One would always describe life as the colors in the rainbow. No matter how colorful life has been, Arkin would still have the same perspective a out life and how he perceived it. His life is the opposite of his artworks, and which is a mystery.

"You really became a painter, huh." Arkin suppressed his lips into a tight line as he settled with Kevin from across him.

"I'm as surprised as you are." Arkin said and they both laugh as they take a sip of their coffee.

Arkin almost forgot how good it feels to be able to sit and talk to someone that's been huge part of his life. Many years might have passed by but things between them seemed fresh even at this point.

"You know what? I envy you." Kevin said with a forced smile stretched across his face. "Between you and me, I know you're the smart one and you're  nothing but just a smart kid. I always thought I was much braver and stronger than you are but that's not what the world had shown me. We both have the same interest in almost everything but I always believe I'm the risk taker one. But then after everything, it doesn't seemed goes as I thought it would be. I envy that you get to pursue something that you like while I don't ."

Arkin felt the pain in his voice. What Kevin said was kind of true and he felt sad that he had to feel this way.

Arkin cleared his throat before he speaks. "But you turn out to be a very good architect. At least it's not far from your track."

Kevin knew Arkin was trying to keep the conversation light so he faked smile. "I'd like to keep it that way."

It might be a little too painful for Kevin but he's genuinely happy for Arkin and what he's achieve now. He knew Arkin had went through a lot and he deserves all the blessings he receives.

"Here." Kevin then looked down the paper Arkin extended him. "I hope I'll see you there."

"You sure would." Kevin replied and they both mirrored a smile.

It feels nice having able to meet Kevin again after how many years. He's looking  mature now and Arkin is just happy to see him again.

After their conversation, they had finally bid their goodbye and parted ways. He was busy scrolling down his phone when he felt his feet paused after he had walked past someone. He looked over his shoulder but wasn't able to catch sight of the person when it finally blends in with people on the street. He shake his head before he continues to walk.

As soon as he arrives to his dad's house he saw Jenny who quickly made his way to him.

"Where the hell have you been? I've been calling you but you're not picking up my call nor have you replied on my text." Jenny's face were scrunched up as he tried to scold Arkin who only laughed and pat him on his head.

"I'm sorry. I just had to meet a friend."

Jenny rolls her eyes. "I'm not the one you should be asking for. Your parents are waiting for you inside."

"Right." Just before Arkin could take a step, Jenny held his arm.

"I... have to say something."

"What is it?" Jenny remained looking into his eyes for a few seconds but wasn't able to let the words out from her mouth when he heard Arkin's parents looking for him. "Nevermind. I'll juts tell you next time."

Arkin didn't bother asking her as she walked inside without waiting for him.

As they settled on the dining table with his parents, Arkin was eating his food in silence. But unlike before, Arkin isn't feeling any kind of distress having to sit with his parents in one table, now that a lot of things had changed.
