Chapter 72: Favoured By The King I

Sloane shifted a bit in her seat before sitting up completely and turning her head around. Priya was moving a couple of bowls to a nearby table, when she noticed Sloane was already awake
"You've only been asleep for twenty minutes" Priya said as she dropped the bowls on the table "Shouldn't you sleep more?"
Sloane's fingers reached for the blindfold around her eyes and took it off. Although her eyes were shut, Priya could tell something was different about her. Her aura, which was constantly changing, had a different feel to it, once again.
Sloane took some time to adjust before finally opening her eyes and being greeted by a world of color. Priya gasped as soon as she stared into Sloane's eyes
'My vision is finally back to normal' Sloane thought as she blinked a couple of times before looking at Priya "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Your eyes are so beautiful"
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"It's better if I show you" Priya said as her index finger had a purple glow to it. She thought of something before drawing her hand in a circle. The circle spun a couple of times before it turned into a mirror
Sloane raised a brow "You're getting better at this" she said
"Just look" Priya said and Sloane stared at the mirror. The whites of her eyes seemed clearer and her irises were a gunmetal blue. "Any guy that saw your eyes right now, would keep dreaming of fu-"
"Don't even complete that sentence, Priya" Sloane said with a blush on her face as the mirror disappeared
"So it's true"
"What is?"
"You're still pure and untouched" Priya said
"Don't tell me you've-"
"Yeah. You don't know the members of your own group do you?" Priya said "Alex and Scott, Christian and some girl I don't remember, Josey and some guy...guys, Fernanda...didn't do such, Neither did Clark and I'm not sure about Mary. As for the others, I don't know them"
Sloane laughed a little but then, her expression completely changed and her eyes started to glow
"What's wrong?" Priya asked but Sloane was staring at a wall with her expression, unchanging
"Well, I guess it's high time I returned to the library" Sloane said as her eyes stopped glowing and she got up from her seat "Nathan and the others are coming here" she said "I don't want them to see me so, If they have any questions about me...could you answer them?" she asked as she took out a key and pointed it at an open space before turning it
"Count on me" Priya said as a door appeared and Sloane walked right through before it shut and locked before disappearing. "Now, to pop this in and get to work"  she said while holding up a pea-sized pink crystal ball

Priya read through the book again before popping the little crystal in her mouth. She crunched on it before swallowing
"It should take some time before it starts to take effect" Priya mumbled while glancing at each item on the table and smiled 'Unicorn horn, griffin blood, phoenix saliva, a scale from a gorgon, and my blood. Tim would be very happy to know that these are the ingredients for the vampire food substitute' she thought until she remembered how Timothy looked much like the man that killed her mother and she clenched her fists
Her head began to ring and her hand instinctively moved to hold it 'The drug has probably started taking effect' she thought when, just then, the library doors were pushed open
As soon as Timothy's eyes met hers, a smile formed on his face and he let out a sigh of relief "Prince Nathan was right...you really were here"

