Arkin
There isn't anything going on through his head as he stares to the ceiling, but what he did just earlier. Until now he still can't believe he just went for it as if he's been confident about it his whole life.
It might have been one of the most irrational decision he has ever made in his life but he never repented anything about it. He had thought about joining the gang Zeke belongs to for quite a while now and everything he told him yesterday was serious. He knows he sure would still get questions from him about his decision, he's ready to answer all of it.
Suddenly, he's pulled from his thoughts when he heard the knocking on the door. Which later found out was his father.
"Your mum's there to pick you up." He didn't bother responding and started to the living where he expects his mum.
As soon as he reached her place, her mum quickly pulled her in for a hug and Arkin tried to return the gesture as if he just forgot how to hug her after a while.
He couldn't remember when was the last time they've seen each other that's why his mum acting pretty extra than she usually does, and Arkin can't feel more sick about it. Thinking, why she be acting as if he'd missed him when she totally had the chance before to use her time to be with him and hang out with him.
After a moment they finally decided to leave for dinner. Knowing his mum probably wouldn't want to stay there with his dad for any longer.
The set up's always like this. After his parents separated they stopped talking if it wasn't about Arkin. It even seemed like they never had relation before as they would ignore each other and just not talk about it.
Her mum was really excited for having him for dinner. She even managed to prepare a food herself which is a surprise to Arkin as it was something she've never done when they still live in a same house.
As they settled on the dining table, eating in silence, his mum was having hard time attempting to start a conversation with him as he would serve him food, but Arkin remain silent anyways.
"How's the food?" His mom finally asked him.
"Taste like real food." His mum paused, not knowing what his son meant by that but he take it a good thing as he continues eating his food.
It's not that Arkin doesn't really wanted to have a conversation or anything with his mum, it's just that he doesn't know how he would talk to him after not being able to talk to him the past few weeks. Maybe feeling a little glad that he's finally able to eat a food someone prepared for him and not just be grabbing some processed food in the past two years.
"What is that?" Arkin paused from chewing to look at his mum checking on the cut on his lips he got from last time. He attempt to hid it but his mum saw it already. "What happened to that?"
"I just tripped myself. It's nothing serious." He looked away and his mum went silent as he tries to check for the bruises on his face.
"Well, take care of yourself next time, okay."
I'm always taking care of myself since none of you are willing to do so. Arkin thought to himself as he continue eating.
He guess his parents would never knew about the bullying and all the fightings. And even if they would, it wouldn't change a thing anyways.
"Well, how about your school? Wanna talk about it? I heard you top again the last exam result." His mum told him excitedly but he just roll his eyes. "I'm so proud of you."
