forgot to tell you" Rebecca said while patting Giselle and Kayden's heads "I'll talk to your parents about your tuition. You both know too much. I can't allow you to be attending the school"
"Wait. What will we-"
"Clam down" Rebecca interrupted Kayden "What I mean is, you'll both be receiving special education"
"But, but we haven't even learnt how to shift or use internal healing. We don't even know how to use magic" Giselle argued
"You're both the same age as Princess Mackenzie" Louisa said "And she doesn't know how to do any of those stuff. Just learn together with her" she tapped her staff on the ground "After this, go pack up your stuff at the dorms. You'll be joining the people you came with, on a two year trip tomorrow"
"But-"
"It's an order" Rebecca said sternly
"This is all your fault, Giselle" Kayden shouted through telepathy "If I hadn't listened to you, I'll still be able to finish school"
"You're an idiot, you know that?" Giselle spat "The people we came with, are going to the spirit world. It's said that time runs faster compared to here. We'll also be getting special education you fool. Royals don't train with nobles at the school. But did you hear? We'll be training with Prince Nathan's daughter, Princess Mackenzie" she sighed "And I though that I was stupid" just like that, Kayden never spoke again
"Louisa, where's Nathan?" Marcus asked sternly
"He-"
"Why are you looking for me?" Nathan asked with a frown and everyone turned to their right. He was leaning on a tree shirtless and behind him were Cassandra and Natasha who had ash and mud plastered on their faces.
"In fact, what are you all doing here? I thought we agreed on talking at home" Nathan continued while ignoring the face Marcus was giving him
"I never agreed with that" Marcus said
"Dad, what's wrong?" Natasha asked
"Your idiot brother is what's wrong" Marcus said
"I'm not gonna listen to this" Nathan said as he put his hands in his pockets and began to walk away
"That's the last straw" Marcus said as he used his powerful legs and reached Nathan in less than a second and threw out a fist.
Nathan slowly saw the hand coming and his eyes changed before he moved away. There was a large shockwave when Marcus's hand hit the air and the tree ahead was blasted away.
"I am not done talking to you, young man" Marcus said while Nathan stood to the side with eyes like an inferno
"What do you want?" Nathan asked
"I should be asking you that question" Marcus said "If you want to bond, I'll smack it into you" he said and instantly, he appeared by Nathan's side and punched him in the face
"Dad" Cassandra shouted
"Leave it, Cassandra" Rebecca said "They're bonding"
"Bonding?" Natasha asked "At this rate, dad's gonna kill him"
"Your father knows that if he kills my baby, I'll kill him" Rebecca said sternly and Louisa tapped her staff on the ground which made a screen appear
"For now, let's just enjoy the show" Louisa said as she pointed at the screen
Nathan had just pulled himself out of a boulder and steam was releasing from his back as his injuries healed.
"That hurt" Nathan said as he set his fists on fire
"Stop relying too much on your seed" Marcus said as he grabbed Nathan by the leg and continually slammed his body into the ground before flinging him back at the boulder
Before Nathan could hit the boulder, a flaming fox caught him and carried him away from Marcus. Another flaming fox appeared right by Marcus's side with its mouth wide open.
"Whose bloodline magic do you think you inherited?" Marcus asked as a larger water eel came from his side and swallowed the fox. "And didn't I tell you to stop relying on your seed?" he asked and then, Marcus appeared in front of Nathan and grabbed Nathan by the head before tossing him
"How are you even able to keep up with me?" Nathan asked as he landed on his feet. He looked up and it was only then, that he noticed the color of Marcus's eyes.
"How is that even possible?" Nathan asked as his fists clashed with that of Marcus
Marcus hadn't been idle, as he hit Nathan's joints continually. Nathan had to keep healing himself and only managed to graze Marcus twice.
‘Isn't this man more than six hundred years old?’ Nathan frowned as he increased his concentration ‘He's even faster than Dante’ he noted
"I almost fought Dante to a standstill, once" Marcus said and Nathan's eyes widened before he was hit joints again by Marcus "The guy was too skilled and beat me several times"
It continued on for a while before Marcus finally grabbed Nathan by the arm, and slammed his body to the ground. Nathan tried to move but his body wouldn't move
"I suddenly feel more refreshed after hitting you a bit" Marcus chuckled as he squat above Nathan's head
"You call this hitting me a bit?" Nathan asked "I can't even move" the two of them went silent and only stared at each other
"You're definitely still a kid in my eyes" Marcus said "You throw tantrums, get angry easily, you're nice to some people and wicked to others, you're stubborn and refuse to listen to anyone's orders. Even that of your father"
"Mum said I got all those qualities from you" Nathan said mockingly as steam released from his body and he shut his eyes "If you want to complain, blame it on your genes and then go talk to mum" he said and they went silent again
"You're curious as to how I can still use the demon seed's power aren't you?" Marcus asked
"Well, if I said no, I'd be lying to myself" Nathan said acidly
"Well, the power was once mine and fragments were left in my body" Marcus explained "Those fragments also have an unlimited supply. So I can use them whenever I want" he said and they went silent
"Why are you here?" Nathan said "We have nothing to talk about. And this conversation we're having is really weird"
"Why are you so cold to only me? We do have something to talk about" Marcus said "It's very important but seeing as Sloane's not here, I'll leave it until we get home. I've already achieved one of my goals for coming out here" he stood up straight "Oh. And by the way, when are you leaving tomorrow?"
Nathan was silent for a while before opening his eyes "Six in the morning. Before the sun rises completely"
"There's going to be some extra baggage coming with you" Marcus said as he gestured towards Timothy and the others. Nathan shifted his head for a while and that was when Louisa's screen cracked and disappeared
"I see" Nathan said as he looked away "You spoke to Dante"
"More or less" Marcus said with a sigh before walking away "See you at home"
Nathan sat up and smiled "Thanks for your time, dad" he said and Marcus paused. "You're going to affect your heart at the rate it's beating" he added
"Those words just shocked me to my core" Marcus said "And did you just smile?"
"Take it as it is" Nathan said before frowning and looking away "And leave"
"Arrogant brat" Marcus murmured as he left to join up with Rebecca and the others
"Are you two done bonding?" Rebecca asked as she glanced at Nathan
"More or less" Marcus said before addressing Timothy and the others "Ambassador...."
"Yes, your majesty" Timothy said
"Well done. You and the people you came with today, are to pack your things and prepare for a two year stay in the spirit world" Marcus said "And by the people you came with, I mean the ones you brought to the office"
"We understand" Lilith said
"Wait, does that include us?" Kayden asked
"Do I need to repeat myself again?" Marcus asked
"No, your majesty" Kayden said while shaking his head
"You're all to report to my mansion tomorrow morning at six. If not, Nathan will abandon you and you'll have to navigate your way there" Marcus said
"Understood" Timothy said
"It'll send you kids back first" Louisa said as she tapped her staff on the ground. Timothy, Lilith and Priya were the first to be teleported away. Then, Giselle and Kayden were teleported away.
"Dad, will you be heading back to the mansion?" Cassandra asked
"No, we still have stuff to tend to at the school" Marcus said and Louisa tapped her staff on the ground again. Just like that, she, Marcus and Rebecca had teleported back to the school.
"Brother, do you know what dad wants to talk to you about?" Natasha asked and Nathan stood to his feet
"It's probably about the bloodline succession" Nathan guessed as his shirt appeared in his hand "Let's head back. I'd like to get cleaned, eat and rest a bit"
"I thought you'd never say so" the twins said in exhaustion