After Nathan and Mackenzie left the courtyard, the others immediately stopped eating and rushed hoping to catch Sloane and Priya on time. A few of them had activated a part of their abilities due to how far the tower library was from the palace.
Although they couldn't catch Sloane, at least Priya was here which was good enough for all the questions they wanted to ask.
Timothy's smile faded when he noticed Priya holding her head and the stuff behind her
"What the hell did you take before we got here?" Timothy shouted "You know you're not meant to randomly mix these things and take-"
"Can you keep your voice down?" Priya asked "My head is pounding" she said as she saw the afterimage of the man who killed her mother next to Timothy 'They really, really look alike' she thought as she tried to hold back tears while her vision went blurry and everything went red
"Priya" Timothy shouted as he ran inside the library
"Stay away from me" Priya shouted and Timothy felt like he had hit an invisible wall. The others seeing this, were surprised
"She set up a barrier" Clark said
"That's weird. She hasn't learnt any spells under me" Rielle said
"But, she doesn't need to" Dante explained "She has Sloane and wherever she went to. The barrier around her is an advanced spell and there are zero magic circles" he pointed out
"Priya, can you bring this thing down?" Clark asked while knocking on the barrier
"You're bleeding. Your eyes are bleeding" Jerald said
"I'm perfectly fine" Priya said as she touched around until her hands found the bowl of water she had kept on the table
"Perfectly fine? Are you stupid?" Timothy asked
"You know, Timothy is right. You shouldn't randomly mix these things and take" Rielle said "You don't know what it might do. You could die, you know"
After Priya finished cleaning the blood on her face, she turned to them with a smile on her face
"Do you really think I'd take something without knowing the effects?" Priya asked as she opened her eyes. Not only could she see things clearer, but she could also sense the power coming out from those around her. She felt lighter and all her meridians were opened as she clenched and unclenched her hands 'The feeling is far better than I expected' she thought
"Your eyes...they're violet" Timothy mumbled
"My mum had the same eye color. It looks good on me doesn't it?" Priya said
"Just because of that, you're taking risks?" Timothy asked as she brought the barrier down and he got up in her face "You do know that your safety-"
"Safety?" Priya asked "You couldn't even bring my barrier down. I doubt you could even beat me a fight"
"Should we take this outside?" Timothy asked
"Should we stop them?" Allen asked
"Priya's presence has changed" Mackenzie said with her eyes glowing yellow "When you compare it with that of Tim, she is slightly above him"
"Thanks for the observation, Kenzie" Nathan said and she nodded
"I can tell by your confidence that you and Sloane have been up to something" Zoe said and Priya glanced at her with a frown of her face
"We've been training and reading up on a lot of stuff" Priya said "Surely you won't complain about that"
"And your levels?" Virginia asked
"We haven't been keeping track of-"
"Of course you haven't" Zoe interrupted "So, has her devil bloodline finally taken over? Or has her health gotten worse from using magic? When will she return completely?"
"First of all, I don't like you. Your personality makes me wonder ‘who can put up with you?’ How have people been able to cope with you?" Priya stated and Zoe frowned "Secondly, Sloane is perfectly fine. Her health is definitely better than your personality. About the devil's bloodline, the air around her is slightly eerie but other than that, she's still pure...I tested it. Lastly, she has important things to do...she has no reason to return here....at least for now"
"Priya, although I appreciate your honesty, Zoe is still my sister and still deserves a bit of respect" Rielle said
"Where I come from, respect is reciprocal" Priya said "Don't you agree?" she asked the others and they all nodded, even Dante which made Zoe let out a 'hump' before turning around and leaving
"Come, let me check on you" Rielle said and Priya walked towards her. After Rielle put her hand on Priya's, she noticed Priya wasn't putting on the gloves she had given her "What happened to the gloves?" she asked
"I took them off some time ago. I didn't need them after I started training with Sloane" Priya said
"So, have you become her Majesty's personal aide?" Timothy asked while staring at the stuff on the table but Priya didn't answer
"I found out my mother was a mage" Priya said "However, for some reason, I remember how my mother died but before recently I could barely understand a thing. Which is why I want to ask now...." she said before turning to Timothy "...Will you be my friend? Or will you be my enemy if I were to kill one of your family members, Tim?"
Timothy clenched his jaw and asked "What's that supposed to mean?" as he turned to her
"She asking....if one of your family members just happened to be responsible for the death of her mother, will you become her enemy if she tried to kill that person or...will you let her kill them?" Nathan said while sitting on a chair and resting against his arm
"That..." Timothy thought for a while before glancing at Lilith "That depends on which family member. But Priya, my family doesn't have anything against-"
"Deep burgundy hair on his head with a beard of the same color, sapphire blue eyes. He's neither fair nor dark just like you and Lilith, and has an average height and statue" Priya described "Judging from his appearance...he isn't a fighter"
"How do you know that description?" Timothy asked "Priya, how do you know the description of my father?"
"I knew it" Priya mumbled "You two look so much alike that it disgusts me. Your father....killed my mother in front of me when I was eight years old"
Lilith bowed her head after hearing this while Giselle and Kayden looked at her while Timothy reached to touch Priya. He thought she would move away but he was able to successfully place his hand on her shoulder
"Do whatever you want. I have no right to stop you" Timothy said and Priya sighed
"All of that is in the past but I will still avenge my mother even if it kills me" Priya said as she pushed his hand away
"Alright, enough talk" Rielle said "I'm surprised that you're at level twenty one. What type of training have you been doing? And what has Sloane been up to?"
"Also, the number of spells you can cast without magic circles" Dante said
"I can cast a lot of spells without the magic circles. For example....." Priya explained as she gave a little space between her and the others before moving her hands as she pleased. A stream of water followed her hands as she spoke "There's this.....and....." the water instantly froze and took on the form of arrows. As the ice cracked, the arrows were replaced with a solid form of the color of Priya's eyes "...there's also this, but this isn't exactly my limit. If I could incorporate Sloane's zone, I can create blindsided attacks...well, that's what the book Sloane and I were reading said"
Rielle stared at the arrows in the air blankly as they turned into particles of light
"Are you seriously trying to tell us you learnt all of this, from a book?" Jerald asked and Priya looked at him before heading back to her table
"It's not completely impossible. But, one can't get this far unless they have a master. Someone has to teach you" Virginia said
"Even I had to be trained by someone" Dante said "Well, I had a lot of people who trained me"
"As for Lady Rielle's earlier question, we've been doing basic training" Priya said "In magic, fighting, weaponry...even in the acts of war. Sloane said it'd take a bit of time before we can enter intermediate stuff" she explained "And Sloane has been more focused on battle tactics. She....has been preparing for an all-out war without me noticing. And she's getting better and better at it"
"You leave for only one day and stuff I never thought was possible, has already happened" Dante said
"She must already know about the truth of the civil war if she's acting this way" Tory said
"If one of your relatives suddenly started mass murder for no reason at all, you'd understand" Alexa said
"Has there been any odd changes with Sloane?" Nathan asked
"The amount of time she spends sleeping keeps getting shorter and shorter" Priya said "Other than that, she's fine"
"Where does that other dimension you both spend so much time in, lead to?" Tilly asked
"Other dimension? What are you talking about?" Priya asked
"Whenever mum and you leave or come here, there's a slight shift in space which sucks up any traces the two of you leave whenever you resurface" Mackenzie said
"Technically speaking, it works like a black hole" Virginia said "And such a dimension was most likely created by a supreme being"
