Chapter 51: Meeting With The King And Queen I

"O-Okay" Priya said
"Giselle, these people are strangers" Kayden whispered
"I heard you were looking for the King and Queen's office..." Giselle said as she glanced at the documents "...It looks like you have important matters to discuss....and I know the way there"
Listening in on their conversation, a lot of the students who were walking passed them, paused.
"Wow, you're so reliable" Priya said "Can you show us the way? It's very important"
"Hey, I know the way, too" a student said among the crowd
"No fair. You weren't interested in it before" another student said "Follow me. I know the way" and just like that, the hallway was in an uproar
"I think we'll stick to the two in front of us" Timothy said as he picked up the stacks of books again "Can you show us the way?"
"Giselle, I think this is a bad idea" Kayden whispered
"It's not. Let's just help them" Giselle whispered and Lilith stood up from her position and carried the folders "Ah. Kayden and I can help you with that" Giselle said after seeing the folders practically covering Lilith
"No. You really don't have to-" before Lilith could oppose, Giselle and Kayden had taken a few of the folders and she was left with fewer to carry
"Isn't that better? I was wondering how you'd see with all of those" Giselle exclaimed while Priya picked up the maps "Any who, let's get going" she said, as she led the way with Kayden next to her and the others behind her
"I'm starting to wonder if all nobles are born prideful" Priya mumbled.
  This time around, while walking, Priya was taking note of each turn they took and even the signs on some of the walls. They scaled a few stairs and took some more turns before ending up on a floor that had 'Admin Only', written on the door.
Kayden gulped before using telepathy "Can we please go back to our dorms?"
"Don't you want a chance to meet a royal family member even once in your lifetime?" Giselle shouted through the telepathy "Just knock on the door. My hands are full"
Kayden just did as told and knocked "You owe me one"
"I'm already doing you a favor" Giselle said as they heard the words 'come in' from inside.
Giselle nudged Kayden and he opened the door and walked in with the others behind him.
Inside, Commander Henry had just finished a meal and was staring at his laptop. Although the forest didn't have any service, it didn't mean that gadgets were useless. They could always buy human stuff and upgrade it with magic to suit their needs.
He wasn't the only one in the room, as there were several other commanders seated at their desks. They were going through the names of students that had registered for their specific fields. They ranged from weapon mastery, to research mastery, magic mastery, battle stratification and commanding, hand to hand combatting, and much more.
When they heard the knock on the door, everyone looked away from their computers and gave an order to enter. They were shocked to see Kayden walking in
"What are you doing here?" Henry asked "Aren't you meant to be in your dorm room?"
"Errr....some people said they were here to see the King and Queen" Kayden said as the others walked in
Firstly, Timothy scanned the room before spotting Commander Henry
"Good day everyone" Timothy said but soon a frown appeared on the commanders' faces
"You brought a human?" the commanders asked in surprise
"Leave it" Henry said sternly with a sigh "It was the wish of the king and queen. And a whim of the prince" he shut his laptop and looked up "If any of you have a problem with that, meet the royal family directly"
  The other commanders said nothing more. They respected Henry as a commander. He was not a noble but had risen up the ranks to become an inner court guard. Out of all of the commanders, he was the only one that lived in the King's mansion. He was old and had also trained most of them.
"Sorry we took too long" Timothy said as he dropped the books on the ground and his face turned serious "A lot of things happened along the way. I had some work to do, investigations into certain things and well...you can only imagine"
"You are highly welcome, Ambassador Timothy and Vice Ambassador Lilith" Henry said "I can imagine it has been hard on you"
Seeing as Henry was treating these people respectfully, the other commanders had done the same. Just then, one of the commanders  was locked in telepathy with someone and after exchanging some words, it was cut.
"The king and queen will see you now" the commander said
"I guess that's our signal to leave" Kayden said as he and Giselle were about to drop the documents
"The king and queen said they wanted to see all of you" the commander said while glaring at them "You both came with the ambassador. So you are counted among the people to go in"
"Be it that you are from another tribe, you are currently on southern territory and will obey all our laws and customs" Henry said "Go on in" he added before opening his laptop again
Just his actions and his words, made it clear to Giselle and Kayden that, that was the end of the conversation and they shouldn't try or even think of rejecting their fate.
Giselle happily picked up the documents again and followed Timothy and the two girls as they entered the office. Only Kayden was slightly dragging his feet.
'So...this is what happens when I follow Giselle' Kayden thought 'I haven't even had lunch yet. And a lot of energy had been taken from me during those classes we had today'
After Kayden entered inside of the office with the others, the door was shut behind him and he stood up straight.
"What's this?" He heard a woman ask and when he looked up, he could see Rebecca lying in an unruly manner on the office sofa while Marcus was seated at the desk staring at his computer
"Introduce yourselves" Marcus said without looking away from his computer
"Vice Ambassador Lilith, reporting in" Lilith said
"P-Priya Rodik, reporting in" Priya stammered
"Ambassador Timothy, reporting in" Timothy said before thinking about it and adding "You called us in, earlier this morning"
"Oh. I remember you three now" Rebecca said "Especially the very disrespectful human girl" she added as she sat up and crossed her legs
"I'm really sorry about that, your majesty" Priya said instantly "I was very ignorant today"
Rebecca didn't say anything for a while and she was staring at the five that had just come in. It was only then that she noticed the two kids that were in uniform. She tapped on the seats next to her "You two, come sit here"
"We couldn't possibly-"
Before Kayden could finish what he was saying, Marcus shut down his computer, pushed it aside, and glared at him.
"Didn't I say, introduce yourselves?" Marcus asked
"Sorry, your majesty" Giselle said "I'm marquess's daughter of the western tribe, Giselle and this is marquess's son of the eastern tribe, Kayden"
Marcus sighed before saying "Hand those things over to me and go take a seat with my wife" he said
"Yes sir" the two students said as they dropped the files and sat with Rebecca
"Don't just stand there, Ambassador, hand it over and start your report" Marcus said and they began to pile the items on Marcus's desk before starting
